Contradictory Timelines - Do they REALLY think we are this stupid?

so in today's wt, as brought out in another thread, it is the nations that make the declaration of "peace and security.

" yet just a few paragraphs later they claim, in answer to their own question of who declares "peace and security", that the bible doesn't say.. in the very next paragraph they say that angels are holding back the destructive winds of the great tribulation.

to answer their next question as to what those angels are waiting for they say the wait is for the "annointed" to receive their second sealing, referring to a 2007 q/r which says the second sealing is finished only when the "annointed" (including the gb) are in heaven.

I think they feel that witnesses are too scared to even admit they are stupid. They know exactly what they are doing. They are changing what they right & nobody better even try to step to them. After all we are THE GB's...we talk directly to God or is it the opposite, either way, there is static on the line. Every now & again, some get so smug & haughty & say, they understood, it's makes sense. I know they don't know nothing, all I know is they are afraid to say they don't understand. Trying to be in the in-crowd. When I go to the hall & some new light comes, you can see the body language of the congregation, stiff as a board....like last week's Wednesday meeting with the Drawing close to Jah book, the first question was, what would you ask God, you could hear crickets...the elder said, you don't have anything to ask God...folks were to afraid to say what they really want to ask God...a few folks answered, not many, goes to show, they are scared....I wanted to ask, since Moses asked who Jah was, & the article went on to say what Jah means ....I would've wanted to ask God, who does he think I AM.. what would he say about me, as imperfect as I am...but they didn't ask me...Good thing, uh ?

So they know most of the friends are not stupid but don't have the nerve to question them...they are emotionally attached to the org. So they can change just like the weather & the friends will still stay with them....Remember, The ORG. is Mom, & to them the org. is way better than there real Mom.

sometimes it is the place to be and i think that's especially true for newbies.

I'm a newbie as well. I haven't been on that long maybe less than a year. I use to be on another site, where there were witnesses & you couldn't even express your thoughts without someone calling you stupid or a phoney, alot of debating..The witnesses on that site are die hard, but insulting, alot of mud throwing....I like this site because when I started to study I saw many things that the org. said but didn't line up with the bible. I thought maybe Satan is messing with me...then when I went on the site that I mentioned earlier, one of the witnesses (x) said, that I was correct in what I say how mistaken the Org. was. I love this site, because it keeps me from really falling into the orgs. trap. I don't see the org. as Mother, because I have a Mother, and the org. ain't better than her in any sense...She is not a witness & doesn't mind that I'm one, I just share with her what I've learned, we keep it moving, I don't want to change her only if she wants...I look at the org. as a great go to place if you need some info. I'm not emotionally tied to the org. I still have some of my worldly friends....we respect one another. I love this site, many times someone says something that I couldn't put into words. I do alot of commenting only a couple of times folks would reply but not much but that's ok....

Oh to answer the question, yes, it does serve it's purpose....KEEP ME FROM DRINKING THE KOOL-AIDE.

Yes, it's Romans 7:13-25, better known as the conflict within....He says that the law shows him that he is doing wrong, that he cannot do good. Even when he wants to do good, he cannot do it. And isn't that all of us...When I'm at the hall or when I attended church, I would sit there at the service & say, yes, I'm going to be a better christian, stop cussing, no more partying, then when I started in the hall, yes, I'm going to widen out, yes, I can give more time to my ministry, really going to concentrate on my return visits, going to do more research, going to going to .....all the best plans are on paper. So all good intentions, but as soon as I get outside the church or hall doors, that's when the conflict starts...I want to do the right thing & just a minute ago I was going to be the best Christian God ever saw. I really think while we are all in worship & surrounded by spiritual people & enviromemt you have all the best intentions. But I think this scripture is a nice one for all christians, because I feel it really expresses what we feel but can't say. To the world we are super christians, but inside we are saying...It's tough being a Christian...For those who may not know this scripture, let me share it...just to be more boring & conflict more folks...Romans 7: 13-25 (This is from the Good News Bible: Easy to read & understand, not like the KJ or the NWT)We know that the Law is spiritual; but I am a mortal, sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do; for I don't do what I would like to do, but instead I do what I hate. 16 Since what I do is what I don't want to do, this shows that I agree that the Law is right. 17 So I am not really the one who does this thing; rather it is the sin that lives in me. 18 I know that good does not live in me—that is, in my human nature. For even though the desire to do good is in me, I am not able to do it. 19 I don't do the good I want to do; instead, I do the evil that I do not want to do. 20 If I do what I don't want to do, this means that I am no longer the one who does it; instead, it is the sin that lives in me.

