Turn out the lights the party is over
by Crazyguy ini think the reason the borg really went on a cost cutting move and is selling off all thier buildings has become obvious.
the cult is telling people that there fast growing but then the numbers seem to indicate about a 1% growth rate.
this would give them roughly 800,000 new baptized ones in ten years give or take do to the small increase per year from previous gains.

This would give them roughly 800,000 new baptized ones in ten years give or take do to the small increase per year from previous gains. Then on the other hand at least 250,000 are leaving, dying or being dfd. This gives us a total of 2.5 million that's 1,700,000 in the negative.
I know this has been talked about before but it's always nice to hear some good news!! There loosing 2 million per decade. How long can that's last.

How do i keep seeing my daughter when she turns 18
by agnosticnow inhi.i have a 13 year old daughter that i still have for a limited time as she comes to stay about one night a month at present.the law here in australia is on my side in that the australian governments stand is that the child needs regular access to both parents .

her mother can not stand that i am living with another woman and doesn't want her here .

I would be proactive at teaching her about all the problems with the bible. Noah's flood is a good place and how all the evidence shows there never was a global flood. Anyway if your not proactive the cult will mess her mind up and even if she stops being a JW she may have guilt issues etc if she is not properly educated.

For JWs..Jesus, The Way, The Truth, The LIfe.
by somebody in· for what reasons does jesus have the formerly demonized man tell others about what jesus did?.
but jesus tells the man: “go home to your relatives, and report to them all the things jehovah has done for you and the mercy he has shown you.”—mark 5:19.. .
(mark 5:18-20) .

It's like Romans chapter 8 or 10 where they say all who call on the name of jehovah will be saved yet the scriptures just before mention Jesus , so if you read it in context in thier bible Jesus is jehovah .

Single Sisters Over A Certain Age Group Getting A Bad Rap
by HiddlesWife ini'm new here; one of my relatives was a member on this forum a few years ago and told me about it.
anyways, as a sister who has been in the org since childhood and now in her late 40's (plus as a woman of color), i have noticed that a number of brothers have an ageist attitude.
they are very accepting of young women under 26 and rejecting women over that age, particularly those in their 30's and over.. is this an unspoken mindset from wthq (specifically from bethel), or is it that quite a number of males (sorry, i'm not sexist here) have this type of mentality?

When I was dating if a sister was older then 23 or so everyone figured there was something wrong with her. In most cases it's was right , sisters we're usually engaged by the time they turned 18.

What The Org Teaches: #2 THE GREAT TRIBULATION
by The Searcher inevery single bible student/jehovah's witness who has ever lived, has been indoctrinated to believe that a catastrophic great tribulation would very soon engulf the entire earth, causing untold death & destruction.
this spurious teaching is drummed into every j.w.
's head and used by them as a major recruitment tool.

The Borg also changed the words in the bible from "birth pags " to "pangs of distress" . This was done because birth pangs come first not after and the Borg of course says Jesus took his throne first then the tribulation. But the bible clearly shows it to be the other way around tribulation the the coming of Jesus.

Another Egyptian relic discovered at Hazor, northern Israel
by fulltimestudent init doesn't look significant, but it is - the jerusalem post reports:.
the finding – coupled with a sphinx fragment of the egyptian king mycerinus (who ruled egypt in the 25th century bce), discovered at the site by the research team three years ago – are the only monumental egyptian statues found so far in second millennium contexts in the entire levant.the discovery of these two statues in the same building currently being excavated by the research team indicates the special importance of the building, which was likely the administrative palace of the ruler of the city, as well as that of the entire city of hazor.shlomit bechar, a doctoral student at the institute of archaeology, who has been excavating at hazor for a decade, is the dig’s co-director, and oversees the main excavation area.during the course of nearly 30 years of excavations, fragments of 18 different egyptian statues – both royal and private – dedicated to egyptian kings and officials, including two sphinxes, were discovered at hazor.“most of these statues were found in layers dated to the late bronze age (15th-13th centuries bce), corresponding to the new kingdom in egypt,” said ben-tor.“this is the largest number of egyptian statues found so far in any site in the land of israel, although there is no indication that hazor was one of the egyptian strongholds in southern canaan, nor of the presence of an egyptian official at hazor during the late bronze age.”ben-tor added that most egyptian statues found at hazor date to egypt’s “middle kingdom” (19th-18th centuries bce), a time when hazor did not yet exist.“it thus seems that the statues were sent by an egyptian king in the ‘new kingdom’ as official gifts to the king of hazor, or as dedications to a local temple, regardless of their already being ‘antiques,’” he said.“this is not surprising, considering the special status of the king of hazor, who was the most important king in southern canaan at the time.
the extraordinary importance of hazor in the 15th-13th centuries bce is indicated also by the biblical reference to hazor as ‘the head of all those kingdoms’ (joshua 11:10).”all the statues at the site were found broken into pieces and scattered over a large area, he noted.“clear signs of mutilation indicate that most of them were deliberately and violently smashed, most probably in the course of the city’s final conquest and destruction sometime in the 13th century b.c.e,” said ben-tor.“the deliberate mutilation of statues of kings and dignitaries accompanying the conquest of towns is a well-known practice in ancient times (i samuel 5:1-4; isaiah 11:9), as well as in our time.”the hazor excavations, which began in the mid-1950s under the direction of the late professor yigael yadin, are carried out on behalf of hu.

They always write as though King Solomon really existed. Hezzekia bulla shows that he was connected with Egypt . The scriptures about Josia talks about how the king of Egypt warned him to not attack him that God was with him , so again it's speaking as though both rulers had the same God. The temple of Solomon if built was very similar to several in Egypt and others considered in the Egyptian empire.

The Elders want to meet with me and the hubby... Lol lol lol
by Sevan inso the elders called wanting to meet with me and my husband.
most likely because i told a concerned jw friend of mine that i really care about that i wasn't coming back and a couple of the issues i had.
i didn't bring up any so-called "apostate" information, just told her about the australian royal commission and that there are a lot of unscriptural teachings and that the gb apply scriptures that are about jehovah and jesus to themselves, which is idolatry.

My daughter has real health problems and my wife was trying to raise some money to help us get her treatment. A few people in the hall donated but very little except for a couple of her close friends. I didn't really care as most jws are poor anyway but the elders, not one donated crap!!!
