  How do I as a future "Therapist" help ex-jws that won't move on from the WT?

  i am halfway through my master's program in psychology/sociology and plan on being a therapist/sounselor.

  i left jw's in 1988 and i have never looked back.

  i enjoy my life so much after getting my aa degree, then my ba degree, and now i will soon get my ma degree.

  Plenty of misinformation in here. Dogs don't just "snap" and viciously attack people. I remember in the 1990s it was the dobermans whose "brains outgrew their skulls" and caused them to "snap".
  
  Sure hope these women recover completely. Shame on that pet owner.

  have you found anything from a spiritual standpoint that brings you happiness and satisfaction?.

  have you been so scarred by the teaching that "all religions are wrong", that you can't see the truth anywhere?.

  Don't feel rushed to start searching for a new group. Start an independent study of the bible and prove to yourself what the bible teaches. It was easiest for me to study what interested me most. Then visit all the religious groups you please but be aware cult mind control tactics. What you really need is time. There are so many places that are not "tainted" or "evil".

  Oddly enough, I was able to do things like study word usage in the NWT to prove to myself that God is in fact a holy trinity. Which in my opinion is the the key to unlocking everything because it gives you the true identity of Jesus. Which is why the WTB$ hates the trinity so vehemently.

  Give yourself the time you need and use the web to find things that interest you (question everything though.)

  okay first i'd like to point out that i'm not a book worm and i probbaly don't have much experience when it comes to the bible.

  i just don't understand god's pourpose and the jws point of view.

  fisrst, if god is love and kindness, couldn't he give a second chance to adam and eve?

  As to you second chance comment... If there is no sin that the blood of Christ has not covered then what need is there for a "second chance"? From beginning to end we have all been delivered into the hand of God. It won't be our sin that seperates us from God any longer. This of course is from the viewpoint of someone that is already saved. Thats why the question now is "will you believe it?"

  Going to the meeting tonight ARGH!!!! So wanna end this pain NOW!

  i'm only going to the meeting because of my husband!

  i was 'in' solo for years while living with my unbelieving family and i know how it feels to be the only one in your house going to the meeting.

  i also respect my husband's decision, and know what it's like to have family try to tear down your beliefs.

  I couldn't keep going. I couldn't stand the thought of people thinking I was in anyway agreeable to the filth spewed from the podium. Bold face lies, I could not sit there anymore. So I stopped going with my wife. She actually prefers it that way as it always seemed to ruin our day if she guilted me into going. My suggestion to you is if you feel at all like I did then give yourself the space you need and don't go. If you can go without it arousing unhealthy emotions then go and bide your time as has been suggested. Best of luck to you.

  since awakening, i find it to be hilarious when jws badmouth catholics and the pope but are completely oblivious to how hypocritical they are considering the gb and other wt heavyweights..

  At least the pope is elected from a group of future subordinates, whereas GB raises people up to their level. This way a good ol' boy mentality is ensured.
