here is a conversation with theodore jaracz, key member of the watchtower's governing body of jehovah's witnesses, initiated by alan feuerbacher in 2001.. jaracz knew about the dateline expose' of their child abuse problem at least 8 months before dateline aired.. this confirms that the governing body knew about the dateline program expose' of watchtower child abuse problem.
of course, to be fair to jaracz, he was entirely unaware of the problems to the watchtower that would follow, including the resulting court cases, which watchtower settled out-of-court.
six years later, the time of the court settlements, jaracz was proved to be wrong on his observations as discussed in the conversation.. watchtower had knowingly appointed molestors to positions of authority, which was established in the lawsuits, so jaracz's arguments do not hold water here.
Hey Skally,
It was definitely him. After years of hearing him at assemblies, we know his voice. And it was the same voice in Alan's conversation with him. In fact, during the time in 1999 that my family and I were fighting for justice, my sister also spoke to him on the phone. This was also confirmed by our 4 hour meeting back then at wt hq with JR Brown and Robert Pevy.

"At the beginning Alan calls without an appointment, gets transferred to Ted without question, Ted picks up the phone, and Alan introduces himself without even claiming to be a jw. Is it really that simple to talk to him,"
Rebel8,
Good question. Back in August of 1999, I also contacted Jaracz in the same manner and was connected to him just as easily. I spoke to him personally on the phone. I was also surprised at how easy it was.

Thanks for posting the link to that discussion Randy.
I listened to that entire conversation.
It just confirmed what I found out when I dealt with the gb members: All so-called religious leaders know that they are promulgating a hoax with religion. In that conversation, jaracz constantly tried to cover over the main issue with non-sequitors. Purposely.
He is evil.
Karl Marx correctly observed: "Religion is the opium of the people".
Jaracz knows this is true and he and the wts and all other cults and religions have always used this fact to their advantage.

what a waste of living being "in the truth" was!
sometimes i see persons suggesting that the witness religion isn't all so wrong.
actually they suggest that they themselves are the issue.
Thanks Min.
I just wanted stillajwexelder to realize that.

Minimus,
Your comments on this thread are well said. I wholeheartedly agree with you.
Additionally, comments on the point of having learned public speaking from the borg, have been made by Stilla.
For Stilla, the borg simply rehashed all their information about public speaking from people like Dale Carnegie and others,
who taught and wrote about that subject way before the borg set up their so-called tms.
So any j-dub could have learned public speaking from any number of sources outside of the borg.

barbara anderson recently posted that she felt at a loss as to where she would now be able to make her announcements.. hopefully freeminds can be the main place where we all go for big announcements once they are no longer available on jwd - freeminds helped many to initially find out the substance behind their doubts and i'm sure if there's not an announcement feature right now, randy can sort one out?
randy - where are you???.
one day there will be a site that will help doubting/fading/free ones to find a safe, caring and stimulating community, i can feel it in my bones.... .
Thanks for the info Randy. And you are right. H20 was the place to be.

supposedly about the same time as the bethel visitor's dress code brochure, talks were being given in kh concerning women showing cleavage.. i don't know.
i haven't heard any of these talks myself, but my folks tell me they have.
they also told me about the talks given in other congregations (reported to them by their friends).. i guess some cos, pos, etc.
Fadeout,
That was a good one. That gave me a good laugh.
Garybuss,
My conventions here in New York City were just as you described. When I would walk around during intermission, and many times during the talks to get away from the boring drivel, I'd see sisters with slits in their dresses, splits in their dresses way up on the thigh, and a lot of cleavage. It was really a sexy fashion show at all the conventions. I enjoyed it!

i was a regular pioneer for a while during the mid 90s, about a year or two after the knowledge book replaced the live forever book as the primary bible study manual.
around that time the society began to spew a bunch of b.s.
about the end being so near (hadn't heard that one before) and how there were waiting lists for bible studies in many former soviet countries.
neverendingjourney,
I was an elder at that time and my then wife was a pioneer. I remember that arrangement exactly as you describe it. And yes. In retrospect it was just another trick of the borg to get everybody all excited and thinking that "The End Is (was) Close".

i have a few which still either anger me, make me sad or just make me grateful that i am no longer one of them.
1 - "well, everyone is going to die anyway, so if it at armageddon then ce la vie" 2 - "the disater today at the world trade centre is sad, but exciting" 3 - (an elder) "when armageddon happens, i want to be at a window, watching it all".
sick, sick, sick!
mcsemike,
I live right in New York and you are absolutely right about the bethel doors being locked and bethel not helping people. Its true.
