Posted in another thread but need to share this b/c it still upsets me
by berylblue insorry for being so self indulgent...i've been meaning to post this but had reached my limit, so i put it in another thread.. this still upsets me.
i don't know why it should...perhaps because i am, as my ex-husband stated, self-absorbed and childish.. but as part of my therapy, i present to you..... the car.
i don't drive and never have.

What are your experiences of dating in the truth?
by goofy ini really never dated that much inside the orgainisation because of a lack of available brothers.
the couple of times i did not great.
i once asked a brother out and it was all over the congregation as to how inappropriate that was since it should be the man who does the asking.

I really never dated that much inside the orgainisation because of a lack of available brothers. The couple of times I did not great. I once asked a brother out and it was all over the congregation as to how inappropriate that was since it should be the man who does the asking. There seems to be a lot of desparate sisters out there. I always wanted to be in a relationship almost to the point of being obsessed with finding a brother, when I was in the truth, now that I am out, I am happy to be single and almost run from relationships. What are you stories?

I am very interested in learning more about Jesus away from Watchtower teachings, but man, I just can't keep my mind that attentive for such a long post. Please, make little posts and then I will read and think. Goofy

What is the worst thing about leaving?
by sleepy in.
everyone probably has a slightly different experience when leaving the witnesses.the worst aspect about this for me is the realisation that my enteire life has been lived and directed by a false premiss, and the effect past decisions now have on my life.. it can make me feel sick in the stomach on occation.. also the idea that friends and family think i have tuned bad or evil to have left jehovah is qute disturbing at times.

Day One After Armageddon
by Shakita ini was looking at a pro jw site and i couldn't believe what i stumbled upon.
someone with a really good sense of humor posted a story about his take on day one after armageddon.
it goes to show the egocentricity of the jw's.

Blondie thanks for posting your story. It was 9/11 which really got me thinking about how I believed. I left for other reasons but when 9/11 came and I could not stop crying or having nightmare for months after seeing those planes crash into the buildings and listenning to songs I realised that Armageddon would destroy, should I survive. Two buildings and 6000 people destroyed me inside and forever changed me, and I knew noone personally, I cannot even imagine watching the whole world, and my coworkers and friends and then being happy. Just me.

What do you think about offerings or collection plates being passed at Church's? I sometimes go to this Christian Church and they pass a plate. Being raised a Witness, I sometimes get a weird feeling that they are doing something wrong and it bothers me? Am I just being judgemental since this is a way to fund the Church and after all I am there, or is passing the plate a sign that the Church is not right? Is it just years of reading the Watchtower knock any religion and how other religions collect money? Help me with this please. I really enjoy this Church at times.

just curious, how much time do you spend here?
by nowisee inwhen i first began posting here, about 4 weeks ago, i found that i just could not tear myself away.
since i work at home it was a constant temptation to just sit at computer for a few minutes which invariably stretched in to an hour, 2 hours, 3 hours.
i would break, then come back for more.

Sometimes way to much time. I sign on at work usually in the morning and mean to stay only a few minutes and then get interested and stay to long. I think I am going to have to stop signing on at work at all becase it seems I have no self control and I can't mess up my job. But, then again, I have an addictive personality in all ways. Love this place at times.

Just had visit from an elder...wine and cracker invite
by Waygooder64 inabout 30 minutes ago we had a visit by an elder.
of course it was to invite us to the memorial but the visit turned into an old rehash of issues that the wife and i have thought would not come up.i should mention that this particular elder came alone, while his wife waited in the car.i should also say that this elder is also the father and father-in-law of 2 regular posters on this board.because this elder knows of his daughters and son-in-laws stand towards the wbts it has caused a huge rift in the family.
my wife and i are dear friends of daughter and son-in-law and have been through thick and thin together.

I would never say he deserved to cry, while I don't believe this anymore, I love several Elders, certain relatives included, who I know are kind hearted and and sincere. I know it hurts them that I have turned away and they probably cry, it breaks my heart that they have to feel this way. All I can say is don't blame yourself, it is not your responsibility that he is hurt, yes it hurts us, but we cannot live our lives as robots to keep from hurting others. You would not stay with someone in a romantic relationship that you did not care for, in most cases, so it is here, you cannot stay with something you do not believe in to keep from hurting others. Maybe he will realize someday.

Proplog2, Hey email me and I get you a great price on a ONE way ticket to Iraw, since you think the U.S. is so bad. Those poor boys are over there being tortured and loosing their lives so that you can speak you mind and say bad things about the Country they fight for.
