with so many having been raised in the truuf.... do any of you now feel that due to the abuse and horros of being raised that way that you now need to work at building positive memories of things..like christmas??.
do others accuse you of going overboard with the holiday celebrations??.

Oddly enough, Jan 30 (today in SA) is my b/day, and I got one prezzie - from this girl I know, a very nice shirt that fits me really well. She has such good taste! Thanks girl! Made my day...it was so weird getting a b/day present, it just wasn't funny. I'v never gotten one, not ever.
I do party wildly tho, to make up for all the self-imposed strictness I lived under during my Dub days. Excellent!
my judicial meeting took place on monday night.
i was a bit annoyed because the meeting centered on my private beliefs - things that i've already spoken to the elders about in the past many times before.
i don't think i handled myself as well as i wanted to, but i guess i did ok under the circumstances.

i can see that all that is truly required of you is that you believe jesus is lord, that his father raised him from the dead, that you love god with your whole heart, you love your neighbor as yourself, and you confess your beliefs to others.
I especially liked the last paragraph, thanks for posting this...it cleared up quite a few points for me. Every post that comes onto this board convinces me more and more just how wrong the WTBTS really is.

No, the WTBTS will never fall. It has too many hardcore zombies at the center. It may shrink, but it will never fail to ensnare people every year.
It's not going anywhere anytime soon, because the people in it have their little blinders on and are running very hard in their exercise wheels, so they don't notice much that is happening in the outside world.
Besides, they have an army of millions of free book-sellers working their silly asses off in FS, and that's something no other religion has, really, it's a very strong point towards their continued survival.

Children get abused by JWs, and the Society covers this up. Explain away all of those documents on watchtower.observer and stuff!
What if you had a kid and s/he was abused by an elder? Would you say "Oh, it's OK, 99% of child abuse cases are just fiction" and forget about it? I think NOT.
for those of us with years of acquaintance with the wt and its teachings, it's clear that full acceptance of the 1914 date as the establishment of god's kingdom in the heavens is a non-negotiable condition of remaining in good standing in the organization.
many of us know people who've been booted out just for expressing misgivings, lety alone outright denying this teaching.
almost as central, and as non-negotiable, is the teaching that only baptised jws can expect to survive the big a.. .
Well I don't actually recall any of that, but as far as I remember, JWs invested and bought houses in the same way as normal people. I wasn't in the Troof for long enough to really see anything changing like that, although there were always the admonishments of 'The End Is Just Around The Corner' which stopped striking dread into me about a year b4 I left!
the other day an elder expressed concern for the "growing number of apostates on the world wide web" and said "apostates are "demonized"!.
