I wonder what would happen if the Governing Body decided to drop the shunning of those who do not want to go along with the program? How many closet dissidents are out there in J-dud land? Would they lose a million publishers? Would the exposure of their whole tissue of lies just unravel the organization? We have a lot of lurkers checking these sites. I contend a happy J-dud would never come here. So their not 100% pure J-dud loyalists. Maverick

Well, my family,(both sides) is French. I am a second generation American. My grandparents came here in 1926. My daughter spent some time in Paris when she was 15. The first thing she said to me when she got off the plane in Tampa was,"Ah a man that smells good!" She was unimpressed by the people there. We should send them a couple of tons of soap and shampoo and ashtrays. And tell them to get over it and go paint something! I'm happy I'm here. Maverick

XJW's Converts vs. Raised-in-its - is there a difference
by Deleted inmorning all:.
as an adult convert to the j-dubs i chose the religion.
unless you agree with newboy that we all chose it as we cycled through this reincarnation.. when you choose something and then conclude it is seriously flawed do you lose the right of complaint?

Animals thread covered a lot of this. But it is a good question. I was 24. And I often wonder what the hell was I thinking? And my ex wife being a dirt bag got me to start thinking. I might have spent my whole life being abused by the GoverningBodyGod and their priests. I have no excuse! I willingly went along with most of their BS. And I believed it. All the way. Blackguard is a friend of mine,(twenty plus years) and he slowly helped me to get wise. I visited him at the end of this last year and he slapped me around and his family fed me coffee and vegamite and I slowly awoke from my stupor! I am glad my 18 year old daughter never took to the J-dud life. Her mother tries to extort her and lay guilt on her but I had custody and the girl is way too smart! Tell me, do I have a 'right' to complain. Maybe not.Can I offer comfort to the rest? Try and stop me! All I can do is offer my experience and insights, such as they are. And hope I can undo some of the harm I was a party to. Maverick

I as sure it was disappointing to lose. But you went for it and nobody can take that away from your boys. The only real losers are them that don't try. Some of the most successful people are the ones who put it out there and risk it all. You seem to me to be a stand up guy and your boys will see that. Yours, Maverick

Dear blondie; Love your post! The point about having 200 people on the writing commitee is an interesting one. What amazes me is the convoluted, indirect manner in which the articles are written. The subject is dropped up and down, forward and back like a carney working the Ball and Cup! The misdirection is very finely executed.
The use of supposition and quasi-logic appears to be designed to lose the reader in ambivalence. This conflict of 'to show love then you must hate' mentality is impressed on the reader over and over again. It softens the brain to just except all the Society's reasonings without question.
Am I wrong or are the articles very wordy? They do seem to take 'the long way round the barn'. Could this be a part of their trying to overwhelm the reader? They do have to fill those column inches with the same drivel week after week. My editor would red pencil about half of the material in these articles if I wanted to get them published. Thanks again, Maverick

Masonic Symbols On The Cover Of The Draw Close To Jehovah Book
by ColdRedRain in.
i don't know if anybody has noticed yet, but today, i folded in the cover of the "draw close to jehovah" book and i noticed the bible turns into a pyramid, the clouds turn into a masonic "s" on top of that pyramid and "jehovah" becomes "jah".. freaky....

I wish all the J-duds would fold their literature back and forth eighty or ninety times. They'd be so busy they wouldn't read all the crap on the pages. And in the end, the print would be all wrinkled and they couldn't read it if they wanted to! Be good exercise too! Hey! Where's Blackguard, he loves all this conspiracy stuff! My older brother holds three patents and I am going to talk to him about inventing a machine for recycling all the J-dud literature into T-paper. We could civilize the whole world with that stuff! Then all those trees would have not died for nothing! Maverick

those sick bastards are winning
by kls inwith the un on the tv all the time my husband is just stuck to it waiting for jw prophesis to come true it is so sick , you can just see the mind minulipulation going on in his head.i have been reading about the un and the watchtower in threads and in freeminds , i was not surprised but very hopeful that this maybe what i need to finally get my husband to see the sickness of this cult.i printed out the photocopy on freeminds and showed it to him ,also everyday he reads the dailytext thats supposed to have bible verses for each day, i compared his text with the bible and found many differences and each text ends with the wt page and yr this verse was in.well i confronted him and holy crap he went nuts , screaming , it's all lies that is an apostate sight, anyone can print anything about us.i told him i could send a letter to the un for conformation, well that did it he threw a cup and smashed it and looked crazed.you would think after all these yrs of him being in a cult i could accept it , but i can,t ,i know what it is and it makes me sick , i am starting to believe these sick asses are going to win, one way or another i will get away from this.
the despise for this cult grows by the minute.
the only thing keeping me sane is all of you , i feel very cared for here ,you all can think for yourselves and say how you feel, i think i know all of you more then my husband of 29yrs.

Dear KLS: The poor man is sick. He is not mentally healthy. He has invested so much into the WatchTower fantasy he just can't see his way out. The more you show him it is a work of fiction the worse he will act. It is emotional, like attacking ones beloved mother! You may not be able to do anything with him.
Now what about you? Just as he has invested so much into the J-dud world, you have invested many years in him. You need to weigh in out. Can you deal with this situation? Are you better off with or without him? If you challenge him be prepared for the worst. Only you know the answers. I am sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear. But I speak from the heart. A true friend with tell you what you need to hear and not just what you want to hear.
If you want to stay...stay. And leave him be about the J-duds. In the end you have to make up your own mind. I wish you peace, Maverick
