  i just wanted to say thanks to all on this board,if i have a bad day i come and read some threads and just sit and laugh,some of you are so funny,if i need answers to any questions, you answer,if there is a debate going on i can't wait to read the next thread to see how it ends.you give me a reason to keep going everyday.simon ,i would also like to thank you ,if not for you this life saving sight and letting these people be themselves ,many of us would not be here to help others or ourselves.i hope all of you really realise how important you are and the help you have brought to so many.

  Insight into Death ?

  this is not intended to be a morbid post but because of the nature of the topic i guess it is anyway!

  have you ever heard of a long time terminally ill person who could live a few years more yet seem to know that they were going to die in the next couple of days?

  my grandfather called my cousin into his room a few years ago and told her that his funeral was happening before his eyes, he could see it, he died that night.. anyway, back to the original ?, have you heard of similar things?

  Personally I believe when we die we go someplace else. There has been a lot of stories of dying people that just before they have died they have seemed at peace and even called and reached out as if talking to someone who is not there, in some instances they have called out a name of a relative that has passed onto the other life before them.

  i am a newbie and apparently very naive.

  i in reading different threads, lurkers have been mentioned.

  my initial thought was "lurking" meant people like me reading for awhile and eventually posting.

  Two different kinds of Lurkers, theres ones that read but at first feel a little scared of posting - no probs then there is the ones that look around and maybe are searching for ones to DF but dont paint yourself with their brush as you clearly are not one of them. What I always say (and it comes true!) "What goes around comes around !"

  there is this funny anecdote i remember from my jw days that i would like to tell:.

  in the mid seventies there was a french movie released over here about .

  the story of david & goliath,and some jw's of our congregation wanted to see it.. now this movie of which i forgot the title was nothing special but as is usual .

  I know a group that watched a movie a few years back cant remember which one but they said that they should of walked out. Anyway this Bro had a little Mini (thats the care - so get yer minds out the gutter) and he said that the car got posessed driving home and steered itself towards another car and the brakes jammed. - te he is what I say!

  do you feel a memorial on a hwy is offense?

  here in wisconsin, around 6months ago we had a terrible crash on one of our freeways because of fog and driveing to fast for conditions.there were many casualities, anyway many persons who loved ones died in that crash have memorials at the sight such as crosses ,flowers ,etc.well it seems the county were this happened wrote letters to all persons leaving memorials to stop ,their saying it is a road hazard and a distraction to drivers.well now we hear it is non religious people are complaining , saying it is offense to them to have to drive by these shrines.

  i feel if they dont like it they should close their eyes.

  Thats very sad. There should be something there as so many people died. I remember when a kid had an accident outside my road, the parents of the two kids put a professional sign up saying "In Memory of Wayne & Gemma, please wear a seatbealt and dont speed" there was then flowers around this, was very tastefull. People are dealing with their greaf and thats their way, so people who were not involved should butt out and let it happen.

  Trouble is when you have an argument you tend to say things you dont mean ! being a bloke I know that after you have said it, it is hard to go back on it, but you said he apologised so thats even better. Yeah its upsetting and it would hurt me but we all say things in anger, dont beat yourself up too much about it, its probably the first thing that came into his mind.
