  I'm scared and I need help

  for those of you that don't know my story, read my first post here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/122526/1.ashx

  so, i think next week is when i find out if i am approved to be an ms. if not, thank god, but if i am, i'm in deep crap.

  elder dad is confident that i'll accept, but my plan is to try to get out of it by saying that i want to finish school and get an aa degree, at least, before accepting more responsibilities.

  I think you can truthfully say that you do not believe that God would want you to take this position. And even though you cannot articulate well the reason why not, you feel that it would be wrong to accept, although you do appreciate their confidence.

  Whatever line you decide upon, you next need to be prepared to keep repeating it and saying, "I'm sorry. I really believe that this burden privilege at this time is not what God Jehovah desires for me." Don't say anything like "maybe" or "if". Just repeat, "I'm very sorry." "I'm sorry, I really cannot accept the position."

  After a while, they will give up. Your dad might give you the hardest time, but maybe you can tell him that since you were told about it, you began to pray about it. And though you can't explain well, you are certain that you are not making a mistake in your answer.

  if so, did he not know eve would eat the fruit and then adam would follow?

  did he not know satan would try to pull his weight?

  Adam/Eve or not, I think it still boils down to the same question: why would God create mankind if there were the potential for sin?

  I think it must be win/win for God in some way. For if man never sinned, then all would be well, end of story. But if they did sin, then God could produce a situation that would make sin just a step to not just a 'better world (paradise)', but a result that would go beyond the 'good' we know on earth.

  nonamegiven's thread on the walk of shame (walking thru the hall while df'd) reminded me of my own experience while disfellowshipped and still a believer.

  i kept a diary from that time, serving as a safe place to vent off the anger and frustration of being df'd.. here is a little chunk of one entry.

  to set it up, "greg" was the chairman of the committee that df'd me.

  Been in an longdistance relationship with a married woman

  i have a situation that i need help with....2 1/2 yrs ago i met a woman online she is 20 yrs older then me 41 now as i am 23...i fell in love with her and i never have been in a long relationship.

  i know she is married but very unhappy...we been having a long distance affair for 2 1/2 years and i love her more then anything in this world...i have made her very happy and just the other day she feels trapped knowing she will be destroyed...i did not know what jw's were so i have been going to learn so i could understand her.

  i need help scriptures anything that i can use to help her leave her mentally abusive husband.

  Is it just me, or is there something fishy about this poster and this story?????? Can't put my finger on it, but something doesn't sit right in here.

  Truth can certainly be stranger than fiction, but I tend to agree with how you feel about this one, Jez. I think someone's trying to stir up some reactions.

  But in the case that you're on the level, I find it hard to give any relationship advice to a person who acts so treacherously to his "best" friend. Her being a zombie in the WTS is still not a handy excuse for your (or her) deceitful behavior.

  in my bible highlights part, i am going to espouse a pro-soup kitchen/salvation army/homeless shelter view.

  right on the heels of that, i'm going to support (higher) education as a means of bettering ones' self.. what will i get: insta-jc?

  i ask this because i have a hard time making and keeping friends since i have left.

  my husband is my best friend now....but he is my only friend.

  i do have some wemon friends, but i don't like to get too close.

  My husband is my best friend. That's why I married him.

  My sisters and brothers and their spouses are all close to me, nearly best friends.

  I make friends easily, but CLOSE friends... they definitely take time.

  Hello/Goodbye (I Don't Know Why I Say Hello/I Say Goodbye) - What Gives?

  several posters (whom i will not name because it doesn't matter) have basically said good-bye lately.

  we all responded as usual, with genuine sentiments - how much we will miss them, etc.

  but, quite frankly there is something almost disparaging or critical implied toward the rest of us who choose to remain on the board by those who "move on.

  I guess I have missed a few of the recent goodbyes.

  If people come back... I think that's A-OK! Occasionally, I think that if I knew I were going to be gone for several weeks or months I would probably want to say something just so the few folks who might notice my absence wouldn't begin to speculate about my early demise.

  Hmmmm... Now I've got that Beatles tune playing round in my head.
