  a number of years ago when i was still active, our service group was having a coffee break with the visiting circuit overseer.

  during the conversation he mentioned that the "society" was now being run like a business.

  being raised in the "truth" i thought that rather odd (and my eyes began to be opened!

  when i became an elder i saw the dark side.

  a side i previously believed couldn't possibly exist in the one true religion of the happiest people on earth.. then they rolled out 'overlapping generations(tm)' and that was the last straw.. all my life i had doubts but surpressed them thinking i was at fault and not the cult leaders.. it seems more likely that now the governing body are parading around like popes, wearing their expensive jewellery, that this will nauseate even dyed in the wool jws.. i wonder if the wake up can be condensed into main categories?.

  Being perpetually shit on by these delusional, End-Times Apocalyptic religious loons my entire life was enough for me!

  I was never included or invited to anything JW related growing up - EVER! I was treated like an outcast. My mother actually worked for a living as an R.N. (Gasp!!!), my father was not some MS or Elder who owned a janitorial or construction business, and hence was ignored as well. Nearly 20 years of being denied my childhood, my life, and my freedom, and for WHAT? These people did exactly ZERO for me or to help me the entire time I grew up. On the contrary, they did nothing but ignore, belittle, and judge me. It was like being surrounded by vipers!! These people are totally USELESS, you cannot depend on them for anything, except to stick their noses in where it doesn't belong or offer up their opinion when you didn't ask for it, or show up looking for a free handout. Biggest bunch of lazy, uneducated (and proud of it!), freeloading, backwards, simple-minded half-wits I've ever encountered. I am so glad to be away from them all that I could do backflips down the street! I couldn't imagine living in an eternity around such judgment, Pharasitical, douchebags! Sounds more like Hell to me.

  Should I be mad?

  i've been df'd for about six weeks now.no one has broken the obligation to "honor the disfellowshipping decree".that's the way notorious co paul kohler describes the "loving arrangement" that is jw shunning.

  ( just "serving" napa ).

  so, my wife's family has been "loving me" ( barf ) when out of nowhere, one of them sends home homemade soup for me.... well, i got super pissed.

  Wait......this was a woman who was supposedly close do you for 20 years, then she sends leftover soup for you?

  I'd send her back a note stating to pack herself a shit sandwich next time, not to contact you again until she can act like a normal human being. I would have donated the soup to a soup kitchen. Would have made me feel better.

  You've gotten away from these toxic people, now get the message out that you mean to stay away. That's what I did with my toxic in-laws, life is now better than ever.

  Double Standards in the JW world

  no other organization has so many written and unwritten rules like the jws.

  so it comes to no suprise that there are a lot of double standards.. even though the end is "near", wt is building new and bigger offices.

  while the small jw should live in a closet and should make plans to have a bigger house in the new world.

  ^^^ That video, right there, could be straight from Scientology. The jingle, etc is just spot on. Can't the JW's come up with ANYTHING original? Stealing Family Worship Night from the Mormons, now stealing media and songs from Scientology? Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel!!!

  I had a real laugh at certain parts of that video, namely: 1.) Where it showed a still of Rutherford as some grand leader. Seriously? 2.) The old guy studying the new "Generation" chart. Just wait until he sees the May 1984 WatchTower cover!!!!! Uh-oh!! 3.) The young couple praying over where they should serve, and then heading to Peru. Um, I was just in Peru this summer, all over from the Amazon to Macchu Picchu, Lima, Cuzco. People in Peru couldn't give 2 shits about JW's, or their cousins the SDA's. 99% of Peru is Catholic, and that's the way they like it. The JW's and SDA's are seen as a nuisance, and they provide NOTHING while the Catholic charities help out alot with orphanages, shelters, food. How do I know? I was there, I saw it, and our personal local guide was questioned (by me) about it. Been there, done that. Also, Peru is very much a 3rd world country. Food, water, etc is not as good as we have it here in the USA or UK. That couple is in for a very rude awakening. My 2 weeks there was great, but very much an eye opener, and I've been to Mexico, Asia, etc as well. JW's need to get a clue before heading off to the Andes.

  i was just talking to my mom a few weeks ago.

  she said, out of all her kids, i was the only one she didn't have to worry about as far as spirituality.

  i always took a stand for jehovah.. she told when all of her kids were little, she gave us the option of not eating birthday cakes in school.

  So as we can see, just like in 1980 when the article was printed in the WatchTower magazine that basically blamed the Sheep for the failed 1975 hoopla, yet again in today's world the WT GB leaders turn it around and make it out to be someone else's fault that children are being abused, people are uneducated, and that the media dares to report the thousands of abuse cases they are being sued and tried for. They are masters at deflecting blame back upon their very victims. What a bunch of USERS. If I were sitting in that convention and I heard that talk, I'd be out the door - permanently!

  The push to keep everyone dumb, uneducated, subservient, & obedient while simultaneously infusing the coffers of the WT Corp is also obvious to anyone with half a brain. And yet, the masses continue to lap this drivel up. Well, at least middle-aged to older ones do; young people are jumping ship like rats off the Titanic. The Internet is their friend, and no amount of fist banging on the podium from a smug, overweight, overbearing CO at some weekend Convention that youth would rather not be at, is going to change that.

  Hear that WT Corp? That's the sound of the doors closing as the youth leave, and they are taking their wallets, ATM cards, and PayPal accounts with them.

  Doing the Right Thing, Making a Choice (shunning)

  continuing a topic that is dear to my heart because of my experience as both a shunner and a shunnee .... some people seem to get very agitated when i talk about the responsibility people have to make the right choices and that despite all the wrongs within the wts, people themselves have a role to play and some personal responsibility for the experience.. notice i said "some" responsibility, not "complete" - this doesn't absolve the wts for the things they do wrong in any way shape or form.

  so please don't get argumentative about possible meanings and absolutes - of course the wts has a significant role to play but we need to decide what we're trying to achieve here and why the personal choice is so important.. i'm also not talking about actual crimes that the wts should answer for.

  if they cover up child abuse for instance, they absolutely should be reported immediately.

  I'd just like to take a moment to clarify that I feel that not only is the interviewing speaker, but also the parental units in that video are total douchebags. This is the type of people I had to contend with growing up. They were all around me. (I live only 2.5 hours from Brooklyn Bethel) These people are cold-hearted, ruthless, vindictive, narcissist, unapologetic, spiteful, hateful, self-centered sociopaths who lack empathy for others and only care about their own appearance before their almighty WT Cult. F*ck these D-bags, and everyone like them such as: Scientologists, Mormons, SDA's, Moonies, and similar. Emotional leeches, all of them.

  Interesting day yesterday

  i have started walking every morning for twenty or thirty minutes.

  so yesterday i had to work and almost didn't go, but decided to get in a quick ten minute walk.

  i don't usually take my phone, but decided to take it, and i was so glad i did because a block from my house i came upon an older chinese man face down on the sidewalk and bleeding profusely from his mouth/face.
