Scooter, that sounds like so much fun. Hawaii is really beautiful, and relaxing. Hubby and I just booked a 7 day cruise in March for our 10 year anniversary. Going to Jamacia mon. Good luck, and have fun.

the watchtower society goons, in a power drunken stupor, are once again caught with their pants down, this time exposing their diabolical plan to undermine and exploit natural family love.. audacious, even for the watchtower, the message of the august 2002 kingdom ministry rings loud and clear to the rank and file: emotional blackmail can force your family back to us!
"after hearing a talk at a circuit assembly, a brother and his fleshly sister realized that they needed to make adjustments in the way they treated their mother, who lived elsewhere and who had been disfellowshipped for six years.
immediately after the assembly, the man called his mother, and after assuring her of their love, he explained that they could no longer talk to her unless there were important family matters requiring contact.
This crap just makes me sick. This is such a sensitive subject for me because both of my in-laws are still in. We dont see my father in law much because he is in another state, but my motherinlaw lives 2 miles away. My hubby and I are both out and the rest of all his side of the family are in. What gets to me the most is, they have shunned him so bad, but his mother who is a jw, married a man (worldly) fresh out of prison. This man did 15 years for murder. She knew him from before he went in because they used to live together before he went to prison. Now, here is what gets me the most. She marries him, he tells the elders that he doesnt belive in the jw's teaching and it is a cult. Ok, now they know where he stands. He starts beating the 15 year old daughter (my husbands sister) and mother has him removed by the police. Then hubby kicks his ass, and I mean literally beats his tail, and the family jumps on him. The mom lets this fool back in her house to do it again. We have washed our hands of the situation, but everyone that I talk to just says she is the most wonderful witness they know. Oh btw, she watched this man hit her daughter in the jaw with his fist, and let him back to do it again. I called child protective services, and she was removed from the home.
So the family will shun the df or da, and let the ones that do the most damage sit right in the middle of the kh, and go door to door.
Sorry so long, It just really gets to me when this crap happens. And I know one of them will really need him one day, and he isnt even going to answer the phone.

hey everyone....just letting you know tink will be having her surgery finally at 7:00am tomorrow morning (9-26).
they originally said they could not do it till 10-3....but we got that changed right quick...tink broke red on them...(southern term for kickin some ass)...she's holding her own considering the time she has been in constant pain....never complained once....everything should go fine and she'll be home some time on friday...the doctor that is doing the surgery keeps his patients overnight even with orthoscopic surgery...i'll let ya'll know tomorrow how she's doing...i got it under control..i'm taking the rest of the week off to be with her.
cc
CC, Tink is lucky to have you. She will be just fine. If they do have to do it by opening her, that's how mine was done, and I was just fine. Just a little more sore that the other thats all. She seems like a tough gal, she's going to do just fine. And trust me when I say, if she has been sick like I was with mine for years, she will be so happy once it is done. She will feel like a new person.
Good luck

recently, i have had a few occasions when it's been neccessary - no, essential - that i say sorry to someone for something that i have said or done, in order that someone's hurt feelings are healed.. it doesn't make me feel demeaned at all when i say sorry, i don't feel any less of a person because i have apologised, although i am aware that some people find it almost impossible to apologise.. what do you think?
is it a sign of weakness to apologise?
is apologising a desirable thing?
I think it is a good person who can apologize. And once it is said, it is forgotten. The other person should not keep rehashing what happened. Keep on steppin, forgive and forget.
mamashel
thats all i had to say for tonight.
goodnight world.

You said it seed! It really is. Sometimes we make things so complicated, and we dont even need to.

ok, here's my question.
how do you go from being a jw to being a whatever (methodist, lutheran, etc.
) i've been invited to go to many churches with friends, but, i have no desire to ever set foot in any church.
My feeling on this subject is alot the same. I really have a desire to go to church and to serve God, but I just dont quite know where to start. I actually called a prayer line today on a program I was watching on tv. They were rejoicing at the fact that a JW had left the organization and was interested in church. It might still be organized religion, I really dont know, but I think I will choose a church that is non-denominational. It seems to be alot different than some of the big name type churches.
Just a thought though. Good luck
