Blueblades - You have a belief system based upon the Bible, and that's where you get your info from to give us your point of view to which you are entitled to.
Ok.
How can you speak for God by saying that the only solution is ZAP and lost of free will. Need I remind you that it was by ZAP that God took away our free will when He imposed the death penalty for using our free will.
I'm not saying it's the solution. You complained about the evils of man and you wanted God to come down and lay the smack down on them. You also complained that God is not instantly at a snap of the finger cure all the problems that plagues this world.
You also complain that God is not preventing crimes from happening against the people on this world.
Then I gave you a supposition that instead of allowing evil to continue, God takes away free will and in turn makes us robots doing only what we're programmed to do and we're programmed not to do harm against anyone. It had seemed to me that what you were conveying what you wanted. You may not have said it and you may not have thought it, but the idea was there.
But now you are telling me that God took away free will when he imposed the death penalty against His people whoever commits a capital crime? Are you saying now that it's preferable that God not punish anyone for raping little children and murdering them while you complained that God is not stepping in to stop it or prevent it? Is this now double speak?
We have already become robots to do God's bidding or ZAP your gone. When someone does God's bidding it's because they don't want to be ZAPPED out of existence. Hence you don't have free will, either do it my way or ZAP.
That's where you are wrong. God is allowing man to choose what he/she wishes to do and there will be consequences based on the decisions that we make, positive or negative consequences.
If we free willingly follow God at our choice simply because we want to follow God. Like I wanted to follow God and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior because I KNOW I am a sinner in need of a savior. I had done bad things in my life that I knew was wrong and I needed forgiveness for what I have done in the past and I wanted a new life in Christ, forever changed as a new creature in Christ.
God then answered my prayer and gave me a new life exactly as I wanted and I have never at that very day felt more free in my entire life. I felt all the weight that was on my shoulders fall off and I broke down crying, not in sadness, but in great joy. I felt free!
I wish I could show you the experience and the feeling that I had on that day, I wish we were like plugged together like the Matrix so you know exactly what I went through and how it felt like. The experience is way too hard to describe in mere words because there is absolutely nothing like it here on earth. I'm still blown away by it even as I look back and remember that day.
I just had another thought to the free will issue and you're right in some respects that we have lost our free will but it's not from God's will. What I am talking about is we're in bondage of the ways of the world such as drugs, alcohol, addiction to pornography, etc. We're addicted to a great many things that enslaves us into it.
Take this forum for example. It's a great forum. But can we be addicted to this forum? Well, I freely admit by my own flesh that I am addicted to Simon's forum. I can't walk away from it. LOL! I get up in the morning and the first thing I do is hit this forum and I hit it again while in the process of getting ready for work. Then I come home and hit the forum to see what I had missed while I was away. .
But is it possible that it could hamper our life to do other responsible things we need to pay attention to? Like doing the dishes, taking out the trash, doing our laundry, neglecting our families because we could be paying more attention to the forums rather than the spouse and children? Yes, it is possible. I think that's why Simon imposed the 20 posting limits so it kicks us out to focus on our real life situations. Simon wants us to have a life! (Thank you Simon! )
So yes I need to get a life and read the bible more, pray to God more and take care of simple chores, otherwise I am in big fat trouble! LOL!
So, when you ask me do I want God to say ZAP no free will your now a robot, the answer to that is no.However, unlike you, I don't think we have the solution on just how to end this dilemma, but, I do think God has the solution and its beyond our ability to figure it out for him.
Well, I say YES we can, unfortunantly we ALL aren't doing it. If every single human being out of the goodness of our hearts stepped in and got in the face of every criminal of this world and said, NO MORE and their punishment is met out immediately. This sends a message to would be criminals that they had better think twice before imposing their selfish reasons upon the good and the innocent. We can do it, but unfortunantly people don't care and they rather take care of their own thing and ignore what's wrong with this world rather than rolling up our sleeves and digging in to fix the problem of this world.
However we are trying. I do thank Police Officers who lay down their lives everyday on the streets to do their best to serve and protect the innocent from jerks who are haboring selfish agendas.
Of course we don't understand why God is allowing suffering in this world and not butting in to prevent it.
There is a post from a man who had the exact same anger as you did and let me link it for you. He speaks very well about what he thinks of the suffering of this world....
The subject of this topic is called, "Making Peace with God".... http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=44760&site=3
Please let me know what you think of his post...
And the solution ,I think, has nothing to do with either or, one or the other, and that God can end death and sickness without basing it upon man's thinking or actions toward Him.Afterall there was a time when man lived for hundred of years,if you want to believe it based on the Bible wherein you get your belief system. No harm no foul. Blueblades
And he will one day soon. There will be a day that there will be no more tears, no more pain and no more suffering. The day WILL be here.
Isaiah 25:8
he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe
away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken.
(Whole Chapter: Isaiah 25 In context: Isaiah 25:7-9)
Revelation 7:17
For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe
away every tear from their eyes."
(Whole Chapter: Revelation 7 In context: Revelation 7:16-18)
Read the post I mentioned above, he explained it a whole lot more than I ever did. It made me cry.

StinkyPants - It's not cool to remove your posts like that. Now we have no idea what rem is talking about. So what if you were wrong, it still teaches others who might be wrong too.
I'm sorry I did that, I felt that when I found myself to be in the wrong based on the information I had found was never substantiated after at first had read about this years ago. So, I removed the postings because I felt I was wrong and the information I read was wrong as well.
I will not do that again in the future.

