Are you talking about the JW understanding? I'm a little confused because you referenced the anointed, JWs believe this guy is going to be in paradise earth, and they say Jesus statement about 'today' means that Jesus was saying he was making this promise that day, not that he's giving the convict the benefits of the promise that day.

Why did Jesus tell the convict on the cross next to his, that he would be joining him in Heaven TODAY??
by Faithful Witness inmaybe a silly question, but i'm curious about this part of the story of christ's crucifixion, when the 1 thief challenges jesus to save himself and "us too" from their deaths, but the 2nd thief rebukes him and pleads with jesus... .
luke 23:42-43: and he said unto jesus, lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
and jesus said unto him, verily i say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise.. .

Over 300 Partakers in Reno, Nevada! Men Women & Children 12 Years old,
by objectivetruth inthe governing body is powerful, but the holy spirit is infinitely more powerful.
if the wt ever changes, it will be because of a movement such as this.. .
but sanctify the christ as lord in your hearts, always ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of you a reason for the hope in you, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect.

That's a lot of events to happen since the memorial was less than 3 days ago. Next time you make up such an elaborate story I recommend giving it at least a week to post.

So in other words people will go all willynilly
when there is no King, go berserk.
This is what the author of Judges is trying to convey, yes. You don't have to agree with his opinion to understand the one he has.
What kind of mental state were these people in. They needed a mythical
God a higher power to keep them in check..
As I've told you, the point to this story is that they were looking to a king to keep them in check, not a higher power.
So how did he decide which body part would be sent to the 11 tribes.
Who's he? If you mean god it doesn't say that god made the decision (or suggested it) If you mean the master of the house, I have no idea how he decided.

"-- Without affirming the content of their faith, commend their religious commitment in order to build goodwill. "
Oh dear, where have I heard that before?

"Well I can see from you folks comments, there is no reason
why this story was included in the Bible."
No, bella15 already told you, it's in the bible because the author of judges wanted to build support for a king by telling stories of what happened when there wasn't a king.

Do/did you sing in the Kingdom Hall meetings against you will?
by Mr Fool ini m a little curious because i have hard to see that every single person has the interest to stand up and sing in the beginning and in the end of every meeting...... what will happen if you are interested in the so called truth, not to stand up and sing a song against your will?!
then, is it okay to sit down like normal when everybody else copy each other (stand up an sing a certain text/song) as parrots?.

I gave up singing a few months before giving up meetings. Noone mentioned it, but then I always stood up.

Something to pay attention to, if you go to the Memorial...
by undercover ini'm cutting and pasting from one of my own posts from some timem ago.
if you're having to go to this thing tonight, pay attention to how the speaker explains the timing of events at the passover meal, and then compare that to what the bible actually says.... an oldie, but one of my better goodies, i think.... .
yes, it's time for that annual ritual...no, no...not the ritual of nibbling on crackers and sipping cheap wine, but the ritual of comparing wt teachings of how jesus instituted the memorial versus what the bible actually says.. current wt theology.... as cut and pasted from their own website:.

The worst part was the invitation to study at the end. The speaker says that if we want to benefit from the ransom we have to find out God's rules, and we can do that by studying the bible with a JW, but he then said 'Jehovah doesn't ask for very much, there's a scripture that says' what does Jehovah ask back from you except that' and then there's a very small list, it's really not asking much'
So I found that scripture:
“Now, O Israel, what is Jehovah your God asking of you?+ Only this: to fear Jehovah your God,+ to walk in all his ways,+ to love him, to serve Jehovah your God with all your heart and all your soul,*+ 13 and to keep the commandments and statutes of Jehovah that I am commanding you today for your own good."
Really!? That's not a lot to ask! I can't do all that, surely that's the point of Jesus!?

I went, and so much for love bombing, not one person spoke to me, not one!
The speaker at my memorial asked the kids which animal they'd like to pet. He told us to imagine petting a lion cub and getting a real bear hug which got a laugh from the audience. I'm quite amused that this was in the outline. I'm in London, UK.
The chairman also offered his prayer through 'our mediator, Jesus Christ, amen'
