How Do You Recognize and Understand God?

since mere words do not suffice and personal experience is just that.and since the act of knowing,reaching and touching god defies all words,and one has never had that personal experience,what then?.

do life and death questions remain unanswered and answered if you believe in a belief system based on the written word of others and then your own leaf of faith?.

since there have been centuries of change in the social,political,language,geographical and religious fields and schools of thought,the current bible is incomplete,many books have been deleted from it in order to preserve the church's power.the most glaring purge was at the ecumenical council of 325ce.. there isn't much left to answer the question except death itself.we buried my brother yesterday and i wonder if he finally has his answer.. blueblades

What religion would be your favorit if had to choose?

i would say it would be the catholic cause you can do just about any dam thing you want.

and if you feel like you need to be close to god or something you can always go light some candles and wear a cross or put on a pointed hat or a white collar or deprive yourself of women or men in the case of nuns.

and you get to hear funny boys sing chants, and you also can put some real holly water on your head that the priest got from the sink oh and you can wear saint christopher's.

If you liken a pioneer to a salesman the numbers are dismal. I know pioneers that spend 70 hours a month supposedly actively attempting to make "sales". What is a sale in watchtower ease? Getting people to come to the hall. Nobody new had come to the hall in the 4 months before I basically stopped going, and the only ones that did come to the hall were mentally slow, stinky, half retarded type people. If they were "sales people" in the secular sense, they would be fired, not praised as exemplary. Getting somebody to "study" for fifteen minutes a week, cannot be considered a "sale". If that were true, sales people would be getting huge commissions for just talking a few minutes with prospective clients, and showing them their products. For there being a true "sale", the "client" would have to make some sort of commitment, such as attending the hall for a period of time, and that ain't happening.

at our house we hand out two snack-sized candy bars to each gremilin and ghoul (snickers and milky way).

we get about 20 visitors, so we have to get rid of the candy some way.

help, cuz i am like a scared baby

it's 2 am, and my whole country is asleep and i badly need to talk, and someone to hold me.

i have been out of this fucking cult for nearly two years, and i have not been bothered by demonz since then ... until now.

right.. i woke up, not able to breathe and see a thing, and i grabbed the phone to call my boyfriend, but i must have misdialed ( thank god, cuz he'd think i was nuts otherwise) and then i tried to scream, but i couldn't.

I don't understand why so many people discount the possibility of the existence of beings from the spirtual realm. I believe that there are instances when it is just the mind playing tricks or whatever, but if someone beleives in the existence of Angels for instance, or powers of good, then it stands to reason there would also be the existence of a dark side as well, seeing as we exist in a dualistic realm of opposites. I.E; Good-Bad, Light-Dark, On-Off, etc. If you are an atheist or agnostic, then you probably would not subscribe to such a viewpoint.

Fighting for the Underdog...and other JW ramblings.......

for as long as i can remember i think i've always fought for the underdog in most situations i've come across in my 33 years of life.....right from back at school, i would be-friend the looser in the class, because i felt sorry for them, and maybe because they were different.

i guess i stood out as different at the same time and maybe that was the case why, not going into school assemblies, us witnesses would sit in the "enterance hall" and have to go in after the whole school had said the lords prayer and hymn, in we'd file past all of the school all 9 of us, and i can remember other kids hissing "jo-bo" "jew" "jo-vo" etc etc at us as we filed past whilst everyone sat down.

i'd still hold my head up.. in my teens it sort of got worse, and of course i was coming to terms with my own "what direction am i gonna take in life" scenario.....this too created conflict, not just with my peers, but later with my family with all the "haven't you got a girlfriend yet" "whats wrong with you" comments....still i'd steel my resolve.. in my 20's, i started my nurse training believe it or not after being pushed into a building and construction course that i quickly abandoned (suprise it wasn't quite me, despite sticking it for a year) 1994 i qualified as a r.n despite family and friends looking at me in a strange way (you're a man, you can't possibly be a nurse!!

I really feel bad for you, and any other witness kid that has/had to go through the kind of taunting and embarrassment you had to go through. The sad, sad, sad, part of it is..... YOU SHOULD'NT HAVE HAD TO!!!!! There is absolutely NOTHING WRONG with going to school assemblies, respectfully sitting quietly while the Lord's prayer is read, or singing a school song for God's sake. It is needless torture imposed on fragile, precious, children. I know you may say that you were glad to stick up for what you thought was right, and that maybe it made you a better person in the long run, but do witness kids even know what the hell they are doing this stuff for, I mean REALLY KNOW? I did'nt. Nobody even knew that my family had been converted to JWism. I was raised a Catholic until around 14 years of age when I was dragged to the Hall and out of Babylon the Great, so I missed out on all the torture of having to make these senseless stands for the truth. I'm sorry you had to go through this stuff because the Governing Body did'nt come up with a 2 thirds vote to reverse it. Somebody needs to stop this insanity...

a jw relative brought out something i actually had to agree with.

we were discussing positive vs. negative aspects of the "truth".

she brought out that the witnesses do not participate in war, and i thought 'gee, that's probably a good thing'.

Do you grind your teeth?

i've been having horrible pain mainly the back of my head, migraine but not ya know.

well i went to the dentist to day and he seems to think it is stress <boy why would i be under stress

does anyone use one did it make the pain go away??

I tried using "Mouth Guard" which i purchased at Osco's. It's like a mouthguard football players would use, only you dip it in boiling water then put in in your mouth, and your teeth make an impression in it. Then you have it custom designed for your mouth and teeth. I use it, and it is effective for me.
