have you ever wondered why a person posts the subjects that they do?
in getting to know you, here, on this forum, i've come to appreciate certain things.
each individual contributes to the makeup of this board.
there are a lot of people that post, who make this site worth posting on. some like Yadirf that i disagree with. some who express their experiences like Jesika. the many here including you Minimus, who post some great humour. some who post some great analytical satire like Blondie or research like Refiners fire, and many more. not only do they make this site worth posting on but make it worthwhile to keep coming back for more....

i may sound like a bit of a scrooge here but i really didn't get into x-mas.i honestlly didn't enjoy it.or better yet not enjoy it but i don't get why everyone is so excited over it.don't get me wrong it was cool as hell to see my lil step daughter get all excited over her tons of presents.but i just dont get it.
you spend many hours and stressful days spending alot of money and you spend all this time setting everything up all for about an hours worth of actual celebrating it.the time ratio makes no sense to me.
it is cool however to spend a lil extra time with the family.
i dont know whether you lot have experienced this, but although i dont celebrate it, Xmas has been a little wierd. this year it just hasnt been in yer face like normal. i went out on the town Xmas eve, and there was no atmos at all....it was just like any other night out. are people giving up on the 'falseness' (as a non-religous friend of mine calls it) of it all and just use the time to spend with friends and family?
anyone else noticed this?
i dont wish to offend anyone but this is what i think.a large number of people who leave the jehovahs witness movment become born again christians or join other religious groups.but is this a sign that many who have learnt that "gods chosen organisation" is wrong have not learnt anything at all?.
maybe the prospect of facing a future without a god , a divine purpose , and a faith just too much for some people to bear.but in joining another religious group are they not making the same or similar mistakes as before?they are still putting their trust in a ancient book written by people they have never met, interpretted by other people or by themselves, they have not maybe learnt to be analytical in their thinking and to withhold trust until reasonably solid evidence is provided on an issue.. although other religious may or may not be more harmful than jehovahs witnesses if lessons on thinking and reasoning have not been learnt then we could be open to many more errors of judgment in our lives.. so does the fact that many jehovahs witnesses join other religons show that they are just moving on rather than understanding why jehovahs witness are wrong and learning from it?.
maybe they dont fully grasp that the fudamental flaw to jehovahs witness , is belief in the bible as gods word only the second being following that through an organistation .if the bible is not gods word then all religions who follow it are flawed.. of course what other people choose to think or follow is none of my buisness and i fully respect other peoples right to believe what they want, but if this world is to progress and mankind to improve in thier dealings with one another then we can not all go round living in our own little fantasy worlds , we must be brutal with ourselves in checking why we believe the things we do and trying to align our minds with reality not fantasy.. this apllies to all aspects of our lives.but if we are not honest or open minded and reasonable enough to see there are some massive problems to the bibles authenticity and divine declerations how will we be able to make reasonable decisions in other areas of our lives?

oh isnt that sweet that quote is! now i havent heard or read that saying before, and i just wonder where it orginated from? it couldnt have been 'babylon the great' could it? is this another reason why the WTS doesnt want the R&F publishing on the net?
does this quote more than imply that we cannot have salvation without "the church for our mother"? i think so.
i think its great when these 'company men' publish on the net because we get to see the JW fundamentalists true colours

i wouldnt have called anyone at that meeting a fundie. i believe that some of those who insisted on telling me that i didnt have christ because i didnt believe the way they believe, were just jehovah's witnesses with another 'name on the door'....different doctrine, same mind set.
i dont have a problem with people becoming born-again, what i have a problem with is those same people insisting that other people should believe the way they believe otherwise they are not right, or dont have christ, etc...
its this 'everything is black and white, and we're right' attitude that i really dont like. in general, its the same with all other denominations and religions.....they are all the same, no difference.
i would like to meet a christian one day who would call me a brother because i accept Jesus to be the Son of God and that God raised him from the dead....that would really be nice.
nobody has 100% truth of the bible. i feel that its beter that people are judged (if they will be) by their own interpretational mistakes rather than someone elses.

that was quite interesting to read....sounds like your dad partly just couldnt help himself in asking dodgy questions and the other part wanted to hold back.....a battle within himself....who was in control?.....himself or his programming?.....i do really feel sorry for your dad and others who are like that.....a battle of conscience and loyalty to an organisation or to loved ones.....terrible that loved ones are/can be dumped for the sake of an organisation that only exists in peoples minds. i say that because if it wasnt for the people that give their minds away to this org then it wouldnt exist at all.

i think that there a number of things about the circuit overseer's visit that stinks!
one thing that i hated was how all the elders got together to "shepherd" the flock right before the co's visit.....what bothered you about the week long visit??
