I think when people don't agree with us our initial response is to think they don't understand. When it is clear that they understand but don't agree it is difficult for us not to think they're just wrong-headed. I also think people who respond to something with hurt feelings, find it very hard not to see another's behavior as the cause of the bad feelings. (Please understand that I do not exempt myself from these human tendencies!) It seems to me (who has never been anything like a Witness) that being a Witness may exacerbate those very human tendencies.

Are You Able To Critically Express Yourself Here?
by minimus ini think some might get the impression that it's not right to express anything critical of this board.
some may feel that if a poster wants to express an opinion that is not in syc with the majority, they should not speak of it.if someone feels they have a valid criticism, i do think it is "healthy" to be able to express that opinion.
i am not referring to persons that seem to always complain about everything but i'm thinking of our not stifling a person.

I absolutely am able to express myself--critically or otherwise--here. However, I also know how some people express themselves here and I will not post something that may evoke a response from one of them unless it is something both important to me and something I'm willing to fight over. So, yeah, I feel free--but I'm mindful of consequences and I choose my battles carefully.

I, too, remember, how reluctant Mrs. Min was to consider the untruthfulness of the "truth" not too long ago. so congratulations and much happiness to both of you!

Planning A Fade. Need Ideas
by Doubtfully Yours inthis double life is slowly eating away at me.
i'm planning to fade away and need all the ideas i can get.. it needs to be a fade because my parents, who i care deeply about are heavily into it and my poor hubby is wanting to obtain more privileges in the cong.
me, on the other hand, can't stand going to so many meetings and service and giving parts, etc.. very much appreciate your ideas and support.

You Reap what you SOW??!!
by Netty ini am so bummed right now.
my sister, who is df'd, has so many medical conditions, she suffers alot.
she has recently been dignosed with fibromyalgia, and is in such extreme pain, she had to have cortisone injections into various trigger points into her neck and spine.

So unfair. So cruel. And certainly baffling if he is referring to your df status. I'm thinking it may be best to put him out of your mind--and encourage your sister to do the same--and focus on helping her do what she can to feel better. But I know that's easy for me to say. Hugs.

So called "Theocratic Warfare"
by Mysterious ini've heard others talk about it but i've never been in the middle of it before until now.
mom was peeved at me for not being very theocractic (not doing anything wrong, just not being dub enough) and she started talking about how it was with my dad.
she totally spun a tale to me about how he slowly drifted away.
