Old goat what's your opinion on when Jesus is said to be born? Some say the gospel of Mathew points to 6bce and Luke 6 AD. One of the big discrepancies between the two gospels is the Syrian governor ordering a census and the life of king Herod. According to records Herod was dead before the governor of Syria was governor. So there seems to be a 12 year difference between Matthew and Luke's accounts of Jesus birth?

Faith, where now?
by Theburstbubble inso for the first time ever i went to a church service at my local church (coe) and i have to say it was awful!
it was just like a ritual.
the vicar would say something and then the congregation would all say a phrase in unison back to him.

I went to a non denominational church and it was great. A friend of mind suggested it after he went and visited several other churches even non denominational ones. You can't just give up and go back to the witnesses because one church service was all wrong. I can try to find out what kind of church style my friend goes to if you want there national . PM me if you like and I'll ask him. -

Jackson did one good thing he was able to get rid of the private bank ruining the country when he was president and a private central bank staid out of power for about 70 years until Wilson was duped into signing a bill allowing a new private back called the Federal Reserve. Its crazy to think his picture was ever allowed to be on a Federal Reserve Note. -

the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

What many people don't realize is the generation of 1914 were actually born about 1900 because they had to be old enough to see and understand the events that took place in 1914. It was only much later in the 1980s that the Borg started reducing the age from 14-15 years old to them only having to be about 10 then younger then finally only having to be born in 1914 . -

Door to Door
by Drifting Away ini hear my wife say to me " we are the only religion that does the will of god , and that is to preach door to door, and speak about gods kingdom" and in one sense she is correct, i know there are others that preach door to door, but then someone told me door to door, does not literally mean door to door in modern times.
i was confused, has anyone ever heard of this before?

Let's make one thing clear they do not preach the good news of the kingdom. At 1 Corinthians chapter 15 and Galations both specifically mention what the good news of the kingdom is and it's Christ that he came died and was risen. Its all about Christ. -
