So what you are saying is that your nephew is smart, AND gay? Something tells me he needs to get out of Dodge, and quick, before he's "discovered" and the pitchforks (JC) come for him.

'Seek the Kingdom First' Economics
by Tornintwo inhas anyone else's family finances been victim to the 'seek the kingdom first' economic policy?.
for years, my husband and i have had our own business, my husband is not the most proactive guy, prefers to go in field service than to work, but he has always encouraged me to 'rely on jehovah and all these other things will be added to you', 'seek the kingdom first' etc etc.
there have been times, such as when i was heavily pregnant and we lost a big deal, that i have been begging jehovah on hands and knees to honour that promise, wondering why he wasn't helping us.

I wanted to pop in and state that this type of delusional thinking is not just JW's. My S-I-L (Advent Lutheran), really thinks she is God's gift, so much so that she convinced herself that while singing hymnals on the way to work one day, she felt Holy Spirit wash over her and when she looked around she saw ZERO cars on a major interstate, and that she just knew she was "healed" of her autoimmune disorder. Now, this person is a CEO of a Bank, so it was Friday, and upon going into the weekly staff meeting, she opened said meeting by conducting a prayer, then related her miraculous "healing experience" on the way to work for all to hear. She then tested her theory, and miraculously she was in fact cured! (sensitive to food temps, would break out in rashes, etc like an allergy) Nevermind the fact that she had been obese before, stressed, overworked, etc and had lost a lot of weight due to said ailment, and work was better....nope! GOD cured her, on the way to work in her car. Ummm.....yeaaaaaah.......I'm going to have to go ahead and ask you to check into a mental hospital.....yeaaaaah. She then sent out a mass email with her "testimony", and placed it on Facebook as well. She sent it to our family (we're estanged) and I thought it was a joke at first! It was bat-shit crazy! Coo-Coo for Cocoa puffs!!! So let me get this straight.......God can take the time to heal some obese, upper middle-class American bean counter of some autoimmune disorder, but he lets the kids in Africa starve, and the women in Sierra Leona be raped on a daily basis? Get the f*ck out of here, poseurs!
This is epitome of human arrogance; actually believing that a superior being is catering to YOU, out over less fortunate people on this planet. Somehow, God cares about your business dealings, or whether you find your car keys, or if you need that sex change operation or win that tennis match.......but he can't seem to find the time to help out the scared to death Christians in the Middle East whom are fleeing for their very lives from ISIS? That's whack.

Are you guys serious? JW leadership doesn't equate with American Democrat or Republican. They couldn't give 2 shits about political parties. THEY are already rulers, so what do they care? They don't. You can't politicize everything. Sheesh. -

Headline: "Islamic Invasion: Europe now scrambles for guns." How true is this?
by cappytan ina year to a year and a half ago, i would have taken this article at face value and believed it.. now, i realize this article comes from a dubious source.
world news daily has a die-hard right-wing bias.
so, in an effort to get real information, i'm asking my european exjw's, is this article all true?

Take a good, long, hard look at the Macys response above. This is from someone with relatives in these countries. (Sweden, Germany). I have heard Sweden in particular is BAD, so much so that most of the Jewish population that settled in after WWII, has left Stockholm and returned to Israel due to the Islamic persecution of them. I heard this about 2 years ago already. This isn't "sensationalism". This is FACT. Muslims moving into parts of France, England, etc, and then trying to enact Sharia Law into effect isn't "Sensationalism", it's happened, and IS happening.
Those of us living in America damned sure better take note: This is what is coming to our soil. It's been getting worse and worse in cities like Detroit, as well as Buffalo. I know, I've been there and seen it. Ever get to Niagara Falls, USA or Canadian side? Looks like you're in the Middle East. It's uncomfortable. I'll bet the Swedes and Germans wish they had more firepower. The immigrants somehow seem to find them? I'm baffled; I mean, what about the GUN LAWS these countries have? Good for keeping the innocent civilians unarmed like Sheeple, while the immigrants import in the AK's, etc for terrorizing. (Example: That rampage a few months ago in France with those guys sporting AK's, all the while the French had to run away and hide due to being unarmed)
An unarmed population is a population of victims waiting to be taken advantage of by a stronger-willed, defiant, intolerant, armed invading force who don't care about your laws, civility, or religion. They don't have to march in like the Nazis either; they'll just "immigrate" in, settle in, breed, take advantage of your societies Social Welfare structure (again, Sweden is hurting right now from the weight), and then vote themselves into office to push their agendas. Basically, winning by attrition.
Europe with their pussified, pacifist mentality is already a lost cause as far as I'm concerned. There is hope for Australia, as they are starting to drop the hammer on immigration. (As I've heard from a few Aussie friends at least). Canada better take note. USA: I'm up in the air. Southern California might as well join Mexico.

