I had some dubbies remove me as a friend of their face book because I no longer go to the meetings, and yet these same people had no problem keeping relatives as friends on their face book even though they also no longer go to meetings as well. Obviously what is good for the goose is not good for the gander.

Double standard of JWs
by exWTslave injws shun many practices like birthday citing their pagan/evil-spirit connection.
if they are honest with their claim, they wil have to leave this world altogether:.
1) in their bethels, brothers should compulsorily wear a neck-tie, which is actually a phallic symbol!.

I have a feeling the service won't be in a kingdom Hall. It will be in a funeral chapel. I have even know of a funeral service not been in a KH because of the off spring been disfellowshiped. As for the food and refreshments afterward that will be entirely up to individual publishers. I'm guessing if she was only at the meeting every once and a while and not well known, it may make things difficult.

The Watchtower is under siege from inside and outside
by suavojr inthat is the reason the watchtower leaders are desperately trying to protect their indoctrinated supporters from being influenced by the critics.. it will get harder and harder to recruit in countries where the internet is easily accessible...the watchtower has no control over the public like it does the indoctrinated jws.
..any interested person can very easily google and learn the truth about the watchtower cult before a 'return visit' can be made.
although most jws would be afraid to go into 'apostate ' sites, more and more are waking up to the truth about the watchtower , their interest triggered by different reasons such as the child abuse cover up, the constantly changing doctrines, the downsizing etc.

The searcher = That is why I walked out before It got to that point. I suggest you be proactive rather than reactive.
Magnum= I certainly saw the poor caliber of convert that was now entering the congregation e.g indegenous people with ,major addiction or psychological problems. I can give a very good example of what you are talking about. I knew a couple that were studying with the witnesses. They were Caucasian, both had good jobs, and what I would call upper middle class people. For the couple of months they were attending the meetings I became quite friendly with them. I remembered them telling me on one occasion that they were going to visit their pastor from a previous church to question him. Hence needless to say I never saw them again. Some time later when I was awakening i enquired as to what happened. The reply was they mentioned this to a relative, who went to the internet and the rest is history. They didn't even have to go to the pastor.
There is no doubt in my mind that the society has to become more active on the internet, and I believe in time they will be forced to. Weather this will work for them or against them time will tell.
I like to call apostasy the silent or faceless problem. To back this up I saw the results of a servey done on JWServey. Of the respondents to this apostate site over 50% of them were either active or fading witnesses, compared to just over a 3rd who claimed to be disfellowshiped. If this is a reflection of the bigger picture it would suggest that an apostate is someone who chooses to remain silent, but is quite prepared to discuss what he openly thinks if given the chance to remain anonymous (faceless). The sooner the WTBTS realises this the better off they will be.
i also believe they have poor mechanisms in place for membership retention. It just blows my mind how they are prepared to spend billions of dollars and countless man hours pissing people off in recruitment and yet do nothing ( other than an obligation free disfellowshiping) to retain them.
The policies which they believe is making for a tidier more spiritual organisation, is actually having the opposite effect. If disfellowshipping was discipline from Jehovah and keeping the congregation clean, then there would be less incidences and a high return rate. This isn't the case, and the fact that they may be having financial troubles would suggest that the current system isn't working. Will they do away with this. I think it is tooooooo far entrenched to turn back now. It will be interesting to see what eventually happens to WBTS, and I hope i live to see it.

Discussion with some elders
by GoUnion inhello everyone just wanted to relate a situation that occurred a few days ago.

Blood doctrine discussed on popular TV program this morning in Poland
by FadeToBlack inso my wife watched one of the morning talk shows today (questions for breakfast) after seeing an advertisement on tv yesterday about why jw's dont' accept blood.
she thought it was going to be a presentation by someone from bethel but it ended up featuring a disfellowshipped jw that stated the jws were a sect and individuals did not make this choice of their own free will.
i wasn't watching, just listening from the other room.

Talking about why a witness would fet involved Ina knife fight. We had one of those reality ER programs here with a guy who was a witness cursing his head off.

Captain obvious = no it wasn't eleven. I just made that figure up. I do remember reading some months ago where they stated a figure on jw.org and thinking to myself "gee that figure seems awfully low," compared to all the crap I was finding out about them on the net. I tried to find that same article on jw.org the other night, but to no avail. I'm guessing in true dubbie fashion, unfavorable information has been removed.

I remember some months ago reading on JW.org About the issue with child abuse. I tried to find it last night but couldn't. So if anybody has a link to it can you post it. May be I didn't look hard enough.
Ok my question is. This article on JW.org went something like this. In the 140 years of Wt history there have been 11 court cases filed against it and out of those 11 only 3 have been lost. 3 is still 3 to many. However out of the 100000 congregations around the world and 300000 elders, this has been quite small.
ok the figures are not correct but the point I am trying to make is how can they make a comment like that. When what I'm hearing is that there are many victims and people Who have tried to sue them. So is the problem just to a select few or is the court system in over load. Dose the article I just mentioned still exist on JW.org or has it been conveniently removed.

Juan V2 on the RBCs
by L3G ini hope juan viejo2 will not mind if i repost his comment from the hot thread on firing the dos being an early indication of a much bigger project the gb has in mind:.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/277270/5/will-firing-the-dos-be-the-first-step-to-a-new-watchtower#.uzcp_f21wxc.
he was responding to my request for more info on how the reported disbanding of the rbcs fits into this overall plan the gb has in mind to reshape the org.. surprisingly, i've been fortunate to meet many former jws who were very active volunteers for the rbc new builds.

Just adding further to what Juan said about the RBC scams. i can think of a good example of 2 kingdom Halls that in the space of 10-15 years that had 4 refurbishments and then one of the two halls was sold and a new one built. Of those 4 refurbishments 2 were complete strip downs inside. Shortly after the 2nd and a complete refurbishment of one of those halls were carried out, it was sold and a complete new one built. Looking back I would say the cost (with 4 referbs and a quickly built) to the congregations probably would of been a million dollars plus a lot more. As I reminisce on this I just can't help but think what I complete fool I have been taken for. I feel frustrated as a person who is trying to fade, because I can't say anything to loved ones as I don't want to get the apostate label.
The above is what I posted as a reply to JV post.
