  New Light-----1986----The International Year Of Peace Fulfilled???

  they're saying the prophecy is possibly fulfilled of "peace and security and then sudden destruction" in the year 1986 when world leaders dubbed that year as the "year of peace".

  the feb.1st watchtower mentions that just as a pregnant woman over 9 months gradually has signs of a baby's growth in the womb, so too, we may have a fulfillment of bible prophecy without knowing it fully beforehand until the effects and results become obvious.

  my mother read excerpts of the wt.

  I think the WT put more into the "Year of Peace" than the UN. The UN knew that 1986 wasn't going to be devoid of war, like any other sane person, and any other sane person would just see the "Year of Peace" as just a trite phrase put on by the UN to encourage peace for the future. Anybody that can't see that is devoid of intelligence.

  Anybody See The January 22, 2004 Awake?

  today, when i came home from the hospital, i saw the back of the 2004 awake and something struck my fancy.

  it appears that it has pictures of the holy name in hebrew engraved in pyramids.

  i opened up the magazine and it was filled with even more of those pictures, and a picture of a weird looking face on page 11.

  we all know that(those who pay attention anyway, the others who dont are foolish) christmas cometh from a pagan celebration of a "false god", and it still to this day is ignorant.

  the fact is that nobody knows when jesus was born, and nobody wont know till after the end into the beginning.

  and the fact that the mothers and fathers of this world swears that they "love their children" but also lies to them about santa, people believe in fiction more then they do reality, reality is god and his wonderful creation.

  a few days ago, on the thread about ?a new view of the trinity?, rubadub voiced his disappointment as to the lack of any really new view, such as a fourth member who could turn it into a quadrinity or replace any of the members of the trinity in case of emergency.

  at the moment i just laughed, but later on i thought the devil could be a very good candidate.

  just think: under the influence of persian dualism, shortly after yhwh, the god of ancient israel, became god in the absolute sense (say in the 6th century bc, with second isaiah), satan (from a common hebrew noun meaning ?opposer?

  yesterday my girlfriend and i were walking to our car in a shopping mall parking lot when an elder and his wife drove up.

  instead of running us down with his automobile, he stopped and let us cross.

  he and his wife even smiled at us.

  My Brother Died Today

  i consider all who post here as my family.we have all been hurt in some way.my brother died today.. blueblades,who has six sisters left.mom,dad,one sister and two brothers died.i'm the only man in the family now.

  would you attend the funeral/memorial service?

  assuming that it would be held in a kh; or even if it wasn't.. this is something that's been on my mind lately; honestly, i'm not sure why.

  my parents are both still relatively young; 60 and 61. my dad has been diagnosed with skin cancer but both are otherwise healthy.. i really don't know whether i would; particularly for my father.

  I just have one warning to people if they do go to their JW parent's funeral. Expect to be "preached" to and you better have some damn good answers that make them think.

  I had to go through that a month and a half ago, and boy, did I make alot of people think.

  And yes, I do agree with 3rdson. You should attend no matter what. I had half a mind on skipping the funeral so I could dodge the barrage of "Are you apostate"'s and "You know, you're not going to get a ressurection for what you said"'s (Makes me laugh every time I hear it.) Turns out, I was making the biggest mistake of my life, so I rushed to the kingdumb hall and when the elder buisnessman gave the eulogy marketing pitch about his hope in a ressurection how he got suckered into a family-splitting cult, I just walked away.

  for me, it was gwar's violence has arrived.

  i remember loving that band so much when i first heard of them to the point where i downloaded everything they had, from album mp3's to rare bootlegs.

  LOL, I know what you're talking about. Even today, they still print articles warning about the "New Morality" that has permeated our society. Until I was 21, I didn't know that the term "New Morality" was from the 1920's!

  For me, it was Gwar's Violence Has Arrived. I remember loving that band so much when I first heard of them to the point where I downloaded everything they had, from album MP3's to rare bootlegs. I was going to buy that album while I was hanging out with my dubbie cousins at the CD store, but they saw me buying the CD and were going to report it to my elders, all because they found offense to the lead singer's lengthy fake male appendage. What made that so ironic is that one of them bought a CD by Brittney Spears, who is twice the offender as Gwar's lead singer, if you know what I mean.
