44Why do animals die?
by ezekiel3 inas an animal lover, i have some questions jws have never dared to breach (according to a search of jw publications).
if humans die because of inheriting adam and eve's sin, why do animals die?
were animals created imperfect?.

What did the Apostle John mean? "Young children, it is the last hour..."
by truthseeker inafter the destruction of the temple in jerusalem in 70 ad and masada, the last jewish stronghold in 73ad, it would seem that all of jesus' prophecies regarding jerusalem's destruction would have been fulfilled.. if you have a nwt bible, notice that no bible writers other than john actually wrote anything after 65ad.. the christian community began to flourish some years into paul's missionary activity, so much so that paul stated, "the good news has been preached in under all creation" (i forget the exact scripture).
twenty-six years later, the apostle john wrote the at 1 john 18, "young children, it is the last hour, and just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour.".
what specifically was john talking about when he mentioned, "the last hour.

Anointed Class? What Anointed Class?
by never_a_jw inplease, take the time to read this:.
the wts teaches that only the anointed 144,000 seen in revelation 7 will enter heaven (the "anointed class"), while the remainder that are not annihilated (the "other sheep") will live forever on earth in paradise.
however, the bible poses some irreconcilable difficulties with this idea.

Questions about Rahab....
by ralmo inmy sister used the example of rahab as a source of comfort to her.
you see she believes that by her faith that perhaps i will somehow be saved during armaggedon as rahab's family was spared the destruction of jericho.
i told her that i did not recall any support for that belief from my time in the organization.

Heaven
by ClassAvenger ini was talking with a jw friend and he said that they believed they would live here on earth forever.
he told me a verse in psalms were it says "...the meek will inherit the earth.
" for those who believe in heaven, what does this verse mean?

bible translations
by minstrel ini would like the title of any available bible translations from the original greek/hebrew.
preferably from a scholarly authorship rather than personal 'sect' influences.
also, i would be interested if the translation can be incorporated in a 'parallel' version.. best wishes.

this is what he told me, their hearts are hard and they do not wish to hear what i tell them.
