  thanks everyone for posting on my thread about asking to be reinstated.

  many of you said about a person who marries a df'd person getting df'd themselves, but the most recent article i can find on this is a question from readers in 1955. can anyone tell me where i can find a more up to date article?

  and also, anyone who persistantly associates with a df'd person gets df'd themselves, but is there any articles to back this up apart from that on i already said about in '55?.

  Notes from the Convention

  i was at the convention today, and noticed a number of interesting points in the program.. 1cor 10:31; "therefore, whatever you are eating and drinking or doing anything else, do all things to gods glory.

  " they said that everything that we do is up to our conscience, but how would what we are doing reflect on jehovah.

  at the same time they said jehovah is not a dictator.... "pay more than the usual attention.

  Old magazines on ebay

  i've found loads of old watchtower's and golden age's for sale on www.ebay.co.uk.

  then just type watchtower into the search.

  most of them date from 1912 through to the 1940s, and are currently at about three pound each, but the auction finishes in about 5 hours so be quick.

  Last night I asked about getting reinstated...

  after the meeting last night italked to some of the elders in the car park, and asked what more i neede to do to get reinstated.

  they commended me on the things i've been doing (?

  ), and said the main point for reinstating would be how much contact i've been having with my fiance, who's still a wittness.

  i watched the paranama documentry last year, but haven't heard much about whats been happening since then.

  i'm particularly intrested in the case in scotland as its pretty close to me.

  is jon briggs still po up there?

  Memorial Night

  the memorial this year was the first one i've been to since being df'd.

  when they were passing the emblems they missed out the row where me and another df'd brother were sitting.

  the other person said it had been happening for the last 5 years he'd be going back to meetings.

  one thing i always wondered, but no one was able to answer.

  when you preach to others, you encourage them to read the watchtower ect to gain knowledge about the bible, but wittnesses aren't supposed to read any other religious material.

  i know this is because if they read it they might find the real truth, but how do wittnesses justify asking others to read material when they won't do the same themselves?

  has any body any idea how good the workmanship is on quickbuilds?

  normally if you get a group of people who don't know about building you get chaos.

  i know a few years ago they were changed from 48hrs to 2weekend, something to do with not being able to lay the bricks fast enough, new legislation limiting how many courses could be done in a day.

  Disfellowshipping

  hi, i wonder if someone can give me some information on the disfellowshipping/reinstating process.

  i appealed my disfellowshipping and at the appeal hearing they went to deliberate.

  they spent 10min on their own, over an hour with the original committee, then 5-10 min on their own again before disfellowshipping me.
