Today I Dropped In To Field Service Meeting

i just dropped my daughter off to her mum at her parents house.

it was 12pm and i knew they meet for feild service there but my ex and i assumed they would still be out knocking on doors.

i pull up in the street and there's quite a few cars parked up and the house was backed with jdubs from my old congregation.

Only the power of Cognitive Dissonance could convince someone that your acting like a normal parent exchanging custody with the other parent is done to "make them feel awkward."

What if all JWs had put off having children?

could the religion have survived?.

i know it was never forbidden, but i remember growing up, how we were encouraged to put it off until the new system, and instead focus on a career in the full time service.. can you imagine if every young jw had chosen to follow that counsel?

it's difficult to imagine the religion being sustainable without the next generation of born-ins..

That sentiment was still really strong in the late '80s. Two of my closest friends growing up never had children and are past 40 now.

I think the religion might currently be larger in the absence of that rhetoric.

throughout this process since my wife and i disassociated just over a year ago i've been pretty positive.

focusing on my new life, new friends, having fun, and living a good life.

it's been great.

If you don't feel comfortable with dressing up for Halloween, then don't do it.

Be the cool guy that answers the door when trick-or-treaters show up and hands out the candy.

Just watching their faces and allowing them to show offf their costumes is priceless!

i met up with many friends of 50-60 years over the last week.

these were friends from the neighborhood, school, and kh.

i renewed some really special attachments.

Stitch-witchery. Hmm. Sounds like a Watchtower offense, or maybe an offence. Or maybe D-FENCE 'cause that is how you win football games, you know, the ones where you pass and carry the football into the endzone. No? Oh, you mean the game where you kick the ball down the field into the opposing team's goal and where head shots are cool? No? Well, then, I don't even know what I no anymo.