Goodwill stores: A gathering place for Jehovahs Witnesses.
by Joliette ini recently started working at a goodwill here in wisconsin, and i've never encountered more witnesses ever in my life.
every time i go to work, i see at least two or three people that i used to go to the kingdom hall with getting suits, dresses, etc.
some of them say hi, but some of them i just ignore, or they ignore me.

Growing up, we were so poor we would have thought "Star-bucks" was what Angels used to pay back Jesus sacrifice. Coffee breaks were at McD's. How many JW's can afford Starbucks? Some of you really are in the "elite" congregations. Freakin' Starbucks! Ha! McD's was about all anyone could afford where I grew up, and you were damn glad to get that instead of gas station coffee. -

Growing up in the 1980's, my mother was the only one with full-time employment. We didn't have all of these discount stores that we have now such as Wal*Mart, Kohl's, Value City, Big Lots, TJ Maxx, or similar. We had the standard mall with Sears, JC Penney, Montgomery Ward, Sears, Hills, Ames, Sears. Then, because we were so poor, we had the various Goodwill Stores. Guess where I got my Kingdom Hall clothes, AND school clothes? Yeah, Goodwill. The humiliation I felt at school and the KH was enough to make me vow even as a child, that I would do better with my life, have a good job, be able to afford to get NEW clothes that were in style, fit properly, etc. My son has NEVER had to even enter a Goodwill, much less have clothes from one. But don't get me wrong, with so many "value" options out there, I can now make out like a bandit! I would have KILLED to have a TJ Maxx, Gabriel Bros, or a Kohl's while I was growing up. The deals there are incredible! Anyone living in the Northeast USA knows what I'm talking about. And Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Brooks Brothers, etc? I didn't enter those stores until I was 20 years old and own my own visiting King of Prussia in Philadelphia. What a shopping Mecca! Then I went to NYC, and Chicago, and Hong Kong. Wow. -

Stupid question here:
Since when do the "Sheep" feed the "Shepherds"? I've yet to see that in the wild. As I recall, Jesus fed his flock, on more than one occasion.
Skip forward to present day:
Why do the shepherds (CO's, JW hierarchy) expect a free meal everywhere they go off the backs of the "sheep"??? Shouldn't these big shots be showing up, and then taking the SHEEP out to a buffet or something, as a show of gratitude for all of the hard-earned $$$$ that they donate all year long? Even the Jews got festivals and Jubilees, what exactly do modern-day JW's get? A literal fleecing, is all I see!!!!!!!!!
Even the charities I know of (United Way comes to mind) all have annual balls, dinners, awards, etc as a show of thanks to their contributors and volunteers. The JW's? "Why can you do, give, us more, More, MORE??" It is a sick, twisted, way of showing spiritual "love" if you ask me. It's like, "Hey b*tch, fetch me my chicken pot pie!"
Sheep feeding the Shepherds. Twisted, backwards, idiotic CULT.

@ Scully: Wow!! That CO had some freakin' BALLS to actually question you about YOUR priorities, after the way he callously snubbed your efforts? Good for you on putting him in his place and hanging up on him. What a douchebag he was!! Feel the love.
