Okay it is just wrong to let others know you call him that. It is all cute and cuddly in the privacy of your own home but come on give the poor guy a break. How can he show his face now that we know him as Pookiehead.
LOL
as my very own cuddlebear honey!
be nice to him!
(and yes, it's sick but that's just one of my nicknames for him...aren't people in love sickly sweet?

just wondering what experiences you good folks have had with the the famous (or infamous)?
Six:
If you venture into tomato photography soon you might be able to Ketch up. Or if you get into greens, the subject may say. "Lettuce be friends"
Uzzah - who is ready with sick puns on any topic!
the wts and dubs like to brag that, unlike all other religions, they are the only people preaching the truth about "this good news of the kingdom" on earth.
they claim that their most important purpose in life and as dubs is to preach that good news.. .
they use their favorite verses in matthew 24:14 and revelation 21:3,4 to describe what that "good news of the kingdom" means.
Ahh the Farkel of old returns. Great commentary my friend.
Always a pleasure to read as you slash away the doctrine of the Watchtower!

well according to the social security death benefit index, a few have....i found 25 entries for "jehovah".
http://ssdi.rootsweb.com/.
Well it does show that there are at least 25 Jehovahs that are now dead.
For all apparent purposes the other one is too.
I wonder if I can collect his social security death benefits. hmmmm

In no particular order:
Pierre Trudeau. Joe Clark, Brian Mulroney, Slyvester Stallone, Demi Moore, Nicole Kidman, Olivia Newton John (1980), Supertramp, Jeff Healy, all of the Miss Canada's and Miss Teen Canada for the past 4 years plus all the gals competing, David Hasselhoff, Charles Bronson, Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Kate Hudson, Dianne Ladd, Mike Bullard (Canadian fame), Brittany Spears, all the kids in Leahy, Richard Dreyfuss, the past two Premiers of Ontario, Past Mayor of Toronto (Mel Lastman), the entire Canadian Olympic Team from 2002 including Jamie Sele and the gals of the gold medal Hockey team. (The guys hockey team didn't associate with the rest of the Olympians).
I know I am forgeting a few but for the most part they were simply people I met just like dozens of other 'non famous people' I meet weekly. The only difference being they have their lives under a microscope. I prefer being behind the scenes rather than being in the spotlight. Most of the 'famous' people like to be treated as normal folks and miss the days when they weren't a household name. Note I said most. Some relish in the spotlight.

i got a phone call the other night, an old friend wanted to get in touch.
one of my childhood friends, and a former jw.
he invited me to go see krall, he had skybox tickets and wanted to reunite.
Hillary:
Au contraire mon ami! Diana Krall is not flavor of the month. She has written some of her own music and has been popular for at least 8 years across Canada. She has made the move into the world markets now but the talent is definitely there.
And I would say that even if she wasn't a smokin hot blonde ...

i just read the following quote.
it tied in pefectly with another thread where i noticed two people reading the same information and getting totally different perspectives from it.
if we read/listen/research with the aim of proving our point, everything we read will be biased towards that.
I just read the following quote. It tied in pefectly with another thread where I noticed two people reading the same information and getting totally different perspectives from it. If we read/listen/research with the aim of proving our point, everything we read will be biased towards that.
However if we read with an open mind (easier said than done) then we might actually learn as opposed to simply 'proving our point'.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Science has a simple faith, which transcends utility. Nearly all men of science, all men of learning for that matter, and men of simple ways too, have it in some form and in some degree. It is the faith that it is the privilege of man to learn to understand, and that this is his mission. If we abandon that mission under stress we shall abandon it forever, for stress will not cease. Knowledge for the sake of understanding, not merely to prevail, that is the essence of our being. None can define its limits, or set its ultimate boundaries.
- Vannevar Bush (1890-1974)
this is my first time posting on any site.
i am still one of jehovah's witnesses but am inquiring about information about rand cam.
i have recently been questioning my faith and the organization, due to some situations.
Gerard:
You give the Watchtower Society too much credit. They are just happy to be given money, whether it be stocks or cash. They don't question where it came from.
Most of the folks that were working in the Treasurer's office were janitors before coming to bethel, not professional stock analists.
I was handling one estate while in the Legal Dept. This old sister had died and gave her entire portfolio to Bethel. I was in the midst of transferring everything when I noticed a very well known tobacco manufacturer as one of the stocks owned. I raised it to the powers that be and that part of the portfolio was sold off.
Bethel does NOT have someone checking into the businesses of every single stock owned. If they become aware of it they sell it off.
I have been trying for 4 years to diffuse this NON ISSUE but some fanatics love to cling on to the slightest of things. There is enough to hang the Org without having to sensationalize or invent stuff. The UN scandal, the flip flop on doctrine, the pedophile files and their being sent door to door.
amac was bang on with his explaination and rather than insulting and belittling him, you might want to re-read what he said with an open mind.
Uzzah - who is eagerly awaiting his turn to be called a WT drone or ostrich
a friend asked me to research purchasing meds via email or mail from a canadian pharmacy.
a lot of americans are doing this.
this friend's sister is on femara, a breast cancer drug and her insurance will not pay for any brand names and there's no generic form.
Talesin:
I was thinking along the same lines.
Besides if there is a greater volume of sales, this means greater production at the Canadian pharmaceutical companies. Usually greater volume equals lower pricing.
We aren't at risk of running out. That is akin to saying that Canadians shouldn't buy American beer since it might mean less of a supply to the Americans. ummm not that we would buy American beer.... hmmm bad example.
Canadian drugs have to be approved by Health Canada before they are allowed to be prescribed by a doctor. Health Canada's processes are equal to those of the States. In some cases they are more stringent and in others slightly less. Sheesh it took Canada about 2 years longer before they approved AED's to be sold in Canada (Automated External Defibrillator). Whereas the States are now putting them in High Schools. (Warning - shameless sales pitch - If anyone (in North America) is interested in purchasing an AED for their businesses or groups, let me know ).
Well known drugs (such as Femara or a generic version) are likely to be just as safe regardless of which side of the Canada/US border they come from.
Regardless of where she gets her drugs, I wish her all the best in her treatments and recovery.

my name is ann, and i'm originally from armenia.
my mom and me moved to usa 2 years ago, leaving my grandmother alone in armenia.
she is a jehovah's witness and have been activly visiting the meetings of the jehovah witnesses's community in there.
When I worked at Bethel, we received hundreds of these requests every week. Mostly from Nigeria and the former Communist Bloc countries. 99.9% of them proved to be a hoax or a fraudulent attempt to get financial aid from people who may be nieve and/or gullable.
This may be a very sincere request. I just find it too familiar to all those I have received in the past. One would think someone would check out a site a little first and realize this is not a pro-JW site. But many here are still very generous and helpful which can make us easy prey for scams. (Anyone want to live on an island? )
If this is legit, this person there are other means for her to get help. I'd recommend the Armenian consulate as a good place to start.
Just consider this a voice of caution.
