Why do some here refer to themselves as "Apostates"?

the only real definition of apostate i ever had was from being raised a witness.

so, i have this idea that it is an evil, wicked thing.

because of that i dont like to call myself an apostate.

In the early days when America was still a British Colony the lower class American born commoners had the cheese they liked, it was called John-cheese. The peasants smelled of this cheese and the Royals would refer to them in a derogatory way by this smelly cheese. It came to also mean freebooters, or pirates. At the time of the revolution the Loyalists, (over 30% of the population) felt those who supported the rebels were pirates and called them Yankees, (John-cheese). The Rebels said, "Fine we are Yankees and proud of it!" Thus the song, Yankee doodle dandy!

Do you buy flowers? or should he only? and if you are a guy, do you care?

when i was single and not dating anyone, i bought myself flowers if i felt like it...they just add that extra touch to the home.. .

but when dating, i tend to not buy them as much, because i don't want the guy to feel bad.. .

for instance right now.. my bf has messed up big time and although i would prefer he picked me up flowers for just the 'i am thinking of you" kind of thing.. i realize most guys do not do that... but he keeps talking about picking me up flowers.. he has for a month!

Sorry to hear about situation,((hug))!

My GF was sick last week and I had flowers set to her house. But I am the kind of person that will stop and buy a goofy card and write some silly sh*t in it and mail it. I do stuff like that all the time. I also will fix things that I notice are broken and not say anything about it. I grow yellow roses and cut them and have them in the house all the time. The stupid cats love to eat them! Mav

" few of them however, will admit that their leaders are intentional and calculating liars, dirty rotten lying liars who lie in order to blind their flock and to conceal their own dirty laundary and miserable failures in both doctrine and policy.

i'll give but one example.

As for the WTS.....Please...................!

The J-dub masters act like the benevolent father figures who are all wise and kind. If a company is not performing in a profitable manner, the owners don't fire all the workers, they fire the CEO, or the group of managers who set the pace and oversee production. In the military they demote or remove the CO. Not in the WTS, they beat the slaves with guilt and guile. The management of the WTS NEVER except any responsibility for the lousy production and poor return per manhours worked of their, "all volunteer" peasant force. A worker is worthy of his/her wages. The WTS pay theirs just what they themselves feel the RF are worth, NOTHING! They give the work force nothing but stale spiritual food, empty promises, false praise and push them to do more. A womans tears

this is really for the guys, but i know the woman here will have some great insights for us stupid men so i hope y-all will offer up your best.. when the woman i am with starts to tear up or cry i feel totally helpless and useless.

this is one of the most dreaded situations i as a man can ever find myself in.

my older brother, the retired police chief, would get angry if a woman started to cry when he was writing her a ticket, he felt it was an act.

as i explained in my first thread i left when i was 18, but first started doubting at the age of 11, after a specific incident.

i'd like to tell that story now.