Ok I stand corrected as I am not afraid of being wrong in these articles I have found and I didn't not realize these claims have not been substantiated. I read about these stories years ago and did not follow up on them later. So it is my fault I didn't check both sides of the story before confirming them.
However, there is one thing that I would like to ask about is what I had posted earlier about the City of Babylon linked below...
What say you on this subject matter?

this disfellowshipping literally crushed me as i felt i was fully repentant at the time.
i was the one who approached the elders to confess.
Wow, this is so moving and I'm about ready to cry.
This story reminds me of a man who was a youth minister, his name was Rich.
His wife told us in his funeral that while he was alive, he was a loving man, a loving husband and a loving father. But outside of his family, he loved the teens more because he knew God loved them and he wanted to reach out to the teenagers who are at a impressionable age that can easily fall into drugs, alcohol, sex and for some, teenage gangs in the streets downtown in the mid part of the city of Indianapolis. Some are hurt from parents who have divorced and some have been abused by their parents or family member. He reached out to every avenue of backgrounds where the teens came from.
One day, he said a prayer to God that out of all the teenagers that came to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior in his years of ministry. He asked God what if he died today he wondered, would his death bring more teenagers to Christ far more than he has ever done when he was alive? He had expressed that wonder to his wife as well.
One day, he died, he just collapsed on the floor at home. He had a blood clot to his brain.
His wife then offered her husband's body as a alter call for all those who knew him and never gave the chance to ask Christ into their hearts to be their Lord and Savior when he was alive. She said that he would very much want everyone who met him to come and be with him with the Lord, if only if they could come to Christ first. He wanted to share the celebration of life after death. Like the Jordon river, where we all have crossed from life to death to life again.
So she left the call open to all those who wished to come to Christ and many teenagers flooded upon his casket to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. There was more teenagers who became saved than he has ever done when he was alive.
It was the most heart moving thing I have ever seen in my life and I will never forget it.
Rich was in his mid 30s when he died. He was a very young but loving man who loved God and his little children, the teenagers. I didn't know him much because I didn't hang around with him alot, just some hellos and some small talks. But during the funeral, I got to know more about him and my only regret was that I never got to know him more than I should have, I really missed the train on that one.

StinkyPants - You don't seem to be getting the point. People wonder how any being, especially one that is all powerful let's his creation suffer. Forget about man's free will. What about God's free will to change things? God obviously messed up when he made us. So why not fix what he started? Why not?!
Because that would be interfering with free will. It would be hypocritical of God to butt in and tell us what to do or change things just because he doesn't like what he sees. He's a free will being and he made us a free will being the same. The only exception is that He rejects evil and sin by choice.
It's our choice to either embrace good or embrace evil. We can't choose both.
Another thing is that people are plain forgetting that when small children dies, they aren't REALLY dead simply because their spirits are with God and at a place where they are forever safe. Their flesh dies, but their spirits do not. Children who are under the age of accountability automatically go to heaven. Those who are of the age of accountability who dies will be judged unless they already have their names written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Atheists who get ticked off at the death of children and blame God (ironically even when they don't believe He exists in the first place) for what has happened to them. It seems that they blame God more than they blame man for their deaths. I just find that plain weird.
Sure it's easier for God to fix the problems, but that's still interfering with free will. So instead of blaming what's wrong with this world, why not man just get off their asses and do something about it themselves? I do it everyday whenever I can. If I had enough money to give it to charity so they can buy food and medicine to poor countries that need it, I'd give it.
If man stopped shooting each other and laid down their weapons and do something about world hunger and build shelters for every human being who don't have a home and a place to lay their heads on, we could make a HUGE difference.
If 1 million people got together and donated 1 dollar a week, that's a million bucks a week, that money could be well spent to help people in need.
But problem is, not ALL man is doing that. Too many don't give a crap about anyone but themselves. They're too busy working their butts off to pay the bills and feed their families. They're too busy to even pay attention to what's really going on to really care to do something about it. It's a sad reality.
The bible says that God will hold each and every one of us accountable for what we do as individuals, but also that the bible says that we will be held accountable as a NATION.
Meaning that when we allowed abortion to become legal and we didn't do anything to stop it, we will be held accountable for over 40 million babies dead since 1973.
If we rised up and marched to Washington (as many have already in the past and still the Congressmen ignored them) and tell them we want abortion stopped and I mean every single Christian and Jews and Muslems and any religious person who opposes abortion to march out there and let them know as voters that we will not tolerate the killing of the unborn children, otherwise we'd vote them out in the next election.
I wish we had already done that back in 1973, but we can't take back the children who died in the name of convedience and so called "choice" (whereas the unborn baby has no choice).
In any rate, I blame all religious organizations out there who sat on their butts in the sanctuary and did nothing about it to prevent Roe v Wade from happening nor have they rised up and objected to the killing of the unborn after Roe v Wade came to pass.
So let's stop pointing fingers at God and start pointing fingers at the evils of man and let's roll our sleeves and dig in to fix the problems ourselves. We can do it. Just lemme know when ya gonna start it and I'll be there.
Edited as I see Stinky added something else....
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Ok, let's also take a look at this....
Genesis 4Cain and Abel
1 Adam [1] lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. [2] She said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth [3] a man." 2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel.
Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. 3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD . 4 But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." [4] And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.
9 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?"
"I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?"
I think he asked a pretty darn good question, he was trying to weasle his way out of responsibility for killing his brother. Note he was being sarcastic when he asked the question.
Are we accountable to one another? I would say yes. We should be everyone's keeper and watch out for each other in love. Unfortunantly, we all aren't doing that. If we did, we wouldn't be on this forum criping about what's wrong with this world.
