" response.. then in the 1980's i said "if it wasn'nt for the 1914 generation dying off, i don't see the slightest indication that babylon the great is going to be destroyed anytime soon.
It is strange how so many people can be so adamant about what they believe but then instantly switch without blinking an eye.
Not only that, but many JW's beliefs are so negative & destructive. (no blood, shunning, no higher education, etc.) Also it seems like the JW belief system tends to lead to more dysfunction in families.
It is ironic that a religion that prides itself on being "the truth" changes beliefs so much. LOL
last night at my brother's house ( he's an elder ) i listened in on a conversation he was having with another elder about my old congregation ( which i haven't attended in 2 years and have been left alone).
our congregation had at one time 86 members.. they talked about:.
* how the congregation went from 86 members to 26.
My old congregation lost so many members that it has been disolved and the few remaining ones are back with the original cong. in another close city that they formed from. This cult's beliefs are so wacky and it's expectations so burdensome that it does not do well without an endtime date to instill zeal & purpose into it's members. 1975 is gone, "this generation" is gone....there currently is nothing to male them think Armaggedon is on the horizon, and thus it is easier for many to leave the cult.
i have been noticing in recent threads that people have been observing that the zeal has been waning among r+f jws.
i have observed that most zealous, die hards have gone to foreign lands, or foreign language congregations, leaving the others in the stagnant english congregations.
when you think of it, if you cared at all about bringing people into the cult, you probably would be preaching where it is fertile, the foreign field.
The JW's need a new Armaggedon date. What's a doomsday cult without a doomsday date? That would fire the JW zeal back up. After all the past failures, what do they have to lose coming out with a new date like 1975 again?
i haven't seen the 2014 yearbook on the jw site yet.
i'm looking to see if the number of partakers has increased again (as it has for many years now).
anyone have a scan of it yet?.

LOL......all JW's that claim to be anointed are making it up. There is no such thing as an anointed JW. It's all one big con job by the Watchtower.

Awesome......the cancerous JW organization is dying a slow death.
i've been reading and posting comments on this site for a while now (about a year) and the comments i see indicate that many who are here have good ideas about what would be required if either (1) jehovah's witnesses were completely reset and the whole framework of belief and organization were started over or (2) if a completely new organization were built.
this assumes, of course, that you believe god exists and that he is interested in human affairs (i know some of you don't).
it also assumes that you do not believe that the "heritage" of jehovah's witnesses has such great weight and importance that it precludes putting all beliefs and procedures on the table to examine them and change them if necessary.. given all this, what do you believe should be the beliefs and organization of true worship today?
I would have 12 Governing Body members, just like the 12 Apostles.

P.S. He's probably still doing janitorial and the occasional aux pioneer, while I've done very well in my work career, which also deals in chemicals.

It was disgraceful for him to quit his job like that. All he had to do was phone in and say he quit. Typical JW not caring if worldly management might be worried about what might have happened to this guy, or if they will have to arrange work coverage for him. In my work other people would be forced to work 16 hour days because this irresponsible twerp didn't call in so a shift change could be made where his job was covered by someone working normal hours.
I was still relatively young with 2 kids and had a great high paying job, when a zealous JW elder tried to talk me into quitting my job. I thought this is f'n nuts.
