Baptized at 5.

got this "experience" in an email.

it was sent by a sister i used to know quite well, i think she sent it to encourage me, but it has had the opposite effect.. "____________________.

baptized at age 5. the mother and father of a little girl had a bible study with xxx.

What a bunch of crap. The Witnesses still try to act like they are normal people, not a cult, or on the fringe, and growing by leaps and bounds, but fudging their numbers by having a 5 year old read a couple of paragraphs from the Watchtower mag. at a door and call it a "bible study" is part of the way they can do this. Let's be real, what kind of person would slam the door on some cute little 5 year old girl? Of course they're going to listen, or at least pretend to. UNLIKE the Witnesses, who would never be cordial enough to listen to ANYONE with other beliefs, even if it was a five year old girl.

Anyone that says it's just a figment of imagination is WRONG. I tried it once and IT DID move around, and no, I am not insane or very gullible ( ok a little gullible since I got baptized as a jw, so there goes my credibility I guess), but anyway, it did kind of freak me out. Anyone that has seen a Tv remote fly across the room into a lamp for no reason will testify to the existence of supernatural forces. There is no doubt. Those that do think it's all in 'your imagination' have never experienced something like that, so it's understandable they would be skeptical.

Before and after meetings: What was the conversational quality like?

i have been in a number of different congregations over the years, and i have to say that the level of conversation i had with my fellow believers, with a few exceptions, was rather poor.. here are some 'opening' comments.. 1) nice to see you at the meeting.

- i never understood this.

can you imagine going to a company meeting and saying to your fellow worker, 'nice to see you at the meeting'?.

Smurf Attacks Large Group of Witnesses

I am going to bring a smurf doll to the one day assembly coming up, just to see if he will jump up and say something. I think it would be hilarious if he did. In fact I would love to see the smurf take over the podium and give a talk on false prophecy. Obviously I like to fantasize. BTW: I'm only going to the first half, I promised my mom. Plus I can give you guys a report on all the fine spiritual nourishment I receive. I'm serious about bringing a smurf in though, I'll hide him in my suit jacket, until he jumps out to wreak havoc.

why should i go back to the kingdom hall?

Because it is only at the Kingdom Hall that you will receive the spiritual nourishment you need to survive the Great Day of God the Almighty. You see, Jehovah is a angry, vengeful God, who exacts "Exclusive Devotion", and how can you serve Him if you're not receiving timely reminders from the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class through ALL FIVE meetings. My mother always told me that missing a meeting was like slamming the door in Jehovahs' face, which makes Him angry. In addition, it is the only source for the "New Truth's" from God's chariot like organization.

What JW belief/idea do you disagree with the most ???

is there a particular belief/doctrine that really burns you up and makes you wonder how people could believe this, and did you as a loyal jw at one time believe in it (your most hated belief), what made you change your mind ???.

for me, i always enjoy reading the history of the watchtower (1879-1974), and how things constantly change from year to year.

the sodom and gomorrah question is hilarious .

That the 7 trumpet blasts of Revelation refer to Bible Student conventions in the 1920's. When we all know it was the seven farts J.F. Rutherford emitted in a bathtub in 1923...Geez, I wish the Society would get it straight.

what do you do when JWs call at your door now?

i have been away from jws for 20 years, after having grown up as one, a pioneer and ministerial servant.

i have rebuilt my life, am very happy and have a wife and three kids who never were part of jw.

i have moved back into the town i grew up in.

I ask them if I may avail myself of a free bible study.
