Does the Soul continue to Exist after the Death of the Body?
by Blueblades in.
do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.rather be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell....the words of jesus at matthew 10:28. so,according to jesus, the soul does exist after the death of the body.but in order not to be destroyed you must fear the one who can destroy your soul.. what a way to live!.

Do you regret ever getting baptized
by ikhandi inthousand of witnesses do it every year and for what they believe are good reasons.
i did it because i was pressured by elders.
its interesting to note how elders can target young people into committing their life to something they really know nothing about.

The Scripture They Ignore, Ignore, Ignore...
by metatron inonce upon a time a guy named jesus founded a new religion.. one of the things he - and his biographers - emphasized was "stop judging!".
he went even further, saying "stop condemning!
" (luke 6:37) the context of these.

No one on this board claims to be the mouthpiece of God yet the JW organisation does.
Prisca: Excellent point.
Proplog: Just because what Metatron says is agreeable to a great majority of the people here, does not make it untrue. Just because the Society mentions Luke 6:37 in their literature a few times, does'nt mean they practice the message in that scripture. Please cite any examples of how the Witnesses put that scripture into practice. They merely pay lip service to that scripture. You know them by their ACTIONS. If you want to continue to be a Watchtower apologist, I'm afraid the Society has not given you much ammunition to work with.

Did You Make Excuses For The Jehovah's Witness Religion?
by minimus indid you ever find yourself having to defend your faith, while at the same time knowing, that your arguments were not so good to begin with?
for example, a person might say,"you people don't take blood and believe in doctors.
" even if we might have doubts about the blood issue, we would still defend our "faith" as best as we could.

Oh, the inconsistency of it all!!
by ozziepost inover the years it has become clear that controlling bodies seeking to regulate their members are prone to inconsistencies, even contradictions.. .
the borg is not immune from that.. .
why is it that wedding rings are allowed, but confetti isn't?.

Why is it that wine and beer are okay, but tobacco isn't?
Because Jesus drank wine at a wedding party...But you never see anyhting in the scriptures about him firing up a Marlboro do you?Integ.

Elder's comment
by CaptK inthis is unbelievable.
i was at the watchtower meeting last sunday and one elder gave an answer that jw 's do not have the problems like the cathlic church where the preist are molesting boys or the church has to pay huge sums of money out to abused cases.
is he not aware what is happening within the jw organization ?

Rick Aust:
As the Elders Book says.."an Apostate is any one who disagrees with the Watchtower."
Does the elders' book REALLY say that? In those words, or are you paraphrasing? Just curious.

I used to defend the Society because I believed it. I now have a couple of concerns about what the Society is teaching.

GB on a Self Self-Destruct Course
by frankiespeakin inthe governing body continues to surround itself with yes-men.
protected inside the walls of watchtower's brooklyn bethel, they have practically no contact with the real world.
which means that the aging members of the governing body have little or no contact with anyone that can offer them corrective criticism.

In regard to the Society monitoring "apostate" websites, I would think that they definitely do it. I would think they probably give that job to guys that are really hard core loyalists who have to pass some secret test or something. It is in their best interests to keep themselves abreast on what's going on here, so they can off-set it, and we all know that the Society is all about doing what's in their best interest.

Night dream

can there be any doubt that the most gratifying feeling in the world is sipping a frigid martini by candlelight with your arms encircled around your lady's tight, tiny waist?

No. That's sounds like a pretty good scenario.
