Who’s to say these things didn’t occur, the Romans could of easily blown trumpets when attacking Jerusalem. The son/Sun of man did come in the clouds for all to see .

Matthew 24:34 not fulfilled in the first century
by Jules Saturn ini was discussing with an elder the generation teaching and telling him when jesus christ says in matthew 24:34 “truly i say to you that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things happen.” he was referring to the generation from the first century in 33 ad and these events that were to take place took place with the destruction of jerusalem in 70 ad.
now the elder tells me to go back to a few verses to from verses 29-33 which read: .
“immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened,+ and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.+ 30 then the sign of the son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief,+ and they will see the son of man+ coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Ex CO over at Reddit stated when serving in his Latin American area that the growth just wasn’t there . Despite the reported 4 % growth I believe he stated all he really saw was maybe one family that joined or a relative or two coming in but nothing major. Another thing to ask is if Central Africa is growing so much why did they close the branch in that area?

the witnesses will claim we cannot agree and there are nothing but fights and a lack of harmony within our community whereas they are the most unified religion who believe the same things where ever you go.
however andrea points out that this is just an illusion, there is no unity amoung jws.

then they've said will we show our loyalty to jehovah by still obeying?

Sure Israel is real now but there’s a lot of evidence that it may have not really existed back in the days when were led to believe Israel was a nation then wiped out by the Assyrians. The evidence from Egypt is a mistranslation.

Work Colleague Went To a JW Funeral - His Experience
by pale.emperor inso the guy in my office on the desk next to me has just got back from the funeral of his wifes sister.
this was his first time in a kh and full on exposure to jwdom.. bit of background: the deceased jw was not a born in, she was a convert when she was in her teens.
she died last week at the age of 82. the poor old dear was still zealously knocking on doors while in ill health.

I’ve only been to one funeral where it wasn’t an out right infomercial. They talked about him and husband life for a while before going all commercial. But this elder was a die hard so even talking about his life it was all JW related. Then what was weird is they started with the whole sin of Adam and Eve and explained the whole doctrine. It was the last time I was in a hall, couldn’t wait to get the hell out of there!

God kills a heavenly being he calls his son as sacrifice because some girl then a boy eat an apple. Would you do that? Would you kill one of your kids because the nieghbor did something wrong? Does this make any sense at all. Really think about it, it was a test and Eve failed , jesus was then tempted three times by Satan and he passed the test with flying colors, but is still killed, right! Makes all the sense in the world!

there are scriptures like in the 1 corinthians chapter 5 that refer to jesus as “our lord jesus”.
the lord is jehovah, why does that scripture in 1 corinthians refer to the lord as jesus?

One needs to look at the evolution of the New Testament and the early Christian beliefs. Jesus was a knew promoted god and savor of mankind, the Christ. People promoted him a such and the father god wasn’t that important. Marcion and the Gnostics didn’t even like the god of the Old Testament calling him the dimurge an evil demon.
Then there came Arius and he claimed that Jesus was a created deity. Then they decided that Jesus was one with his father . Later the trinity came to be as the Holy Spirit was then promoted as part of this composite. If one reads the Bible you can see this evolution of jesus in the Bible.

Should private citizens be allowed to video record law enforcement?
by Fisherman ini saw an article in the news yesterday that laws are going to be passed subjecting the police to being recorded by anyone while performing their duty or enforcing the law and encourages citizens to sue if they interfere.
some law enforcement agents become angry and confiscate recording devices from people recording them while making an arrest, etc.. it does seem that the work that the police and other government agents do is public and not private or confidential so there should be nothing to hide from the cameras.
on the other hand, how can one distinguish being shot by a camera or by a weapon until one is hit?.
