Can Elders who resigned or were demoted ever be reinstated as Elders?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy cousin and another elder in my congregation were demoted{they were asked to resign} about 5 years ago.
they both had teens who were disfellowshipped at the same time.
the reasoning was that,'' if you can't control your own household how can you control members in god's house.

still considering going back to meetings...
by oompa innot that i want to or anything, but this therapist guy seems to think that it would be really helpful to my wife.
he says to pull out the good and ignore what you dont like, and that supporting my wife a bit in this way could be good for us as a couple.
it could also let us have at least some shot at keeping the old social life alive.

I didn't expect so many nice replies.
I recall when i was in my late teens,early 20's, I was in a bar and slashed my had on a broken glass more or less accidentally, and i was bleeding to death, and the bar tender drove me to the hospital in his car very rapidly. Prior to that, he put something tight around my arm to slow down the bleeding. He saved my life.
I was young and stupid and was squeezing the glass of beer as tight as i could, thinking it would crack slightly....What was i thinking...
Got to the hospital and they operated my hand and thought I wouldn't be able to use it anymore because of the nerve damage.
My hand is ok today, and that bar tender saved my life by driving me to the hospital in his truck as fast as he could, not looking at the blood dripping inside his truck...
People tend to act rapidly when someone is in danger of dying.

but should someone show up with a gun in public, and by my sacrifice I could save someone else's child or grandchild, I likely would do so.
This has to do with being impulsive and caring.
This has nothing to do with what religion you belong to, like the Watchtower would like to point out.

First, define what time frame I have to "give my life," and what exactly giving my life entails. Additionally, I will need to know what my compensation will be for giving my life. Otherwise, the question is much too ambiguous to answer
Well, what I heard at the hall was just as ambiguous....so I guess it wasn't serious.
So, yes. If I knew it could save you, I would give my life for JH.
Wow, I didn't expect that...
I would save people like by giving blood, but I wouldn't lose my life to save someone.