21 So I find that this law is at work: when I want to do what is good, what is evil is the only choice I have. 22 My inner being delights in the law of God. 23 But I see a different law at work in my body—a law that fights against the law which my mind approves of. It makes me a prisoner to the law of sin which is at work in my body. 24 What an unhappy man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is taking me to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who does this through our Lord Jesus Christ!

This, then, is my condition: on my own I can serve God's law only with my mind, while my human nature serves the law of sin.

Poor Paul, locked up most of the time, yet, wrote more than half of the NT...talk about making lemonade from lemons..

What Drew You To The Witnesses?

i did believe for the first 30 years of my life that they had been picked by jehovah god to dispense the truth as best as imperfect humans could.

then, everything became questionable.

i had read anti jw books in the past but franz's books really got to me but not immediately.

That Satan was the cause of all this mess....I kind of thought that God wasn't evil or did bad things, because I forgot about Satan. Plus I liked the sister that spoke to me re: THE TRUFF. She was not raised a witness so she had/has a different take on it...What I have also learned is that most witnesses are attracted to the same message, but the difference is...WE/THEY ALL REACT TO IT DIFFFERENTLY...

So far I love my congregation...I know alot of funny stuff goes on in the hall, but I try to stay clear of that. I listen to the gossip that they claim they don't do or shouldn't do, but man o man do they gossip....they also tell you a piece of gossip to see if you'll leak it...so far so good...I've passed the test...but I'm use to that because at my job I have to keep many secrets, so I keep it the same at the hall....I can see right through them, because I smile alot, just to keep them off guard....it's like a one way mirror I can see out but they can't see in...

So what drew me to the truth is the info re: Satan...but the truff lead me to the REAL TRUFF...& I thank them for that...I see where they added or taken away from the scriptures...& what brings me peace is that in Rev. it says, who adds or takes away....WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE...that makes me get some sleep...but I will be accountable as well...how sobering..wouldn't you say...

It's like you know your Mom is going to give you a beating, but guess what, she is going to get your brothers & sisters too...ahhhh...The sweet smell of Judgement...

10 years ago i stopped attending jehovah's witness meetings for good.

walked out of the kingdom hall cold turkey never to return based on injustices i observed among others and myself at the hands of elders giving out not god's counsel but personal opinions as counsel .

some of them weren't even giving out wt society counsel- just personal opinions.

Sorry for not replying sooner. The comments are so far between, so I thought this issue wasn't being addressed anymore...I do hear what you are saying. I have been to many places of worship. The same folks everywhere, except in the Org. you just can't pickup and leave, no matter what. Oh you can but there are repercussions...

Regarding child molesters, etc. I'm not condoning it, but what I'm saying is that I don't care but if someone touches my child or brother is a wife abuser & that person doesn't think to call the police...what is that saying about the person, you love the org. more than your love ones. I know why, because some of the parents get help from the freinds so they are beholding to them, I see that. Again, I do know the scare tactics of the org., but I hope this never happens to me but, if it does..first to the police then I will inform the brothers that I informed the police & they should expect to hear from them...Again, don't get me wrong, I do know how the org. operates...don't air dirty laundry, well maybe folks should, if enough of them do it...then maybe, just maybe folks will find out TTATT. Oh yes, every now & again, you hear of a scandal, but the Org. has the best PR dept. I've ever seen...In this time where the media picks up on any & everything, why hasn't the org. been exposed as of yet ? Why are they teflon, what & who are protecting them. If all the sites re: witnesses have a story to tell, what hasn't it hit the media...I have heard that witnesses are not really on the radar that much for folks to care. Everybody in the world is getting exposed, down to folks we didn't know existed. So all the scandal & what have you has been buried. I have heard about so many messed up things personally in the org. & yet, it's like water off a duck...the same answer...WELL YOU KNOW WE ARE NOT PERFECT..well, my answer is...who is ?

Again, I like my congregation, they are just regular folks just trying to get along. I know some of them are a mess, but I stay down wind from them. Flipper, I'm glad to talk to you....keeps me from drinking the kool-aide...I will pray on it & I know God/Jesus will lead me the right way....I am making a personal relationship with faith myself...doesn't matter if I go door to door, I still have to make faith my own, because I will have to stand alone during judgement...&&&& guess what, if this bible story is all true...so will all in the org...will have to make their stand...ON THEIR OWN..

Has the WT ever said slavery is wrong? Last Sundays WT seems to say no.

in last sundays wt there was a paragraph talking about how the 1st century christian congregation was united despite differences.

rich and poor, jew and gentile, and get this.. slave and slave owner!

the wt has admitted that not only slaves were a part of the congregation, but that slave owners were as well, with no sanction on their behavior.

