  a few days ago, i tracked down the only semi-real friend i had as a witness.

  i called her at work and left a message.

  she emailed me back, and seemed amenable to talking even though i am df.. she made a comment, "come back to jah.

  a hell of a lot nicer than anyone else i knew.. and i'm only writing this because it's not really immodest because you don't know who i am.. i never went to the kh without some homebaked cake or cookies for the elderly ones, or a small gift for someone, or some cards telling someone how much i appreciated them.

  the more i disliked a person, the harder i would try to befriend them.

  I'm curious. Are there sites which severely criticize other religions?

  i am asking this because i was always taught that the reason there are so many anti-wts sites is because witnesses have the true religion, and are therefore a special target of satan.

  satan already "has" the persons in all the other religions, so he doesn't need to whip them up into a frenzy over the lamentable things going on in their particular churches.

  satan does, however, use persons (ostensibly, like me) to slander the true god and his organization.

  hardly the topic of the week, but i just remembered this one.. a new sister was complaining to another about the heat, crowd and discomfort of the district assemblies held at the ballpark.

  the older sister stated that it was a sign of jehovah's love for his people; he was getting us ready for the horrific trials of armegeddon.. when the young sister mentioned this to me, i said, "well i guess jehovah doesn't think much of the ones in __________, us.

  Did anyone here actually enjoy meetings?

  i always found them to be painfully boring at best.

  speaking of meetings, i was in a congregation where people openly admitted that the -only- reason they went was to see who brother cassanova-wanna-be (you know, the total geek who, in the world, wouldn't be able to pay a prostitute to go out with him, but in the truth, was considered a "catch" by virtue of having a penis) was going to hit on that week.

  this brother routinely preyed upon women, leading them on, in some cases, rather cruelly.
