  Morpheus, great find, this is one of the scriptures mentioned as a contradiction in the Bible and of course the borg changes it to do away with the contradiction. It doesn't matter really because God still kills innocent ones for something David did, he also kills over a 7 day period David's new born baby for another sin David committed. Yep Jehovah is a loving God.

  of course, most of us realize this.

  however sometimes even on this board sometimes threads have stated that the jw elders have been occasionally painted as the " fall guys " who take the rap for the wt society leaders - which of course is true - to a degree.

  however- that being said , many times elders have failed to protect - or even have failed to advocate for child abuse victims when it has been within their power to do so.

  are there any changes to the new procedure?

  it seems to me that the co doesn't ask the candidate questions any longer.

  they just decide who they will appoint and announce it at the next weekly meeting.

  It might be a change were very little is said so that later when an elder is being sued along with the borg they can say no one appointed him it was holy Spirit alone.

  Wedding with a sad side

  so the family attended a wedding this weekend that we had coming up for a while.

  the man getting married (a close relative of my wife) is the son of an (now) elder.

  he was baptized young.

  just found out that someone who lives 4 doors down was convicted of molesting a 4 year old child twice.

  the second time was after he was arrested and released on bond from the first arrest.

  having two 4 year old children living in my home, i am concerned.

  Kudos to you People Who support your Spouse Suffering Meeting Attendance

  i was inspired to post this because so many of you lovingly support your spouse by going to meetings conventions etc .knowing the crap your going to have to put up with , hoping that someday he/she will wake up to the bs.. and your willing to do this for as long as it takes .i take my hat off to you all.. it must take a lot of intestinal fortitude and love to do that .. smiddy.

  I disagree, unless the ones going are pointing out things to the spouse to show its all crap or asking questions to get him/her to think then your wrong for supporting them. By going your giving the spouse false hope that your going to rejoin the religion and that maybe even more reason for them to continue to go. I have stopped and will not in any way support this evil cult and you all should stop too and say something to your spouses.

  If the Governing Body members had to take a 'lie detector test' what questions would you recommend they are asked?

  i think it is reasonable for every leader or head of any organization that has control of peoples thinking and actions should, by law, submit to a lie detector test.

  the results would be accessible to any one who had an interest in the matter.this test would be required before appointment to any position and on a yearly basis.

  questions could be submitted to a competent and unbiased committee for approval.
