My father was stepped down as an elder because he rented his old house to another JW. This JW spread around to everyone that my dad was cheating him, and took it to the elders. The elders sided with my dad saying that this JW had no proof that my dad was cheating him, but they stepped him down anyway because everyone would think badly of the elders if they didn't do ANYTHING, because so many had heard the false story. GOTTA LOVE POLITICS IN JEHOVAH"S ORGANIZATION!!!

The ten best ways to disrupt a District Assembly:
by czarofmischief in1. have an apostate food truck outside with free burritos and shasta cola.. 2. wear a smurf costume and run across the stage.. 3. bikini car wash across the street.. 4. have an old-school breakdancing session on the corner, cardboard and all.
bonus if you do it on a mat made of watchtowers and primary colored book covers.. 5. have a garage sale or flea market in the neighborhood during the afternoon session.. 6. sit in the audience and applaud everything that anybody says - try to get a standing ovation for each sentence of the closing prayer.. 7. put a recording of rap, heavy metal, or other forbidden music on instead of the kingdom melodies.. 8. get fifty of your friends to walk around in the stadium during the session, holding signs that say, "louder please!
" and "take your shirt off!

You people crack me up. The smurf thing then the Armageddon World Tour. GREAT STUFF!!!!
What if we hired that streaker with the green scarf in the tennis shoe commercials? That would get a few peoples attention and from what I saw in the commercial he is pretty hard to catch. Plus it would be really funny to watch all those stuck up elders in suits chasing a naked man.

No Food Coolers at Assemblies!
by VM44 inyou can't bring a food cooler to the assemblies!.
wasn't there a post quite awhile ago where someone brought this up?
i recall that someone said that for lunch they had to go out to the local mini-mart and grab a hot dog that was simmering all day on the grill!

Swan: That was so sweet. I too enjoyed the food preparation because that meant I missed at least one talk, but having to go back with my dad the next week was a pain, although I was allowed out of that most of the time.

How do you 'feel' loved?
by Maverick intony robbins claims there are three basic ways people 'feel' loved.
some need to be told.
for them hearing those words expresses love.

I have to be shown. Not by material things though. I would do anything for those I love, go completely out of my way, or drive 10 hours just to be there for them when they need me, that to me is showing love, not by material things but by being there when need and being willing to go out of your way for someone.

Swan: They stopped preparing food because it was causing too many brothers to miss out on the spiritual food provided. My dad was one of them. We would have to go to the morning part of the next week's District Assembly because Dad would miss the first half each day being in charge of food.

Not all JWs are paedophiles!
by Brummie ini read some reports (infact the majority) and they seem to imply all jws are paedophiles!
seldom do they draw the distinction between the majority (who are not peds) and the few who are.
perhaps we need to be more balanced when we comment on these things...dont cha think?.

I agree with No Apologies. Most people here are open minded and believe in free discussion of topics but no one is going to force you to believe a certain way. Some still hold on to certain JW beliefs, some have chosen another religion, still others have become athiests. It is up to each individual person as to what they believe.

newbie and not understanding all of the aspects of this site
by Maggie ini have read alot on this site for a while and just have been absorbing it as i make my way.. one thing i noticed was alot said about abuse of children... i experienced the reverse...false stories told..believed by elders because of hidden agenda and 20+ years as special pioneers ..etc.
as of no count and belief in a new publisher destroyed our lives and children's lives.
the horror never stops ...some of our family is disassociated...some disfellowshipped...some inactive...some active..some on a fence...mostly because of one or two elders and the misapplication of their power and lack of love to our family.

Welcome aboard. I too am still a christian and feel that I am doing right in Jehovah's and Jesus's eyes. However, I have also come to the realization that Jehovah and Jesus are not the Organization. They are two seperate things. Once you realize that you come to the understanding that you can serve god without the Kingdom Hall. I don't hate the witnesses and I don't despise the organization. I may not agree with everything, but hey that is what free speach is all about. I too would like a place to gather with people that believe the same as me without all of the politics and psychos but until such a free minded place can exist (which I believe it did with the original bible students, they all tossed around ideas at the beginning), we have to be happy with ourselves and our service to God, not the KH and JW's. Hope you find what you are looking for. Best Wishes!

House Name Required.
by Englishman ini want to give my house a name.
lot's of my neighbours have already done this, so we have a plethora of name boards springing up in my road.
(actually, i susupect it's a sort of snobbery so that people will know that it's not just another old house full of flats and bedsits but a privately owned whole house).

The watchtower and Beth Sarim are Great answers.
How about: Paradise found or New System or Jah's Vengance or Satan's Lair (Just in case you want to scare your neighbors)
