i have finally come to grips with my need to exit the jehovah's witnesses forever.
i told my parents today that i'm leaving the jw religion behind forever.
Decisions like that must be hard.
I just simply faded my way out, and that was hard enough to deal with. At the time it was due to more personal reasons and not because i didnt believe. But after a while, you start seeing grey areas, it isnt all black and white.

i was reading the thread about the prospect of the wts releasing some new light shite about a prophecy to fulfil the fact that they are not growing and it brought back a really horrid memory, unintentional i know but horrid nonetheless.. the co visited the congregation were i was from and after the obligatory song and prayer, it was announced that the co needed to speak to us urgently on a local needs issue.
he came onto the platform his look was sombre and melancholy (nothing new there then).
he said he had an announcement from the governing body and that their had been a law passed that day which banned jw's in the uk that the usa and other world governments had notified the wts that they were to follow suit shortly.
They always use scare tactics ...why?
They dont encourage by mentioning good positive things etc....its usually always scare tactics.
It's not fair. No wonder they are all screwed up.
two of the elders on my appeal committee called me yesterday to let me know they are upholding the decision to df me.
of course, there was no question that they would do that, i even told the guy last time he called that i only appealed to buy some time before the announcement to visit with my jw family.. the interesting thing is how long this has drug on.
my original committee decided to df me towards the end of january, i appealed at the beginning of february, and now i'll finally be announced near the end of march.
When someone appeals a decision to be disfellowshipped, they usually get a committee made up of ones that have had nothing to do with the case before. Thats the case over here in australia. What about over there? Is it done any differently.
hi all, just dropping by and throwing out a question or two.. two of our department managers are both very obese and therefore cannot do all the tasks that their positions require of them.
as a result of that, the peak time workers, those working while the store is most busiest, end of doing a lot of the physical work they leave for us.
it gets pretty hectic when people are trying to shop and we are getting out ladders and stocking shelves.
I am overweight.....doctors would probably call it obese. I am about 50 K overweight and losing it....i have already lost about 15 K.
Obesity isnt a disability.....A disability is something you cant help.....but you can help being overweight if it is caused by overeating....some people cant help it because of some other reason. But you cant explain it away if you are eating chips etc.

a friend of mine told me that an elder said to him, "i've noticed that all the elders in the congregation are doing well financially, because they put jehovah first.
they have nice cars and big homes.if you put jehovah first, he will take care of you financially.".
i don't believe god does this kind of thing - otherwise, why are there so many poor elders in developing countries who can't even afford a bicycle to get around?
In the case of me and my husband, i would answer no.
We tried the best we could to put him first when we went to the meetings. We went so far as to sell things to go to assemblies etc.......and stuff like that......did he make us better off financially or bless us in some way?

on the 20th of march, introduces a change in the df and da announcements.
announcements will read the same: "[name of person] is no longer one of jehovah's .
those who do not comply with its instructions regarding blood,
voting, joining the military, etc.,
I notice you mentioned voting......isnt voting a matter of conscience......that was the last i heard over here in australia...........
