Wow, I have never know anyone to work in a mine , any ways not all mine are bad, I am thinking of the ones in Sierra Leone, were unless I am wrong, still using slave labor, and mostly children.

by czarofmischief inyes yes, ladies and gents, i was a'walking and a'talking mighty strong, but it turns out that old age is a'bitin me in the arse.. well, i went down to the navy recruiter.
i'm not eligible for joining the navy for two reasons:.
1) i have been on antidepressants.

stop taking the anti depressants, i think as long as you have been off of them for 6 moths, then its ok, also use the Atkins diet,, it will take 2 -3 weeks to lose that 18 lbs.. i did it and lost 25 lbs in 21 days.., also work out.& go running, go for two miles in 20 minutes... you have to increases your speed, i think the navy requires you to run two miles in 16.
Of course if you need, really need the anti-depressants,, don?t stop taking them.

by truthseeker inwith so many "responsibilities" given to the witnesses by the "faithful and discreet slave", there is little time for them to do anything these days except sleep - and that is when they're not out preaching at unearthly hours in the morning.. .
the enormous pressure to perform, and to be under the watch of the elders to make sure you perform, is a draining experience.. .
a book i have on sociology says this regarding jehovah's witnesses, when discussing sects, that "they require intensive commitments and demonstrations of belief by members.

we were working the store fronts in a large shopping center, which would not open until 10:00am.
i was approached by a homeless person, he asked me for money.

it went on to explain that people were beheaded at birthdays, and that god never said to celebrate them.
it then quoted the catholic encyclopedia as stating "only sinners... make great rejoicings over the day on which they were born" .

So I looked in the catholic encyclopedia and it sure said that, kinda.
"of all the holy people in the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or held a great banquet on his birthday. It is only sinners (like Pharaoh and Herod
who make great rejoicings over the day on which they were born into this world below"
The point being that the only two recorded birthdays in the bible were those of sinners, not that only sinners celebrate birthdays.

How many want out?

i hear posters say that if they're still jws then they must believe it.
what about the people whose whole family are jws and don't have any outside friends to turn to or for whatever reason are relying on their jw family for financial help and know that if they expressed doubts they would be cut off no questions asked.

My wife wants out, she wont admit it, but i know. She is trying to get reinstated, but i know if it were not for the fact her family has cut her off, and all the years of programing she would not care.
