Are you an igtheist?
by Abaddon inwe've seen it before; the pages long debates where there is a theistic lobby and an agnostic or atheistic lobby, and where because the discussion is approached from completely different paradigms by the participants, they don't understand or accept the objections or point being argued over.. i found an interesting new word today;.
igtheist.
igtheists can be defined as "those who argue that theistic language makes no sense and therefore they cannot understand what theists are talking about.".

I did not go to the one day Assembley!!!
by Singing Man inyes verginia, i did not go to the one day assembly today because of these reasons:
i sang with my friends at a night club till 1:am, and i slept till noon, and just had to set in my sweats and eat hot cakes with sausage gravy along with a cup of coffee.
and because i find surfing the web much more educational and entertaining than setting on hard seats hearing some cone head asking me "what sort of persons ought you to be blah blah" and waiting in lines to go pee and do #2, and i find it much more fun to plop down in front of my tv and watch cable springer eating potato chips and dip.

Q: Who buys these things? A: It may come as a big surprise to find out that there is not really one group that dominates the purchasing population. Some are expecting mothers who think they're cute, and some are high school and college kids looking for something their friends don't already have. A lot of people just buy them because they're too weird to pass up.

I certainly hope so, too. I guess it depends on how one measures "really hurt," but I tend to agree that eventually, unless the cult changes to be a much more positive, joyful and supportive organization, it will be made up of people who have a high tolerance for misery and a low need to know anything. But I keep thinking of the Catholic Church. I agree that it was the availability of vernacular bibles that led to extensive changes--but it took centuries! So we'll see. And continue to hope.

I was in South Carolina last week and people were taking it pretty seriously. Started boarding up windows over the weekend--stuff like that. I'm still hoping that by some miracle the storm will go away without causing any damage!

Off topic, but this reminds me--I was in the Chicago airport the other day and saw a shipment of Mormans headed for Birmingham. They were so cute.

There does seem to be a real appeal to believing the unbelievable as a proof of devotion.
