I always loved to go on my own, away from the others that were in my car group. Then I would sneak into a plaza, have a coffee and a bite to eat, and than an hr later meet them back at the car and tell them that I placed 6 mags. I loved street witnessing.

Do JW couples really have better relationships?
by Latin assassin from Manhattan inare jw marriages any better than the ones 'in the world' as they put it?
when they walk from door to door or mingle after a meeting they appear to be models of ideal marriages.
do you have any experiences with married couples in the 'truth'?

I know for a fact JW marriages are worse off. If The mounting pressures of day to day life are not enough they also have all the pressures of being a jw. I was married to a Jw for 7 yrs, it started off fine, but knowing all the consequences of leaving your mate she changed quicker than the wind. Her whole personality changed, it was very very weird. But to make a long story short I not only "officially" got out of that horrible marriage and away from that wacko wife, but I also got away from the organization. Yes I sat in front of 3 men in a judicial committee, but I also faked it all to be publicly reprooved and thus still able to talk to my family. Since that meeting I have not stepped back into a kh again and never will. It has been 7 months. You can kinda say I played it perfectly.

Ex-JWs......full of hateful pride ??
by ScoobySnax inan observation...... recently someone asked "are we the most prolific exjw site on the net?
" from looking about and trawling around, i don't dispute that this site is the biggest, if not the most prolific.
(type in jw on a search and this site will appear) from an inactive point of view, i reckon despite the fact that there are some genuine people "hurting" here from past experiences, the majority of posts seem like some crusade against the wt and jws at whatever expense.

Chalk this forum up to some venting and alot of therapy. The pain and the extreme hurt all of us here have felt from being betrayed, lied too, shunned by family and friends is very very great. As far as an emotional and mental standpoint we have been abused immensley. So when you can freely speak your mind and your heart without being harshly judged that's what we are doing. To a large extent this very good for us, who else will listen?

Do you remember your last meeting?

i remember it well, and it wasn't even my own hall.
it was so boring.

Last meeting I ever went to was a Book Study, 7 months ago. Isaiah vol2 ( so much diff than vol 1) I think it discussed destruction for all those that left the truth or something like that.
Now without the regular talk and hope of the destruction of billions including the elderly, women and children, I feel so much better.

A weekend of bitter and unhappy apostasy......
by expatbrit inthis is district convention weekend in my area.
now, i know that in the good old days, i would get up early, drive to hamilton (an unpleasant place), sit all day on an uncomfortable plastic chair with no legroom and listen to the usual boring tripe regurgitated from last year, with only a short break to eat dull sandwiches.
then i'd drive all the way home, tired and cranky and hungry, eat something and go to bed, knowing that i would get to repeat the whole sordid process the next day!

Then I'd drive all the way home, tired and cranky and hungry
Are you telling me you didn't with joy and glee go over all your wonderful, new, exciting notes with the rest of your car group on the way home?

Did you know that all the JW buildings will survive Armageddon ??? HAHAHAHA
by run dont walk inalright, my family, just when i thought they couldn't get any stupider, then find a way to outdo themselves.. talking to them the discussion led to me saying, "if armageddon is soon, why is the watchtower building new facilities in patterson and buying all new printing presses.".
the answer, (you better be sitting down for this).
"well, the work needs to be done, and besides all those buildings will survive armageddon, and will be continued to be used.".

Just one of the millions of stupid ass comments that have absolutley no scriptual background. Did you know we're all going to go to different planets in the new system, I mean why are they there right? and did you know we're all going to inherit one acre of land each. Did you know we're all going to be speaking hebrew. Did you know the new system is going to be the most boring place ever, I mean ever.

I really hated reading the mags. They were so boring and one-sided, it drove me crazy. So yes I placed without reading most times.

Did you ever feel guilty when you went out in service?
by micheal ini'm speaking not about yourself, but for the houeholder.
i would say for about the last 1.5 yrs before i left i didn't want to give a "good witness".
one because i didn't completly believe in it and two, i didn't want the householder to live the same misery i and most others were living.

I had not only service on saturdays but my book study also!! You know how normal people always looked forward to the weekend, well not me. With Saturday book study and service, than on top of it being stuck with "Brother Zealous" who never stops for a break, or "Sister Grumpy" ( which by the way I now understand), or "Brother and Sister Dull and Boring". Talk about couldn't wait to get home!
Than there was Sunday morning ( woo- wee). I couldn't wait for the weekend to end, just so I could get back to work. Now isn't that the existence everyone dreams of having. So so so so great to be away from that drudgery.
