I guess there IS a good reason why all of God's human creation must be killed. That naked lady listening to the talking snake created all sorts of heavenly issues that need to be resolved by the slaughter of humankind (minus the select few like me).

And God's wars...well maybe I don't understand why kids had to be killed just because they were born on coveted property, but God has to have a good reason and who am I to question that?

And I guess it's really not odd that the miraculous events and supernatural interactions mentioned in the Bible never occur in our modern reality. True, all of the other religions on Earth tell of similar miraculous happenings without corresponding evidence, but they aren't true cuz they are not part of the Bible.

And the Bible really is true. Constantine was God's agent when he sifted through the 800+ religious works and arrived at the 66 that we now call the holy Bible. Yeah, he was still a pagan worshipper at the time, but he was on his way out and just employing theocratic warfare to spread Christianity.

i have studied history, the holocaust, ww2, etc.

as a witness i found it very interesting as i wanted to see what my fellow brothers and sisters went through.

the thing is, there was not that many of them.

Consider this; In one of their video's the narrator mentions that "the largest concentration of the annointed remnant" were in Europe, implying that WW2 was Satan's attempt to get a the annointed!!

I guess everyone else who got killed were simply by-products. They really do think it all about them.

hey everyone,.

as you can see im new here, and like every new person im trying to sort alll this jw stuff out.

i have no idea where to start, but here goes.. i first started questioning all this when 'a brother' in the congregation sexually abused one of my best friends family members, he did not get disfellowshipped, but he got publicly reproved?!

Hey Sam,

You are where most of us were at one time. I can tell you my answer to your questions.

Should I leave and loose all my good friends? - You'll likely see that this is not going to be enough to keep you "in" for the long term. It is hard to break from the only freinds you have, but it's even harder to fake it when you know the real deal. And to be honest, most people your age end up getting out. Don't be surprised if you not laughing it up with one of them a few years down the road thinking how silly you both were to be mixed up with the JW's.

Want some good advice? Your 18. You've just removed the blinders. Remember all the things you've daydreamed about doing when you were at those brain deadening all day assemblies? We'll guess what, you get do actually do them instead of telling yourself "maybe in the new system". Congratulations, you've just given yourself the most valuable gift you'll ever posses - your life back!

or should i continue, just ignoring all this? I don't think you'll have much of a choice. It just doesn't work. The most you can do is delay the inevitable. And by the way, if you're real good at ignoring it you could delay it beyond the best part of you're youth (right now) and then wish you could go back and do it all over but can't cause now you are older and have responsibilities.

i know the answer, but its hard to follow through with it. Be careful with this one. Many a decade has been pissed away dumping off magazines, letting others run your life and pretending to be spiritual. Suck it up. It will be a character building experience. Plus you're in the best position to walk away with little baggage from it all. You are so extremely lucky and you might not know it. The only drawback is that at 18 people tend to be more affected by what others say, think and tell them. This usually doesn't subside till later in life.

When I was 18 I got out too. I moved to California, learned to surf, climb, bike, ski, snowboard, and scuba. I traveled to many places in the world for no other reason than to do these things, meet new people and see another culture. I made tons of friends along the way. And yes, JW family and friends tried to get me to come back to their mind numbing stifling religion, and even guilted me for living my own life. It even worked and I gave JW's another try. But by this time I was in my mid-20's and had done alot of stuff. That relapse only lasted 3 years and I eventually removed my head from my ass and got out for good.

Guess which years I am most fond of ? It's your life. Live it or piss it away it's entirely up to you.

Want some advice? Here's a start: Move somewhere cool. Get a job anywhere. Go to college for a semester or two and Mix that up with the adventure of you're choosing.

well, we were going about our business today as we usually do on a monday.

mrs kwin went to work, kids went to school, i stayed home and made apple sauce and beer.

2:30 comes along and it's time to pick up everyone and, oh yeah ... we have that appointment today.

Maybe you should just request the counselor or supervisor interview the JW receptionist regarding the Watchtower Article to determine if in fact the JW receptionist believes it is their duty to shun patients in their workplace, and also if the receptionist believes they must report fellow members activities to the elders even if that violates privacy. That puts the focus - not on you - but on the problem.

I would definitely want to know where this facility stands on this - especially if this is exactly the problem for which you are seeking treatment for your family!!! What irony!

Send them the WT article, ask them where they stand on the issue and put the JW on the hot-seat for their actions. If it were me, I would be happy with that.

Honestly, honesty, This idea has been played like a shell game. All living beings desire to remain alive. Humans, particularly religious institutions have played on this desire with promises of "everlasting life", despite the obvious eventual death of all living things.
The game goes like this...

You can have everlasting life if you do X,Y & Z. Of course "Y" includes donating a large portion of you time, money and resources to the religious institution. And the "everlasting life" will actually take place in a realm that cannot be detected, or is "just around the corner". The JW's game goes like this....... Knock on doors, dump off magazines, fudge records that document your spirituality, contribute your money and work, learn to paraphrase Society teachings as if you came up with them on your own, ignore non-players like family and freinds, pretend your happy while your life bleeds away, die disappointed. Cool game huh?

Hi Twinflame. This is one of the first anxieties from coming out of an insular, controlling, fear and doom centered religion. You have spent years being told you are not doing enough, years listening to how the fate of the world depends on how well you pitch their magazines. You could be experienceing residual guilt. I wholeheartedly recommend doing some volunteer work. I like Habitat for Humanity because your work actually benefits people in your area. HOWEVER, don't jump out of the frying pan and into the fire. If you have a lot of stuff going on in your personal life (as it sounds like you will) then care for yourself first.

Great Job, I especially love the "loving God" vs Hitler analogy. I used that exact same comparison with my folks when they were congratulating themselves on their peaceful nuetrality stance. They have since stopped trying to re-convert me.

I had a couple o' sista's stop about a month ago and i asked them why God massacred the Caananites over real-estate . They promised to return with someone who would have magic answers too. No such luck yet.
