Shunned at Walmart
by Grammy inthe greeter was a woman i once called friend and who (unfortunately now) was baptized after studying with me for a year.
when i walked in i was the only one coming through the door so it's not like she didn't see me, she turned away and ignored me...not wanting to lower myself to her level i simply got a shopping cart and went about my shopping, my first instinct was to report her to management for dereliction of duty but i thought better of that because my doing so would show her it upset me.
i really owe her a debt of gratitude because it was at her baptismal talk that my first strong doubt that it was the truth finally penetrated my foggy brain, as i sat and repeated the baptismal questions to myself at the assembly when she was being baptized i realized they were not the same ones i answered in 1974, that started me on my journey out of the org.

Has anything changed with JW's?
by aniron inthere seems to be now a lot of reports of jw's actually speaking to those of us who have left.
even to df'd and da'd ones.
i had a mail today from da'd jw saying he was in pc world when he saw a jw from his old congregation one who had ignored him times before.

are individual JW's thinking "I'm going to wave, talk to that person. Whether its wrong or not."
That is what I did. I would go out of my way to talk to them to show them, I didn't judge them. Some were really taken aback. But I had never shunned them before either.

Elder finally said something to my roommate last night about the sex cases
by oppgirl63 ina month or so ago, my roommate wrote a letter to the po of her congregation about the lawsuit settlements - http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/134349/1.ashx.
last night, before the meeting started an elder told her not to believe everything she reads on the internet.
she knows it's true but needs some legal documents to show them.. the article she gave them when she wrote the letter was from the houston chronicle.

I would email or call the newspapers that ran the article for an archive copy of the paper. Then she can show the elders the hard copy of the NEWSPAPER so it isn't the EVIL INTERNET. They will usually do this for free.

Update! Drew Sagan is no longer a Jehovah's Witness
by drew sagan inas promised here is all of the info regarding what has been going on.
per the last jc with the elders i realized that all i had done was buy time.
they felt that we should be df'ed right on the spot, but because i made a plea to wait for a letter coming back from the wts they decided to hold on taking such action.

I have spoke once to my parents..
by mrsjones5 inin the last year.
some of you may remember a little bit of what happened last year when my family and i went to visit my parents - big fiasco, cops were called and we were thrown out - so i just had no desire to have any interaction with my parental units.
i don't call, they've called a few times to speak to the kids (they called it checking on them like i'm some deranged person).

Yep, they certainly should. Stand your ground.

I'm being hounded again

I assume you are grown so be grown. This is the advice I wish someone had given me.
Tell her, thanks but no. I have no desire to go and I am not going. I don't want a guilt trip about this. I love you and will support you if you decide to go back but I will not. End of discussion.
I didn't do this and was hounded until a near nervous breakdown. Stop it now. Nip it in the bud like us southerners say.
