dantheman,
If you need or want someone to talk to my email is open.
a few years ago, i watched a tv program saying that nuclear bombs were missing from the former soviet union's arsenal.
they call them suitcase bombs, since they can fit in a suitcase or backpack.
today, i read an article that stated the same thing, but they are quit sure now that bin laden has a few of these in his possession.

has it ever occured to you to think about doing something nasty towards the elders of your congregation after being disfellowshipped?
do you ever get ideas about getting even with them?
maybe your way of getting even is just by being here on this forum and letting everyone know about them.edited by - jh on 16 december 2002 18:19:0.
JH,
Good post!
But, I don't think that being here and telling what has happened to so many of us, and more important that there is life after mind contol, knowing it was not just you that they were messing with, it wasn't so much personal...They treat everyone like crap after awhile...It's...It's...It's just nice to know that something that seems so personal isn't. It's cookie cutter common! I don't see things here as vengence or hate. It's about the truth about "The truth." It is about the call for justice and not revenge. (Although I could live with revenge...If I wanted it)
Farkle already said it. That everything about the JW's have been covered. Ad nausia. And in his name I make sure to have pineapple with my pizza every time. But there are so many people that are going through either the years of hell that I had as an uninformed nincompoop, or others trying to do a slow fade (?) And of course the ever mounting Df'ed/Da'ed.
Ever see Leathal Weapon 2? When Mel Gibson takes his truck and pulls down the house cause he's real pissed off. About the tower...Ya I could see that. (Some here doing that)
Anyway I am rambleing so I will cut it off here.
this is just a general question for anyone who might have some legal background on the matter.. if (and i expect there will be) an announcement is made to our former congregation that we are "disassociated", can i just go ahead and sue them (individual elders in the congregation) for slander and defamation of character?
the decision to make the announcement is one that has to go through the body of elders, right??.
is it necessary, when the elders come calling, to say "i will sue the shirt off your back and the bloomers off your @$$ if you make any announcement that slanders my name or defames my character to anyone"??
When I got to the boiling point I read up on harassment laws and when assult vairies from self defense. The bottom line is people are explosive. And JW's who think they are the "rightous"... times infinity. The thing is you have to make it perfectly clear that these people are not welcome in your presence. That is why there are no Mailboxes ect ect at any kingdom hall. They want to make it as hard as possible for you to state your desire for them to stay away. Anyone who says that all you need do is send a letter and they will remove you from a list is lying.
The hard part is to break away the JW's (Besides letting family die in mind) is they are in fact going to slander you and lie about you and defame you ect ect. And they are masters at it. They are putzes. I don't give a hoot what they say about me. EVERYONE I know knows they are full of chicken shit.
Again the key is make it clear as crystal that they are not wanted in your presence. Make them not fear the dog make them fear the owner. And I mean tell a lie about me and I will not only correct you but the whole freakin congregation on Sunday and your Aunt Martha in Dallas ya butt head I'll let her know what a liar you are too. (Worked for me)
I did not have to go to the level of the cong they know I don't bullshit. They leave me alone. (But they did test me in the begining)
hi everyone, hoping you're having a good day...i am a "newbie", posted before (re: missing my granddaughter)..well, i have been thinking long and hard, and then long and harder still and i've decided to start a suit to see if i can get grandparent visitation to see my dearly-loved "chloe" who is 6 years old.
my husband is an attorney(not chloe's grandfather) and he wants to take them on, after seeing what 2 years of being cut-off from her, has put me through.
i have an illness, and the stress of missing chloe of course makes me feel worse.
Nancy,
I am sorry for your situation. I don't know which end you are on as the WT subject or their prey. But either way people have the right to associate. On the other side there is the ideal of freedom from association. That seems to be ignored when sometimes when Grandparents are involved. I think that is criminal in the United States. Parents make decisions period I.M.O.
If the Jehovah Witnesses have the right to screw with people hurt and humilate them at weddings, funerals, in public and religous funtions, even have ex members arrested for showing up but then cry fowl when real people say no more I get real mad. Mulan is right in Washington Grandparents have zero rights to visitation. Thank God! The best thing that I can do is keep my children away from these psychos.
If you are the good guy here (We all think we are) and you loose your fight for visitation then might I recomend that you write letters to your grandchild. If you celibrate holidays and birthdays buy her a gift every year with a card and say what you are feeling. Someday when she grows up she might choose to read them. (Don't send them if your daughter will burn them, keep them with you) I don't think that the war with relgious zelots is worth fighting. If the Witnesses in my life would have stayed in it there is no doubt in my mind that verbal abuse would have become much more physical. They were already hitting my oldest child but I did not know about it until they were out of my families lives. Because of the lies, intimidation, and abuse (mental and physical) that these people inflicted on my family I will Never, Never, never let them in my life willingly. They are dead. period. If I ever even suspect that they are lurking I will take them to court for a restraining order and they know it.
I know that this whole thing is wrong. But I am not in contol of what they think they must do. And they thing that they MUST HURT in the name of their god. Sometimes people that are abusive are just plain evil. I have experienced the heartache that the Jehovah Witnesses gleefully inflict. They will rip your heart right out and not care about it one bit. 20 years of living within the comfort blanket of the inner circle is irrelevant. They will turn on you like a pack of wolves turning on one of their own with a single order from one of their leaders; It is only then that a Jehovah Witness will even begin to understand what I am saying (writing)
The reason that they don't mind being so abusive and heartless is that they don't believe that it will ever happen to them. But to ten's or hundreds of thousands of people it happens every year. The general public is unaware of this sinister abuse because most people find it so hard to explain; Even to themselves. It is so sad.
Again I am sorry that you are hurting. I hope you can find a middle ground. I have friends who have a granddaughter that they have never seen. (Nothing to do with the JW's) I can't understand how someone can love a religion more than their family. (BTW A religion is not Christ) We have adopted them and they will be spending Christmas with us.
why does god allow this stuff?
according to your teachings, believers, just so he can stroke himself and show how man has failed.
in fact believers will read this stuff and shrug it off because in the future god will fix it it and it just proves why we need god..
Realist,
I side with you on this one. Personally I don't take issue with order out of chaos. In fact I find some of the posts here quite comical. Even my 4 year old child comes up with better answers to problems than "Blame it on Rio...I mean God." (Same for giving credit too.)
P.S. Mr. Moe,
Hail to you for your post.

