ARE YOU AN ANGRY and BITTER APOSTATE?

i have noticed that there are different reactions to learning the "truth about the truth".

some become quite bitter and angry and become very activist.

others seem to just move on quite easily.. .

I am not angry nor bitter, I am relieved.But I was angry for over more then 30 years, for not dare saying to all the friends, that something was very, very wrong with the Soc.

I was angry for all the time spent on assemblies, alla the mile runned accross my country, holding speeches, all the hours spent "in the service", trying to carrying ot a big fat lie.

But now I am relieved, all my 6 children has left this org. only my wife is still in. I only regret that I hadn´t the strength to quit earlier.

Cost of new Kingdom Halls?

i have been told that the cost to build a new kingdom hall is $500k +.

i have a background in commercial construction and this seems pretty high to me, considering all the free labor.

that is just the cost of the building, excluding the lot price.

In scandinavia I know that a number of KH.s has been built with the local congs. own assets. When the building was finished with voulontears, and all material was paid to the soc. account, these building was immideataly ovhanded free to the WTBTS. A few years later they were sold to other interests, and the cong. were robbed out of their money!!???

Questions on Evolution and the Existence of God and...

i know this is one huge rant, but i want to put my own questions and doubts in writing.. i am a fading jw who has become agnostic... i still believe in "god" and "jesus," but i simply cannot explain to people why i believe in them.

i just do.. about the existence of god: it is an infinite regress.

"all things were created by someone"... well... who created god?

Your questions are very interesting and I think you’ve got a lot of god answers. However from a philosophical point of view there are other questions that also need an answer. As some mentioned evolution has created over 10 million of species. Various kind of monkeys apes gorillas, kangaroos, and others. Humans seem to stand for the moment on the top of this chain. But how?

The terrible answer is by eating one another.

Every specimen from insects, fishes, frogs, mammals, birds, cats, dogs and humans are in fact living only by eating the other. If good has created us (with sharp tees, poison A.S.F) with this ability He must have understood, that it would cause disaster for all his children on earth. Only the smartest and strongest can survive this battle. If good has created us in this way, he must have had plan to come back and see who or what has survived?.. In fact, if you go on the Bible stories it looks like good really like to play with his puppies, like a child. He/she killed all these humans and animal in masses, when he feels for it. No regrets, no answers on prayers from any the millions Catholics, Muslims, Pentecostal, Lutherans (or whatever).

From my philosophical point of view, good is better off if he really doesn´t exist. We as humans can understand with our own wisdom, that evilness, comes from evolutionary facts. We have no alternative then just to eat each other.

what made you realize it was time to go?

i've been having health problems for the last few years and instead of any help, i'm listed as spiritually weak and of course associations is only my kids and husband.

all the good jw's have moved to other congregations and are doing well.

Agree with Steve2, "the time is on your side". Whatever the WTBS is going to tell about "new light", more and more people are going to find that all of them are imposters. Imposters that only are interested in your money and your free labour. But take it slow. Dont dazzle your "new light" into your families eyes.

WTS Legal department ghouls

the society has certainly had their share of financial setbacks, especially in the pedophile department.

the legal department must actively save face and do damage control!.

i can't help but wonder how many wts attorneys are flying around to be present at estate hearings, bequeathment hearings, probate court, reading of wills, etc.

From my experience at least the local congs are not that greedy when I comes having the latest will to be carried out (if it is in the favor of the cong.) A number of years ago a person associated with my congregation died, and when the police investigated his apartm. They found his latest will. This testament was in good and legal order and all of the person’s assets were to go to our congregation. It was not huge heritage but some few $1.000 . However unexpected a remote relative turned up and claimed that he was the owner of this property. I was an elder at the time and the circuit board of elders in our congs. Immediately, decides to give away every penny of that heritage to this “new relative”.

The congregation got much credit from both the authorities and the people in the small city we lived in. But now I wonder, if the board of elders had gone to our branch office with this question, what would they have done? Are “the higher” ranking JW,s greedier or do they have more firm instructions from the “legal department”?

