  The Kingdom Interlinear Translation

  the kingdom interlinear translation (kit) has been published by the.

  watchtower since 1969. it still is available in it's second editon.. but how many really use this book?

  Friday ole pal, how ya been. Indeed too long since we've discussed ANYTHING. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm asking the question. You've answered it. Still, the phrase COULD still refer to Earth quakes. "The earth shook" is, at least in English, not always synonomous with earthquakes. "As the elephant walked by the earth shook", is different from saying, "There was an earthquake yesterday". Still, you make a valid arguement which I will investigate more.
  P.S. care to take a stab at the Staruous issue?

  homophobia is a mis-nomer

  since phobia means "afraid of", i think the term homophobia should be clarified.

  to most people i would be considered homophobic, howeve, i'm not afraid of homos, i just don't like them.

  Guess I'll weigh in where Logical did.

  First, remember, it is possible to think that same gender sex is wrong without hating or fearing homosexuals. As a Catholic and a Christian I am charged to love everyone regardless of sexual orientation, race, religion, etc ad nauseum. By the same token, IN LOVE, we are charged to call sin SIN. It is indeed possible to hate then sin and still love the sinner, GOD DOES.

  On the term HOMOPHOBIA, I dislike it. The word is bantered about TOO MUCH. Say that same gender sex is a sin you're called HOMOPHOBIC by somebody. I've taken to accusing those who call me homophobic for my views of being heterophobic.

  If you are a practicing homosexual, I say, GO, and sin no more, but I still love you in the Lord.

  Christmas Star = Satan?!

  i was talking with my husband the other day about the jw's belief that the "christmas star" that guided the magi to christ was the doings of satan.

  he didn't believe me; this is what i found in the "my book of bible stories" (copied verbatim from cd-rom).

  who do you think made that new star to shine?

  Far from Babylon being the Mortal Enemy of the Jews, in fact at this time their relations were quite strong. Babylon actually had a larger Jewish Community than did Israel at the time.

  Further, Isaiah 60:6 foretells the coming of the Magi, also, astrology that was condemned by God was trying to tell the future by the stars. This star told of an actual event that was occuring presently. Finally, God spoke to the Magi, so they were not enemies of God by any means.

  Just some food for thought.

  As I understand the dynamics of spacial dimensions, NOTHINGNESS is what exists outside the universe. The universe is expanding, but NOTHING exists outside of it. No space, NOTHING. Wierd concept, huh?

  The Best answer to that question is that God's power is such that if LOVE required Him to make a rock so big He couldn't lift it, He could do it. But the actual answer goes into the mystery of God's Omnipotence which can not be contradicted by our logic. Final answer, ASK GOD

  Where were you in 1975?

  i have a vivid memory of 1975 even though i was only 6 years old.

  i remember the whispers and the fervor surrounding the year.

  i even had an uncle who marked his calendar every day with big red xs proclaiming that he couldn't wait for "this evil system of things to end.".

  I was in the small town of SPARTA, Illinois, going to my catholic church, never having even HEARD of Jehovah's Witnesses, though we did have a band director in school who said he didn't celebrate Christmas (He's now an Elder in th local Cong.) I do, however, distinctly remember hearing on the St Louis news channels something about a religious group that had been expecting the end of the world to occur, (this is like December '74, one of those, "In the Coming Year" type programs), and also in like late fall of '75 hearing how disappointed some where that this never happened. Did it make anyone elses local news? National?

  today, while in a hardware store, i saw a guy that i know was a pedophile when i was a kid.

  he was in a check out stand next to mine when i saw him.

  i recognized him immediately, even after 30 years.