does being raised as a witness encourage the development of certain personality traits, good or bad?

The sowers of doubt. The actions and personality go hand in hand.

I'm with pleasuredome. Wait to worry.
i am closing my email account listed on this site.
somebody has been trying to send me viruses via the account addy but so far i have been savvy and they haven't been able to cause damage.
fortunately for me, i have 3 other email accounts.
That Sucks!!
People who create viruses should have thier fingers smashed with a hammer one at a time.
recognising that this board is mainly for ex-jws/anti-jws/in the process of leaving/......... i'm interested to know how many here out of the thousands that post are pro-jw (or wt apologists to be more politically correct here) be that inactive/active, but still holding to the faith.
(p.s.
i'm not a p.o/c.o/ member of the gb either before u ask!
ScoobySnax,
Your question is not all that logical. This ideal that multiculturalism holds of "balance" is hogwash. The ideals that no one is ever wrong and we are all OK is bogus. I defend people's right to be a Jehovah Witness and at the same time defend the right to not be one. What I find so unacceptable is how this group goes around screwing with peoples lives with impunity. IF they were any other type of Organization other than Religous they would be out of business so fast. But the shield of religon is very strong. Many of the people here agree and disagree on many many topics that are posted. From war to sex to marraige and on and on. That concept of free speech is impossible inside the body of that Organization. Even you being here (If you are/were a JW is a crime) that's nuts. I think you should be free to examine all the "facts" from reputable sources and present them free from retaliation and retrubution. Mostly you should not be afraid or intimidated.
The JW's fight for all of these principals in court. Like the silly law passed in Ohio. (Do I need to quote it) I think that the JW's were right on to fight that law. It would be bad to allow the Government to contol you talking to your neighbor. ( A licence for free speech) So here (on that) I support them. On other things I do not. Your questions are always all or nothing. I can't do that. And I guess that is why I never got through one single "Bible Study" or conversation with the JW's in my life (about worldly, or religousness) without them getting all bent out of shape. As they said, "IT DOES NOT MATTER IF WE ARE WRONG! WE HAVE THE TRUTH!" How can you reason with that?
On Sat I got roped into selling charity pizza discount cards for my child's Christian Acadamy. All the shunning by people because I was peddling something that they did not want. (Not even a response to my "hello".) It kind of sucks. I would have much rather just bought my quota and forgot the whole "Will you support the children" thing. It made me more sympathtic to the "Service work" that JW's do. All the door slaming in your face. I got a small taste of what they go through. If not for being here I would have never been faced with the "All Jehovah Witnesses are not all bad question." My issue is that I could not name one thing that is positive about them. And I do believe that you should look for the good in things. At that time I had not one thing that I could be sympathetic to or even one positive thing to say. Even what I read other people posting did not quantify to the level of "being good" to me. But that feeling first hand, the lack of even a "hello" people being mad just for me being there blah, blah...It make me see things through the eyes of what the Jehovah Witnesses experience. That was an eye opener for me. I hate selling things. And, things that people don't want? No way...But now I can understand what these guys at my door are going through from my experience. I will not slam the door (Unless it is an elder comming to put my family down) I will show some respect. And that might be weak but it is a start.
Being here got me to think about the good. If not for being here I would not have ever thought about things from their side again. Just because one person sees things as a negative, or even the posters say a negative, there can be a positive outcome.
Balance is a joke. And so is "fair". The counterbalance to the nay sayers is well protected inside their halls. Doubt is unacceptable. Opposition is not recognized. Uniformity as Unity period. That is not the way the real world works. And, some things are just plain wrong. I.M.O. Zelot behavior is one of those things. And I have experinced that the average Jehovah Witness is not just "zelous" they are "zelots". And that can carry over even if you leave the "Truth".
If you are looking for people that are 100% for the Jehovah Witness stance on all things published inside a Watchtower Magazine they are not here. As I understand the rules being here at all disqualifies them from your survey. Am I wrong? If they are not 100% with the Watchtower stance then they are not "Pro" Jehovah Witness. Am I wrong? If you are asking about JW doctrine well they have hung themselves on that. But I guess they can always fall back on "Even if we are wrong we are the truth". I just don't buy that kind of logic.
there are approximately two billion children (persons under 18 ) in the world.
however, since santa does not visit children of muslim, hindu, jewish, or buddhist (except maybe in japan) religions, this reduces the workload for christmas night to 15% of the total, or 378 million (according to the population reference bureau).
at an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that comes to 108 million homes, presuming there is at least one good child in each.
"Santa" works just like "God" does. IF he exists who does the work?