Is asking questions of logic about a Global Flood effective in waking loved ones?

i was thinking about using a tactic of asking questions revolving around "noahs flood" to try to start my wife doing some serious thinking.

unlike doctrine that cannot often be proven one way or another, this issue can be proven beyond the slightest doubt that it is impossible.. i was thinking about asking a question something like this "i was reading about coral reefs today, and they sure are amazing!

what amazed me the most is how long it takes for them to build the reef, and how long they live!

I have been trying this tactic, asking sly qeustions to my wife. It ended up with that the elders in her Cong. told her not to speak "spiritual" word with me. So now we have a very quite home, but I can see that my wife stil longs for having those "tricky" talk with me. She sort of is misses the intellectual challenge that her partner should be able to give to her. All humans are always seeking "THE ANSWER" on their qeustions. I guess She also don´t belive either in the time span of the bible provides and or the "flood", but she prefers to stay in the shelter that the cong. provide. This becouse she has all her friends and all the social activities. I am hoping that someday she will wake up and understand, that by preaching a lie, she will become a part of that lie.

When the death penalty should apply.

these two guys that ran over a man and then hacked him to death , shown on cctv where their is absolutely no doubt as to their involvement ?

they should be taken out and shot , no trial ,end of story.and they admit it , trying to use an excuse of warfare or whatever .kill the bastards.. smiddy.

I think we must not forget that a lot of killers, do have a menthal disorder. They could suffer from Autism, Asbergers or is just plain maniacs or psykos. Do we have the right to kill a sick person, because he/she could endanger other peoples life? I have a daughter who is a policeofficer, she is educated to fire her gun when she or other people are in danger of getting killed. This is only to prevent even more deaths and manslughter. But she must make that decision in a split of a second. Capture peole, hold them i prison for some days and then kill them, looks horrible to me. doesnt this make the execution staff to murderes?

I think the GB must be rather conspiratorial trying to establish their Bible chronology against modern sciense. They probable stick their heads in the sand, not listening, not hearing, not seeing, not talking. If they did anything of that, their empire will be ruined and totaly destroyed in e few month.

But more and more people are getting better and better education, and people have better and better assets to information. The real enlightenment time has just arrived.

they know that evolution has taken place, that the timetable of the bible is not correct, and that most of the bibles content, are tales, that the original text has been rewritten, and rewritten, and misunderstood, and rewritten (except for a fragment p54, which is from 300 a.c.) still they go out preaching, trying to find possible converts to the teaching of the gb.. often they try to do as little as possible, one or two hours per month, talking to their children, or old parents.

this to satisfy the elder who is responsible for the report list to the society.. but are these people not responsible for promulgate a lie.

Yes, going to the meetings, listening to all the "frogs" jumping out of the speachers mouth was very stressing. I did get a very high bloodpreasure every time meeting time was on. In fact with my hearth conditions background I think that this high bloodpreasure, might have given a contribution to five hartstrokes I have had.

Tornapart!

I am very sorry if I have insulted you or made you feel bad. Can you think that the question I have brought up very well could be about my own situation? I faded away slowly for 10 years. This trying not to split my family. I tried to be “as nice” to everyone to please the congregation, the elders, my wife, my children and was “tornapart”, because I knew I wasn’t doing the right thing to anyone. I spent month in therapy (CBT), just to find out my own reason why I had to please everyone. I took classes in University to ensure that I was not wrong about what I knew. I spent more than 10 years as an inactive JW. Every one of “the friends” in the cong. wondered why. I was a coward, till one day when all my children was safe out of the cong. and my wife asked me to say a prayer at a family reunion. I refused and said that I am not any longer going to spiritually rape, my family or any person coming to our dinner table. (This is what it is..spiritual rape)

My wife of course cried (she is still in), and understood, that I no longer was in the truth. She of course must tell the elders about the situation. And since then my life has improved, I have got new friends, no more visits from sheeparding JC,s CO,s or elders. I am free. Of course I have not convinced my wife with what is wrong with the society. She of course is free to believe what she wants to believe. But she has also been forbidden to speak “spiritual” matters with me. So it is quite mute at home nowadays.

Now think if I had the courage to do all that 10 years earlier? I could have saved whole my family 10 years of suffering, not knowing what I though. I could have supporting my children all the suffering they have felt by leaving the cong. and both their parents. I have really been a coward and induced much suffering and danger my children’s future by not saying what is right and what is wrong.