The bible in the wrong hands can be dangerous. During slavery time in America, the masters used the bible to keep the slaves....slaves....one of the scriptures mentioned..Slaves be good to your master....& that's how they kept slavery alive. The slaves didn't speak english, but the masters told them about God, & no matter where you come from you know that word....GOD...so, that's how kept the slaves in line...The slaves didn't want to go against God, so they obeyed their masters..did the masters ever read the rest of the scripture...there is also a line where it says, after 7 yrs. you are to let the slave go, did the masters read that line...did they read the line where it says...Masters be good to your slaves....yep, they left that out to....So as we can see here...the bible in the wrong hands, is very dangerous...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a scripture that also says there are no more divisions from freemen, from male & female....I think that's the one. Just like the slave owners didn't read the full scriptures only what would support slavery, as the WT, read only what supports ....THE NEW SLAVERY..

They say Jesus wasn't born in the winter because it was too cold, well in NYC a week ago it was 64 degrees.

i live in nyc & around the holiday time the temp.

rose to 64...i'm just saying..so that's not a good reason to say jesus wasn't born in the winter or 12/25.

I know all the stories about Pagan'ism...when I went out in service on Xmas day, the brother was telling us that the Romans, blah blah blah....whatever...All I know is that, I know nothing of the weather during Jesus' time...& neither does anyone else. For all we know, NYC could have been like the Bahamas.

@Aunt Bee (how's Opie)? LOL...anyways, had to say it...but you are correct. The sheep were out all year long...the cold helped the wool thicken, the snow served as water. Now my thinking if the weather got severe, maybe that's how the concept of Sheep dogs started...Dogs would have been able to keep the sheep together & keep away the wolves/people & animals. I'm just saying, that saying that Jesus couldn't have been born in Dec. because of the Shepherds not being outside because of the cold...is weak....

The history channel had a good show on the history of Xmas...it was kind of like a holloween. I would love to share it but too long of a story.

All we know is that he was born then died....so if folks want to celebrate it so be it....what makes me say ummm, is the kind of debt folks go into & the guilt because they couldn't buy for whom ever.....I think sharing a good meal with family & friends is a wonderful thing, & that is a gift in itself to be able to sit down & eat...there are so many that can't on 12/25 or any other day, because they don't have it.

Why do Jehovah Witnesses hate when you bring up going to Jesus?

Hi,

I think I can clear it up...this is what I've been told. That Satan has no problem with approaching Jesus or even you worshipping Jesus, but Satan does care if you worship Jehovah/God. A brother told me that he worshipped Jehovah & respects & imitates Jesus. Why most folks don't think witnesses believe in Jesus is because they are always talking about Jehovah. Their main claim to fame is...UPHOLDING JEHOVAH'S SOVEREIGNTY...it's not that they hate Jesus but they feel that imitating him is the best way to worship him. Since Jesus is God's only son & he Loves Jesus, so the witnesses feel by imitating Jesus they will come under the same umbrella that Jesus is under. There is a scripture that says, Jesus is the way, wonder how they read that. Although every prayer ends with in the name of your son & our Redeemer Jesus Christ, so they do give him his props, but I don't think they really get the message. As someone mentioned, they or I do not believe in the same Jesus as in the Trinity. I didn't believe in the trinity before I became a student, when I read when Jesus was baptized & God said, today my son I'm pleased with you (or something to that sort)...at that time I realized, who is Jesus talking to himself....then when he was about to die, he asked his Father/God to take this cup from him. Or even the scripture where Jesus is going to be on the God's right...The forshadowing of this is when Abraham was supposed to kill his son & God stopped him....

I think it is so impossible for people to believe anyone would kill their child for anyone. Most folks wouldn't sacrifice anything for anyone...so it boggles the mind of humans that God would give up his son for us...

Just all remember this...we are all going to stand in judgement...ALL...Don't worry about the witnesses, they can't stand & say, Well God, you know I was a witness & he'll say, ah, that's nice but did you believe in my son ...then they'll start to shuffle their feet & say Ah, Well God it goes like this, you see, I know he was your son & you told me to worship him but I know that Satan wanted to make a bad name for you, so I was going around pleading your case...then God will say, is that what I said...& so the story goes...I can't finish it cuz I ain't God...

So all that to say, they worship God & recognize, imitate & respect Jesus...But the man..is Jehovah...although, we do have quite books & literature about Jesus, I'm just saying..

Also, what was the temp at that time back then....&&& the reason that they may have let the sheep stay out in the winter because there was snow on the ground & that is a way to water your flock. & Could it be that's why they have SHEEP DOGS....because they could be out with the flock, because dogs have fur/hair & hello, does winter bother sheep...NO, why, because they have wool on their bodies...oy vey. So that's not a good defense that Jesus wasn't born in the winter....

Maybe just saying it's not in the bible would be sufficient.

I like xmas because of the lights...love'em...
