It's Mindboggling
by El Kabong inso many here talk about their experiences with the jw's.
we talk about how mean and hateful the people in the congregation were to us.
so we find a board like this one thinking it's going to help us to heal.

I think you have valid points, but do consider, often we find what we seek. When I scan the posts some turn me right off and then I turn them right off. Some times I'm in a silly mood and write silly stuff, some tick me off and I vent a little. It is hard when you can't see who you are responding to. I treat the young and tender, the genteel, different than the hard-headed smart alecky types. And some times I misjudge or am outright wrong in my assessment. People here are at different stages and points in life. Maverick

Persecution Proves JWs are the Only True Religion--Right?
by blondie inso often when the wts reports about persecution of jws they conveniently forget to mention that other religions in the area are receiving the same treatment.
if you are an active lurking jw on this board, i invite you to check the search news engines and see that jws are not being singled out.. http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2003/006/15.26.html.

You're right Blondie, with the J-dud Masters anything can be used to 'prove' theirs is the only true religion. More members=Gods blessing, less members=Gods cleaning house, freedom from the governments=Gods blessing, perecution=satan attacking the true religion. The sun shinning= Gods blessing, rain=Gods blessing. I could do this all day but you get the idea. What a bunch of fakes! Maverick

Thanks Blondie. They paint shunning family members who are Duds in a negative light, the hypocrites! And put the burden on the Sisters. In 23 years I'm known of only two men who came in after years of mistreating their wives. And in both cases the sisters knew all about them and they were treated with contempt by the sisters. The brothers didn't seem to care. After-all they're just women, who cares what they think or feel. Maverick

How has the org changed you emotionally?
by obiwan ini'm just wondering how everyone was changed by the wts emotionally.
i find that after going through being df'd and the shunning, the general loss of everything that i'm much harder, i give people less sympathy than i used to, things that are seriuos such as deaths and the like just don't move me much.
i feel desensitized, sorta detached i let so much just roll off my back than i used to.

I HATE all organized religion. And actively seek ways to be a big pain in the rear with the J-dud masters. Maverick

Love for the needy in the borg
by LeslieV insince i am responsible for financial services at a very large salvation army in nys, i received a grant that helps the needy in rural areas in nys.
i was looking through our large data base for names of people in certain zip codes.
guess what i found!!!!

Thanks for the information. The governing body does not care about the needy. They only care that their needs be met. There is no profit in looking after widows and fatherless boys. You can't even count it as field service. Maverick

Interesting.
by Mandybp injehovah's witnesses are jehovah witnesses going to receive new light on their most controversial doctrine?
apparently there is a legal binding document posted with the european commission of human rights.
go to their website:http://194-250.50.201/eng/e276info.148.html watchtowers application 28626/95.they made this statement,"the applicant undertook with regard to its stance on blood transfusions... that members should have free choice...without any control or sanction on the part of the association.

Not likely. The Society is not above lying to get whatever status they need. They will tell the authorities in very vague and misleading terms whatever they need to. Then have the R/F follow their previous directives through the meeting talks and the Mags. Maverick

Cutting the final ties
by Wolfgirl ini've been doing a lot of reading these past couple of days, including someone's life experience that he wrote about and that was linked to on this board.
found here: http://members.aol.com/smcdownlds/downldfit.html.
anyway, after reading that, the last vestiges of my "programming" have fallen away.
