If u can't leave then live as Christ like life as possible and make them sick with how much of a better person you are. Really want to rub thier noses in it then claim your one of the anointed and start partaking

What triggered your doubts / awakening?

i am sort of new here, used a different username for a while but things got 'difficult' at home so i've since been lurking.... what i would be really interested to know, if you don't mind sharing, is what it was that triggered your doubts and initial research which led to awakening, was it a bad experience, injustice, changed doctrine?

for me, it was seeing mistreatment of young ones in the congregation, they're under so much pressure and as soon as they go even slightly astray they are shunned, either informally (as bad associations which pushes them further into the 'world') or formally - with elders dying to throw the book at them so they even lose their family.... ...then reading about child abuse issues in the press.... ...which led me to silentlambs.

...then jw facts, this forum and coc, wham!

I could never get past the idea that God abandons mankind and yet were supposed to still love him but the eye opener about the cult is when Lett during one of his talks admits everyone at bethel thought the end was in 1975. I knew then that they lied when they said it was just elders and CO pushing that idea.

jesus was a jew who apparently thought he was the messiah, however, after dying, his disciples began to propagate the lie that he would return from heaven during his generation.

but, his generation passed away, and it was clear that it was a false prophecy, then a dishonest christian wrote the second letter of peter so as to condemn those who realised that the prophecy was a fiasco.

interestingly, and sadly, this religion survived,....why????

WT Conspiracy Theory - Pinky Ring - DUMB, I know

oh man, i know i'm gonna catch flack for this.. everyone sees masonic conspiracies everywhere.. i am not a conspiracy theorist.

i don't honestly believe the governing body are freemasons.. yet, probably due to cruising this site and seeing all the masonic conspiracy threads, i saw this when looking for a shot of lett's pinky ring to show how he wore one in october, but then took it off in may to ask for money.. .

original is on the left, and on the right, i played with the brightness/contrast to get it to show up a little better.. what does the pattern on his ring look like to you?.

Suffering: the result of Adamic sin?

i am currently having a study with a pioneer couple to try to reactivate me and get me back into the congregation.

they have asked me to really think about the provision of the ransom sacrifice.

in doing so i have gone back to basics and have already hit a few questions i am thinking of raising.

Yeah it's just like the Noahs flood story, everyone gets killed because some angels came down and had sex with woman, somehow the animals were complicit in this so they too had to die? Another point to bring up is since they don't believe in evolution and there are no scriptures stating Satan has the power to create, then God must be the creator of Ebola, all plagues, all viruses etc.

I would love to see them try to answer these questions.

No More Money!

as of this june (i've already given my may contributions which are substantial) i am no longer giving money to support useless building projects that serve no good purpose.

i am no longer giving money at conventions or assemblies.

i am no longer giving money toward the circuit overseers upkeep.

Its kinda funny but right before I woke up I was getting all spiritual doing more volunteering for work at the hall and even contributing money on a regular basis. What a joke.

France bethel renovations

seems like they can't spend money fast enough these days.. the france bethel at louviers is having a construction and renovation project.this has become necessary "due to the acceleration of the kingdom work".. this branch constructs 20 new kingdom halls each year across 2000 congregations sharing 1055 kingdom halls in 13 countries with a population of 150 million.. the project involves a top to bottom renovation and construction of a 35 apartment residents building.part of the former printery will become a car park and the building itself will be converted for use as a bethel laundry, offices, new audio/video studio, and a translation department.a former warehouse building will become a mechanics garage.. this will be completed by summer 2018.. they are seeking volunteers, and the graphic of caleb happily dropping money into a box tells us we can also help with our contributions.. jw tv link.

I bought a book on ancient Egyptian religion called the book of the Dead. When this book came in the mail the wife got upset and said I was letting demons into the house. I should of told her that at our kingdom hall in the library there was a book by Alexander hislop call Two Babylonians, and this guy was writing about ancient Mesopotamian religion, so apparently there are demons in our KH.

3rd Gen DF'd finally writing

i've been reading many of the postings on this forum for a couplefew years, finally joined today.

i think reading cappytan, and others like that, compelled me to share, it seems i might have a bit of a different outcome than many i have read, perhaps it will be hopeful/helpful to someone.. i was a born-in, 3rd gen jw, my entire family (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and most all of my childhood friends) were in.

some dropped by the wayside as the years went on, but many stayed in, and if they didn't, they still acted/talked as if they believed it was "the truth" and it was their weaknesses/failings that made them stop attending.

I too was on my way to becoming a true Christian with a much better understanding of what the teachings of Christ were all about. Then I ran across a quote about the god El being a cannaanite God. From that point on I became immersed in ancient religions, archeology of the areas in the Bible, language, etc. I'm no longer a believer in the gods/God of the Bible. Welcome and I hope you'll tell us your Dfing story.
