  it began during the last annual meeting of 2014 and now is trikling down to their watchtower magazines, this new "live and let live" attitude towards people of other faiths, or as they were known as babylon the great soon to be dead in the hands of god members.but it is a new different story, so let's read paragraph 15 from study article 15:.

  While I applaud the wishful thinking of others, I do belief that many read into Watchtower articles too deeply, to see in effect what they want to see.

  For example, hoping that Governments will see a softening of this or that teaching, is just not going to work, as the Australian Royal Commission proved. Meaning that, unless something is clearly stated in (or removed from) the KS book (yeh I do know that it's now called the Shepherd the Flock Book) it will not be admissible in court or taken as a serious doctrinal redirection.
  

  Thus until that publication removes the Interfaith paragraph from the section dealing with Apostasy, as a disfellowshiping matter ... it is pointless to get overly excited about this thread.

  from my experience within the jw organization, i understood that salvation meant a person accepted the teachings of the wbts without question as the "faithful and discrete slave," thereby placing their trust in them, not jesus christ.

  salvation consisted of being found "righteous" by jehovah and resurrected to everlasting life in an earthly paradise.

  to obtain this salvation, one needed to obey the organization's teachings, remain a faithful jw, and lead a moral life.

  Unfortunately, this statement ... Those who will not be resurrected for a crack at life will include those who rejected the life-saving message of Jehovah’s Witnesses advertised since 1919 ... is not correct. As, all who died before Armageddon will have a resurrection. And the expression often quoted as to a resurrection of life or a resurrection of judgement, refers to the outcome of a resurrected person because of their post-Armageddon's conduct only.

  If this question is asked in all seriousness, my answer would be that the specifics of salvation (for either the heavenly or earthly hope) from successive generations of Governing Bodies, is rather vague. Whether is is a deliberate attempt of maintaining a dependency on the Organization or not, I don't know. However the official position lies somewhere between being a faith based justification and a works based one.

  Like many things in our faith, much is short on details ... I guessing because ultimately its easier for them, being not pinned down.

  Removed - blood card

  i overheard a discussion between two jws, they said that when someone is disfellowshipped, they are asked to hand their blood card back to the elders.

  i had never heard of this before, is this correct?.

  Yes, I've heard of this before ... but not for a long time.

  And while many might not really care once being disfellowshiped, the stripping off a person's Bloodcard in this manner could have been used to forcefully illustrate their removal (or expulsion) from the Organization.

  i really like the red pill analogy in the matrix.

  the one guy wishes he didn’t take the red pill and would have preferred to take the blue pill.. many used to be pimi which is the blue pill and then they wake up to the fact that the gb are not who they claim to be which is taking the red pill.. they go through conflict and confusion as to what to believe now?

  What I have noticed occurring more and more these days, is how polarized people are here. But even worse, is the open ridicule of others comments. I don't like it ... and as I've said it before, it discourages newer members from commenting and only goes to reinforce the Watchtower narrative, that apostates are all about hate speech.

  However if we talk about the PURPLE PILL concept, I know that many are taking it. Call them PIMOs or PIMAs or whatever, there are a lot of people who for one reason or another are choosing to stay a Witness and attend the meetings. And clearly its their choice.

  For me personally, I do believe that the basic teaching of JW movement are right, however the Governing Body has proven themselves to be no more than just men. No more smarter that me ... nor are they any more spiritual (maybe a bit less actually). Yet am I a hypocrite for still going to the meetings? I don't think so, no more that any other person who attends, any other church.

  But yet I think that I am happier in knowing the truth about the truth, because I'm aware of ALL the facts and I can accept the responsibility in knowing them.

  So am I taking the PURPLE PILL personally, I don't know. But like the stages of grief ... I think I'm in the acceptance phase of it and I'm no longer surprised or disappointed by the Society's managers.

  joey jojo is 100% right with this one.

  Americans can cry about their rights and freedoms all they like, but the reality is that you'd have to be totally blind to not see that the US is the most violent western country in the world ... cause by cheap guns and a deeply paranoid society.

  I was going to stop commenting on this thread but, is this the best argument you guys can come up with?

  I mean really ... just by saying cult ... cult ... cult is not going to improve you position at all.

  For god's stake, just go to Wikipedia and type in 'shunning' and 'Unfulfilled Christian religiousness prophesies' and you will see how many mainstream religions still practice disfellowshiping and or have unfulfilled teachings. And then do a bit of math, you will see that the total number of people in that group, its far larger than our tiny 8 million.

  OR ... be fair and call them all cults too.

  While I did say that there was problems in the Organization ... are you telling me that we shouldn't disfellowship pedophiles, unrepentant adulterers or willful thieves? I consider it completely just that a pedophile is removed from the congregation. And yes that person has 'reaped what they sowed'.

  But Notformer ... how many is 'many of its adherents' and what 'damage' are we talking about?

  If we are talking about those who get disfellowshiped, as an ex-Elder, I can say most of those people just reaped what they sowed. But if we add the people who leave because of being 'stumbled' to those disfellowshiped, the total annually is not great percentage compared to the number of people who are actually quite happy to be a Witness.

  And when we talk about the harm or damage being a Jehovah's Witnesses, you have to ask literally what is the severity of it. And while I'm not trying to minimize the feelings of others, there are a lot of young Karens out in this world who claim 'pain and suffering' from getting cold coffee at their cafe'. In my generation, we understood that bad things happens, but we get over it and move on ... even if you've ended up being an amputee.
  

  Yes in a perfect world, there should be no harm done to anyone, particularly in a religion that claims to follow the loving message of Jesus. But in the real world, full of imperfect people, injustice will occur and people will be hurt.
