  my girlfriend that i brag to everyone about, and treat like a queen, is leaving me.

  i actually got df'd over her, and have been with her for over 5 months.

  we were so close, i just totally never, ever saw this coming.

  i was reading this earlier and it reminded me so much of what jws go through with the tactics that the gb have in place for the congregation elders to enforce.. .

  (john 9:18-41) .

  .however, the jews did not believe concerning him that he had been blind and had gained sight, until they called the parents of the man that gained sight.

  Did you ever 'Turn Someone In' to the elders? Do you regret it now?

  i am not proud of that, for i know the pain i caused someone as i look back.. i turned in 4 people for 'gross sins' over my tenure as a jw.

  i wish i could take it back now.

  were these people guilty of 'sin' as defined by the wts?

  Yes. There was a gay guy at the assembly hall in Wisconsin, who wanted to play a "game" wherein we both pulled down our pants and run around the parking lot. I found out he was gay later (not that there's anything wrong with that).

  I have had a hard time forgiving myself for that to this day. When I saw the fear in his eyes at the JC, I wished I could crawl in a hole and die. My mom pushed me into reporting him, and I wasn't even a witness then (baptized). He wasn't either. That was back in the days when they could do stuff to you even if you weren't baptized.

  It was fun running around the parking lot with my pants down though.

  nutshell premise: the central doctrine of christianity is that jesus christ died in order to atone for and secure god's grace for the sins of all mankind.. then what is the central doctrine of jws?

  (it most surely is not the above.).

  iow, what, essentially, is 'the truth'?.

  There's no one thing, it is the conglomeration of the "truthful teachings" of JW's. Even though they admit they are fallable (sp), they are being led by Holy Spirit and have been chosen by Jehovah to be His religion; His people.

  New Apostate Tactic-Disrupting Telephone Conference Bridges

  it was announced last week at my hall that if you have a pin number for the audio conference bridge, you are never to give it out to strangers.. this bridge is available for elderly and shut-ins who can't be at the meetings.

  you dial an 800 number, and enter a pin for your particular hall.

  (this is amazingly high tech and convenient for the brothers.

  JW urban legend propaganda,just like guards have been posted for years at convention podium access points to "keep deranged apostates from storming the microphone"

  I'm sorry, but I personally know a "guard" who was assigned to do just that very thing at the District Assembly last year. It's NOT a myth.

  there are 3 current threads that say these very things.

  (ok, the one about armageddon says it will come within days or weeks--not months--so that means june 2007.

  seems to me this is whipping up into a paranoia bigger than the 1980s apostate scare, bigger than they've ever seen before.

  Blondie; the whole article was filled w/ references to obeying even if we don't fully understand, or disagree.

  We are to obey those who Jehovah trusts, and our "understanding" will become clear in time. Article said that Elders are appointed by Holy Spirit. Blah,blah,blah.

  I think any suggestion that the JW's will go down in the same type of manner that Jonestown did is utterly ridiculous.
