How about... They have been predicting the end of the world for 200 years and made dozens of false predictions and their credibility is shot?

Please get our destruction in the proper order!
by shotgun ini was wondering if any one on the forum have discussed the end of the gentile times with the elders or jw relatives to see thier response.. in particular the sequence of events in luke....it begins with the sign of jesus presence..... 1) critical times hard to deal with...signs of last days, wars..etc..... 2) then the great tribulation.... 3) then during the great tribulation the end of the gentile times which cuts the destruction short so that some are saved.. how do they respond when its pointed out the wt teaches this sequence which is contrary to the bible.
1) the gentiles times ended.
2) critical times hard to deal with..last days..etc.

? re: nose bleeds
by beepers ini was talking with my brother the other day and he asked me " what were you suposed to do when you got a nose bleed?
if the blood runs down the back of your throat.
" he said that technically that would be eating the blood in the eyes of the jw's.

The Gist of it.
by Dia infor as long as i've been here, i have continually been trying to learn, 'what is the thing that jws have in common?
', 'what is it that connects them?
', 'why do people become a jw?'.

Fear and ignorance.
Fear is their motivator. Ignorance empowers them to control the minds of others.
Heres my best JW impression.
At first they dazzle you with this bright shiny object...Everlasting life on a utpoian earth... oooo pretty isn't it?
You want that dont you? Live forever, nothing to worry about, perfect health... yeah nice isn't it?
Well you can only get that if you are a "true christian". And you are a true christian if youa re a member of the JW's and you show you are a "true christian" by bringing more people into the JW's and we'll teach you how to do it. You see first you look at them and you dazzle them with a bright shiney object and say "You would like to live on a paradise earth where no one dies or get killed or gets sick don't you?" And then you say that you can only get into this utopia if you are a true christian... blather blather blather.
Repeat Circular Logic until nauseous and are lying on the floor twitching in paraoxysms of self induced guilt.

If the JW's told you that something is bad.
There is a 75% chance that that something is either fun, feels good, or could possibly enlighten you.
Do everything they have told you not to at least once. Remember that you are free to think for yourself and do not have to let others do that thinking for you

Dating non-Jehovah Witnesses
by ClassAvenger in.
why can't jehovah witnesses date or marry people that are not jehovah witnesses?
thanks.

Here.
I'll save you the time of dating a witness, and give you the experience of what its like to get involved with them even in a cursory way.
Go to the pawnshop.
But a .22 cal pistol.
Load it.
Aim it at your foot.
Pull the trigger.
There. Now imagine doing that to yourself every single day for the rest of your life.
Thats what its like to be a "Witness".

Why aren't you a believer?
by therealtruthsayer inthere were times in my life when i wondered to myself "am i making a mistake by leaving "jehovah"?
" at this point i know i have no doubts because why would a loving god kill everyone on earth who isn't a witness and i don't think that the true religion of god would be delivered to a white man in america.
that's why i'm no longer a believer.

Have a read and revel in the fact that you are now a person free to make your own descisions about things.
The facts remain that there is no supernatural monotheisic god.
Atheism has always been welcoming new members! Best part about it is you don't have to go beating on doors and dedicated your life to an errant human organisation to be an atheist.

they are coming to get me
by Curious Mind ina bit of background first.
i was raised a jw and baptized at 15 although to say i was dedicated was stupid, anyway began to fade with my wife after we were married and finally broke away about 10 years ago although we were not da,d or df,d.
three years ago i decided to do what i had always wanted to and joined the airforce which i am immensly proud of and enjoy greatly ,somrthing i could never say about being a jw.

There is no honorable way to leave the JW's.
They make sure to pile on as much guilt as possible to make you stay in thier fishbowl.
Yet another victim of monotheistic fundamnetalists.

JWs Say Good-Bye to Veteran's Stadium!
by Funchback ina letter was read this week at the philadelphia area kingdom halls that this year's district convention will be held in norphilly (north philly) at the liacouras center (temple university's indoor arena).
this is the first time the philadelphia district convention will be held indoors.
here's what people will miss at the vet (feel free to add to the list): .

I have a scar on my back where one of those embossed metal seat numbers, you know the ones on the back of those murderously upright seats, burned the number 216 permanently into my back.
We got to the stadium at noon. The circus was next door, stinking to high hell, elephant dung punctuating lunch. I sat down in that chair and I distinctly remember hearing the sizzle of flesh. That little metal tab had to have been sitting in the sun for eight hours or more getting hot.
Uh eighteen years of life flushed down the toilet and I had no say in the matter.

Road Rage Kills JW; Should Mom Commit Suicide?
by Funchback inquite an interesting (and sad) story.
in my opinion, the victim's mom echoes the thoughts of many a jw, that being this: that jws are the only ones who know how to cope with tragedy.
what she says, in effect, is: "unless one is a jw, they would kill themselves over this.

what to believe now?
by christopherceo inthis is my first time posting here or on any ex-jw forum but i want to know if anybody else is not sure what to believe anymore.
paradise on earth sounds great and it was drilled into me for 11 years, it's just kinda hard to shake.
what about armageddon?

raistlin_majere
Holmes,
You have been stuck in a fishbowl painted black on the outside to keep you from seeing something else that might actually be better than what "was drilled into your head for 11 years". There is world out there with people one hundred billion times better than those you know within the "Congregation".
I would tell you to go read books on everything you were told not to. You may still feel a need to defend the Jehovahs Witnesses. Don't. They need be exposed for the crooks they are, and harbor aid and abet.
You will eventiually get to enjoy tearing down all the walls that they placed up around you.
