We got a memorial tract this year. They know where we live! They know we are bad! I am not sure why they risk coming to our house.

You Know that You're Really Flucked Up When....
by jamiebowers inyou see a jw on your street and wait for them to come to your door.
yes, seriously, it happened this past tuesday morning.
i saw a jw going to my neighbor's house across the street, so i waited patiently for a knock on my door that never came (at least in the 2 and a half hours before i had to leave the house).

An apology from a JW................................
by BLISSISIGNORANCE in...................who was a witness at my judicial comm.
any of you that know me also know i was df'ed because an elder had an outcome in mind, and that was to keep me quiet about a pedophile in the congregation.
he was partly able to do that by using a sister (friend of mine and also another elder's daughter, who was on my jc)by getting her to incorrectly quote me as slandering the pedo's ms brother to her.

Have you noticed an increase in JW's with one foot in the world????
by karter ini have a few examples: a witness did a job for me an asked for cash under the table.
alot of witnesses talk more about material things than anything else.
alot of complaining about the organization mostly by people that once held positions.

I have heard long time well respected JW's say the damnest things. One time I ask this old brother how he was doing......he was like the grand daddy of the JW world out in this neck of the woods....his wife was a very proper lady. He blurted out to me in response to my "how are you doing" at the curcuit assembly "all the good ones once and the best ones twice"! I was new in the lie at that time, thought JW's were the perfect, no flaws people....I was almost stumbled!

Great Experience
by ldrnomo inmy wife and i went away for the weekend and we stopped in a small town for lunch.
we sat down and just behind us in a booth were two jdumbs a man about 65 and a woman 75. as i sat down the first words i heard him say to the woman were "i used to auxillary pioneer there" that's when we tuned into their conversation.. the next thing i heard the woman say was "the only thng i think about when i come into this restaurant is that all these people are going to die".
i couldn't resist, i turned around and said "do you know somthing i don't know is the food that bad here?

Small town dubs are the worst....I know, I used to be one!
Once upon a time we took a very outspoken, old spinster sister to the memorial with us. It was about a 25 mile drive to the Hall. We also took one of our bible studies with. So this sister got into an argument on the way back with the bible study....finally the sister yelled...."you better get it figured before the almighty god Jehovah comes to destroy all those that oppose him'! We never forgot that night. It was so funny.

Before I became a JW I always felt that my relationship with God was good.........I prayed a lot, I felt good and that God loved me and everyone.
Then I got tied up with the WT when I was 18. My relationship with God became more complex and elusive. until I was not praying anymore at all. I was taught that God only loves a select few and with many stipulations.
Only after I severed my ties with the crazy religion have I felt again, my relationship with the supreme being is good again.
Yeah, once again, I know that God loves me and everyone. No thanks to Jehovah's Witnesses.

cardioversion
by Hortensia inwell, i had a procedure today i've wanted for quite a while.
i've had atrial fibrillation for years.
today i had a cardioversion - electrical shock to the heart to convert it to normal rhythm.

Sounds scary to me-cardioversion. A year ago or so I overexerted myself big time and got heart palpations. It was hot outside so I just sat down until they stopped. Now, I found out that I have gained an extra heartbeat. My thyroid took a dive and something else too right after that. I am more careful now.
I am only 49! The NBC guy that does or did, great work dropped dead at 58....
That macoroni concuction sounds deadly! I started laughing when I read that part of your post. My daughter had to ask me what I was laughing about! I really enjoy your contributions to this board. Thank you.

No school for you: confirmation of CO outline on education
by raindog ini just spoke with my dad after he returned from an elders meeting.
the co did say that elders would have to step down from their positions if they supported their child getting an education.
the reasoning behind this is that an elder is encouraging their children to attend college, they would not be able to counsel the rank and file on the issue.

Congratulations on the Dean's List and Honor Society!
I am sick at heart to hear about the college ban. I just can't stand it. Good Night!

High gas prices finally changing North American vehicle attitudes
by Simon inwhen i read that the ford f-150 is the best selling vehicle in america i wrongly assumed that it was just the best selling truck.
but no, it has been the best selling vehicle for the last 17 years!
if that is the best selling you can be sure that there are plenty of similar models from different manufacturers being bought as well.. they are huge, fuel-inefficient things and i seriously doubt that even 90% of the people who buy them really need them.

In last three years...one year we sent our daughter to Europe. She said that the cars were small and trains and buses were the way to go. Last year we were host to a foriegn exhange student from Europe. She could not get over the fact that we drove such a large car.....a Dodge mini-van! We have been involved with two other students from Europe and same thing....they don't know why we drive such big cars!
