  Book Studies in Your Home

  i'm curious (was reading the other thread about book studies and got to pondering) who had a book study group in your home and what was it like.

  and did you go to any homes where they made you take your shoes and socks off and put on slippers or anything like that?.

  we had one in our home....got counciled about having the demonic disney movies out, but for the most part it was a pretty good experience.

  Growing up in a JW household, we had bookstudy at our house. This was when I was 9 or so. Some wise-ass kid in the bookstudy went in my room (during the study) and spilled silver Testor's model car paint all over my dresser. (At least he didn't mess up my model car that was in progress.)

  Goodie night was always cool, some decent memories I guess.

  What is it about sitting on metal folding chairs during bookstudy that make you have to fart as never before?

  It's All Going To Be OK ....

  there are i have learn't several cycles you go through on your way through any recovery program, including the often hellish experiences you've been through as jw's, especially so i think, for those that like me were brought up in the organisation, perhaps more so, than those who came in and left again in their adult years.

  for some, hopefully you will one day come to a major realisation about it all and you will experience a major breakthrough.

  you will feel vastly relieved when this happens.

  memorial invitation

  i bumbed in to a old wts friend (who should not of spoken to me as i am disfelowshiped) she ask if i was going to go to the memorial?

  i responded that i was thinking about it but did not know were the hall was or any details.

  she gave me a number of the local cong.. i rang the cong and as a good dishfelowshiped person, i identifed my self and as a disfelowshiped person that was looking for info so i could attend.

  Photographs Old Document Panoramic History of Mankind - 1879

  thought some history buffs in here might like to see some photographs of this item i bought in auction over 30 years ago at age 6. i've had it ever since, it's very rare, a copy i know exists in the british museum, there's one in france, one in scotland, one in south africa and my one here.

  there may be more, who knows?anyway, it's a chronological history of mankind from adam and eve all the way through the human family tree up to 1879. fantastic detail.

  if some of you require further close up images, feel free to ask, and i'll do them for you.. enjoy it!!.

  after two months of terribly abusive emails from my mother telling me that i "am not capable of appreciating true love" and her weird delusions that i have no friends and my life is a mess, i finally cut her off.

  i blocked her email address, and i told her to stop contacting me.

  yes, the jehovah?s witnesses.

  Similar situation with me and my folks..

  Dad: "Your Mother just cries and cries day after day because you left Jehovah."

  Like you, I could only handle so much parent induced guilt. Thankfully my 'worldly friends' were there for me.

  You've drawn a line in the sand, and I applaud your courage...

  Remember the words of the great Moz, "Hold on to your friends"!
