I read a web site that had some statistics on the Ark vs the # of insects, birds, animals etc. Basically, just the species of insects could not fit into the dimensions described in Gen 6

Peace March around the World
by JH ini watched the news on tv, and i saw reports of thousands of people all around the world asking for peace instead of war.
do you think that these peace rallies will really make a difference?.
do you think that these peace rallies will influence the president of the united states?

There was a peace rally in my town as well. It's kinda like a social event.
I favor peace. But I want a long term sustainable peace over a short term wishful peace only enjoyed by Americans. When you look at Saddam Huesain some facts immediatly jump off the page.
1) Saddam, as a matter of policy, tortures and imprisons thousands of people each year. His is the only government on Earth that has on the payroll a "violator of the honor of women" - a rapist - as a legitimate job designation. The Iraqi people are subjigated by a paranoic fear of torture. UN human rights reported on many of his systematic human autrocities.
2) Saddams weapons program (prior to inspectors being kicked out in 94') produced enough biological weapons (Anthrax & Botulin) to kill EVERYONE on Earth 3x over. It is estimated that UN inspectors destroyed ~50% of his capability in this area in 1994.
3) Saddam has aggressively persued LONG RANGE missile technology - purchasing and hiding sophisticated missile guidence systems. He also successfully doubled the range of his SCUD missiles and fitted them with chemical/biological dispersion warheads.
4) British Intelligence has reported that Saddam produced multiple mobile Bioweapons labs using RV type vehicles equiped with portable labs.
5) Saddam duplicated and improved upon the isotopic seperation devices used to seperate fissile (nuclear weapons grade) materials. It is a known fact that Saddam has attempted to buy enriched Uranium, Smallpox, and the means to deliver them.
Peace for the US does NOT mean peace for Iraqi's.
Question for all peace advocates.... I truly respect your cause, but it seems to offer no solutions. What is the solution to the obvious present/future threat of this meglomaniac? Diplomacy has an 11 year history of failure.

Before the US takes out Saddam. . .
by drahcir yarrum inwe need to take into consideration that in the last election in iraq, he got 100% of the vote.
like many dictators throughout the world, he is immensly popular.
he probably is stockpiling weapons of mass destruction to keep them out of the hands of real bad guys.

As far as this 100% vote thing..... the ballot (they showed it on CNN) had ONLY Saddam on it AND (I'm almost positive) there was only 1 Choice - "Yes I want Saddam"!
If I was Saddam I would be embarassed if that's the only way I could win.
I think we need to focus on the positive here people. For instance I hear that Saddam is a pioneer in the "assisted suicide" movement. What a kind and compassionate person to help all those suffering people find relief from their suffering.

Every now and then ask her a couple of questions from the book.
*** What the deal with this "Faithful and Discrete Slave thing"?
*** Why does he make a big deal about joining the UN?
*** How come the Witnesses were attacked in Malawi?

Hey mackey,
I showed my wife C of C too, and guess what.... it worked!!!
Some advice.......I suggest you just give her C of C for now though. Ray's second book " In search of Christain Freedom" offers alternatives to the JW beliefs. You wife has been trained to immediatly reject anything other than JW beliefs. My wife almost gave up reading both of the books because she was uncomfortable with Rays explanations in his second book (in Search of...). I took the second one back to the library though, and she ended up reading C of C , cover to cover in about 2 weeks! 2 months later we were out. Take it slow. Let her form her own conclusions.

Most ridiculous statements from the JW stage?
by Smiles inwe have all sat at jw meetings and heard some ridiculous statements that were either shocking or just plain old bunk.
usually it is the same jw individuals that make those statements time and time again.
you know the type..... you can almost expect such comments from them.. jws place great importance on what statements or persons are 'stage worthy'.

Ok here's a couple I remember:
From Bethel "Mourning" worship - Brother Klien after speaking with his neighbor Bethel boys about their music: "And one Brother had the nerve to tell me that this was the same music their parents listen to at home...just because your parents have loose morals when it comes to music it doesn't mean you can bring that trash into Gods house" (I believe the music in question was Journey!)
From the K H: "Its a scientific fact that after a girl looses her virginity her desire for sex becomes difficult to control." (really girls? I never knew
Another Gem: "God is orderly.... You don't see planets or stars colliding in outer space.....They are in perfect harmony like a precision timepiece" (Gotta love that JW edgumacation)

Hey, if you're interested in finding out exactly who this guy is, all you have to do is call some of the Water and Wastewater treatment plants in Mobil and ask for Greg the JW. The Superintendant ought to know who he is. Tell him you found something valuable of his at an assembly.

Divorce advice anyone?
by FreeWilly inlongtime lurker and occasional poster here.
i pretty much have already made up my mind, but it seems like alot of good advice can be found here so here goes.... me and my soon to be ex-wife were active duds, rp's, bethel, etc.
we faded together and are now completely out.

Funny Diamond.. my ex was the same way! She would fume if another girl payed me ANY attention what so ever. I took that as reassurance that she was also conservative about flirting. Silly me.
Well We have actually been apart for the past 11 months so my decision to go through with a divorce doesn't really hurt. Actually its a relief to me at this point.
The only sad part is that my JW Parents - who are already fretting over my departure from the 'troof' are probably going to further isolate and shun me. They are raising my nephew who looks up to me like GOD. They have already made comments to the effect of "protecting" him. Oh well I've gotten used to that too.
As the obnoxious Eminem song goes..... "I'm cleaning out my closet"
